Life with a Two Year Old

Help!

For the love of chocolate, help!

My daughter is posessed.

She'll ask me for something, right? So I'll bring it to her. Then she'd decide that she doesn't want it. So I'll put it back.

Then she does this:

She'll be like, "FOOL! Did I TELL you to put it back?" Her arms will immediately cross and she'll look offended.

EVEN THOUGH SHE TOLD ME SHE DIDN'T WANT THE ITEM!

So fine, I'll bring the thing back. Sometimes it's food, sometimes it's a toy...

And she does this:

What does she want from me?

Is she PMSing early?

I DON'T KNOW WHAT SHE WANTS!

So I take the thing away.

And she does THIS:

Maybe she has short term memory loss and didn't realize that she asked for the item in the first place?

Maybe she HAS been posessed.

Or...maybe she's just being two.

  3. After just having spent 2 days with a 3 year old and a two year old I can tell you with authority - I don't have a freaking clue as to what they want.

Although they are darn cute, arn't they?

  4. THAT is the million dollar question!
Maybe she is gearing up for world domination. Does she laugh evil-ly?? I'd sleep with one eye open, if I were you. ;)

  5. have mercy on your soul my friend...she will be a fun one for you in 10 years!

  6. Well, she's two and she's a woman. Sounds like normal behavior to me. :) She's so cute, even when she's mad.

  7. call in the exorcist, that kid is possessed. haha but really, my three year old cousin is currently in this phase. it's super annoying when i watch her because it makes for 6 hours of misery but i'm sure its just a phase.. i mean, let's hope.

  10. BWAHAHAHA! Sorry for laughing, but it's nice to see it's not just me having these weird 2-year-old problems. Whee!

(I do think you have it worse for her being a girl.)

  11. Hahaha. I have a two year old too. I think they're possessed.

  12. Yup. That's exactly what two looked like in my house. Especially with kid number three. As a matter of fact, with kid number three, that's what three looked like, and four, and five, and...well, you get the picture.

  13. I vote two... and I also would make her get her own "stuff" if she can...
And when she is 15 it will be no better lol.

    She is adorable
    xx

  14. It's the power of Christ that compels her.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yeah, she's two but she sure is cute when she's upset.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ditto what everyone else said....be strong!!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  17. Shit. You've got a willful one AND she is two. I advise WINE.

  18. Oh I can so relate! It is so frustrating sometimes isn't it? I like it even more when I give her a choice of two things - she points to one then screams when the other is put away. There is no pleasing a 2 year old I think! At least you've got yourself a well dressed 2 year old!

  19. Wow. She's perfected the pout at age 2. That's talent.

  20. Allow me to bring even worse news. 3 is WAY WORSE than 2.
Then there's eight. That's when the really exercise the 'tude.

    ReplyDelete
  21. How can you say 'no' to that face! She's precious! :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. YES! She's totally learning early the ways of being a woman!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I think she's starting her period soon. Isn't that happening earlier nowadays?

    ReplyDelete
  24. At least at 2, she is still cute enough to get away with it. When I do that at 39, John is NOT amused!!!

    Hallie :)

  25. Ugh, my 4 1/2 year old is still doing this. I'm with ya-HELP!!!

She's so freaking cute, by the way.

    ReplyDelete
  26. But my darling she is TWO! It's in the job description! And one day she'll be three and it will pass. Really!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Wait. How did you get into my house and take pictures of a little blonde 2-year old girl WHO DRIVES ME INSANE WITH THAT BEHAVIOR??

(In other words: oh. I. feel. your. pain.)

    ReplyDelete
  28. LOL! My soon-to-be three-year-old BOY does the same thing...minus the crying (THANK GOODNESS). He asks to watch WALL-E, then I put it on and he says, "I don't wanna watch WALL-E". Just repeat that scenario for EVERY.SINGLE.SITUATION. He also has the arms crossed thing going on, too! Oh the terrible twos...do they ever go away???

