King Sized Bed Dreams

Okay. I've been converted.

These condos we've been staying at have King sized beds.

I've decided that we need a King sized bed. We have to have a King sized bed. My happiness depends on a King sized bed.

In a King sized bed I don't have to worry about man legs being thrown over my waist.

In a King sized bed I don't have to worry about stale breath being blown on my face.

In a King sized bed I don't get a blast of fart in my face if Tom has consumed a lot of cheese for dinner.

In a King sized bed things are better.

Why have we stuck with a Queen sized bed all these years? Why have I put up with the man legs, the stale breath and the farts for so long?

Oh. Right. Because we live in base housing which means we may not always have space for a King sized bed in our room.

But, really, who needs to be able to walk around when a King sized bed is involved?

I will give up pacing around my bedroom if it means I get a King sized bed.

Walking is so overrated anyhow.

  1. I actually wrote a whole post some time ago about how king size beds save marriages.

I am not joking. It was the best purchase we ever made. When we stay at hotels, I demand a king size!!

  2. I dream of having a king size bed, too! The place we stayed at a couple of weeks ago also had a king sized bed, and I've never slept better. My husband says if I get a job, we can get one. What do you think? Is it worth getting a job to get a king size bed?

  3. I am also in dire need of a king-sized bed. Mainly because it's not only Curtis (6'4") and myself (5'8") sleeping in it, but also two cats and at least one child at all times.

When I become independently wealthy, I'm so getting one. ;)

  4. A king size bed is a must and if you really want to go crazy get a "California King". We can no longer sleep in a king size bed when we go anywhere. If they don't have a king available, I always ask for 2 beds and we sleep separately....that's how necessary a king size is!

  5. You've convinced me, go for it!

  6. When we bought our first home and were shopping for a bedroom set we decided then and there we would get a King sized bed no matter what six=zed room we ended up with. Other pieces of the set could go in other rooms if need be. We figured if we didn't do it then we would probably never do it. BEST decision EVER!!!

  7. How how I long for a King-sized bed!!! Perhaps I wouldn't have to go on a Goldilocks bed hunt at 3:00 a.m. . .

  8. Oh I fully agree about the california king. I don't know how we slept on a queen for so long. We have a CA king and I LOVE IT!!!

  9. Yes, the king is the king. I don't know how I ever lived without it. But the stale breath, it will never leave you. It will just get a little further from your face.

  11. I'd like a King, too (bed, that is... not an actual king) (Well, on second thought... an actual king might be kinda nice...)

Uh, where was I? Oh, yeah... beds. We have a queen. And there's barely enough room for it... plus the dresser, armoire, 2 night stand, TV stand w/TV, and the ever-so-romantic dog kennel. I don't see how we'd ever get a king in there...

  12. King sized beds are great. And I think I must be two attached to skin.

I really like the queen because of it doesn't take rolling over but once or twice to get to those legs and body that I love to be wrapped up in my sleep with.

  17. We slept in a double for the first 7 years we were married! Now, we are in a queen.

  18. We slept in a queen size bed for 21 years - all the years we had a house. Then when we decided to go full time in a trailer, THAT's when we got a king size bed. How funny is that? He sleeps on his side, me on mine, and never the two shall meet, unless I'm cold, or for, you know ;). Although I do feel like we had more sex with a queen size bed! We couldn't help but be closer together! LOL!

  20. I love our king. Of course...I love it best when the dog, hubby and two kids are not in it yet. So there's that.

  21. When we first got our king bed we had about a foot clearance around it in between the dressers. But walking area is overrated anyway.

  22. Jon made our queen. I'll have to put in a request for a king and send the queen to one of the kids rooms. Wonder if he'd do it?

    Hope you get your king!

  23. HAHAHAHA, really!? I don't think 50 king sized beds would keep me from getting a fart blast in the face!!! No lie, I sleep with a huge can of Febreeze room freshener spray so when he "sprays" me, I spray him back...hehe!

  24. I so want a KING size bed too!!

  25. You could always do your walking on the bed, its big enough for doing laps...

  26. I can totally relate. We bought a new queen sized bed two years ago, and I'm still kicking myself for not getting the super-sized king bed. I hate it when Jim wallows all over me when I'm trying to sleep. And, his breath always smells like dill pickles. Ewww!

  27. Ah, king size! How I treasure those nights we spend in hotels, if only because of the bed. When Jerry and I first started dating, I had an antique double bed, so it was a big deal when we got a queen when we moved in together. As we've gotten older though (and seem to be having more sleep issues), I truly wish we had sprung for a king---even if it means losing out on a good pathway for pacing.