    ReplyDelete
  29. This is why two year olds are so darn cute - so we won't smother them when they pull this crap. LOL She is definitely a girl, always changing her mind!

    ReplyDelete
  30. This is exactly what my 2-yer-old does.

Amazing that they have these 'skill sets' so early.

    Hilarious post.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Have I the man for her. He will OFTEN do this
"I don't need your help, but i need your help"
    or
    "I don't want that, but i do"
    in the same sentence. It.is.awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Forget being 2, I think she's just being female!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. OMG that third picture is beyond adorable pathetically convincing!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. But, she's so darn pretty. How can you get mad at that face. Ah ha. My favorite is one the dude pushes something away when I try to hand it to him. 'Tude already.

    ReplyDelete
  35. So many have said the same thing. It will not get any better until she is about 18. Your only revenge: You wish on her the child she was. She's a Mom now and swears that curse worked.

    ReplyDelete
  36. She is very cute. I know everyone's saying it, but it's still true.

Another quality offering. I do enjoy stopping by to read you. :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. She so knows how to work it...it's a talent, a gift!

    ReplyDelete
  38. well, i was going to go with possessed (as i think mine are), but apparently, she is just being two. i don't see it ending at three though, at least in my experience. next time she does this, you can think of me and smile and say to yourself "it's not that bad. beth has twin girls!" they will be three on saturday. lord help me.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Why do you think God made her so cute??? So you won't kill her, that's why!! LOL!

Been there, heck, STILL THERE some days! As hard as it is to do, let her work it out and ignore the dramatics. Performers stop when there is no audience!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I cringe in horror as I suddenly know what my mother meant when she says, "You are worse than a two year old!"

...but SHE is so durn cute!

    ReplyDelete
  41. thank god it's not only my son! I was just about to post about this same pattern.

I get to the point where I end up yelling at my husband "BUT WHAT DOES HE WANT!?!??!"

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yep, she's two. And a girl. Just wait for thirteen. Muahahahahahaha!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Stopping by from SITS!

Ah, the joys of two year olds!

    ReplyDelete
  44. hahah. her faces are SUPER cute. I know the frustrations though, my 3 year old does the same thing..even though he can talk!!! LOL He just shoots me the most evil looks sometimes!

    ReplyDelete
  45. She is very cute! You can't resist those sad faces. I have a 3 year old boy who does the same thing. Therefore I don't think it can't be early PMSing :-)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yes, she's two. Don't worry, you only have another two years of that.

    ReplyDelete
  47. And that is when I tell my 3 year old it is nap time cause she is a cranky butt.

    Your girl is too cute!

    ReplyDelete
  48. She is so dog gone cute!!! I really like your blog!please stop by mine cause I'm new to all of this!:)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Wait 'til she's a teenager!! This is your pre-trainig!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I also live with a two year old, just the male version.

It's crazy sometimes (but also pretty cute most of the time).

    ReplyDelete
  51. My daughter does the same thing. It's so annoying. The joys of having a 2 year old.

  54. This is one of the funniest things I've ever read. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  55. yep. two. girl. drama. it only gets better....
wait until she thinks close toed shoes are the spawn of the devil...

    ReplyDelete
  56. LOL
    she IS cute!
haha! but i've once read a book about a young boy manipulating even his foster parents.. so i can say that even if one thinks a child can't do what you think she can't do, think again coz she has brains too you know. hehehe.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I don't want to frighten you, but my daughter is 9 and STILL does this but without the tantrum. Instead, I'll look over later and the toast she asked for will be sitting there cold or whatever it may be she asked for and changed her mind 2 seconds later. BUT, she at least doesn't yell or cry about it now:)

    ReplyDelete
  58. HAHAHA. Someone can really relate? My almost two year old is the same way.. Sometimes I really think about Ebaying her. But i dont because I love her lots once she is in bed asleep!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I totally could've written this post!!! I've got a PMSy 2 year old disaster too :)
