Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. I think I’m going to do this every Tuesday now. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your diary. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either.

Hey, It's Okay....

To at first think that (: is a frown face and be all, “Why are you frowning at me?” And then be all, “Oh, never mind it’s a smile face. Carry on.”

To be looking forward to the reality show Big Brother.

To hate going to your husband’s work functions, especially when he goes off talking to his work friends and leaves you to tend to the kids.

To make a face when magazines remind you to “not forget about your man’s balls” during foreplay. I’m sorry, I WILL forget my man’s balls during foreplay. They do not look appealing. No offense.

To like going to Toys R Us as much as your kids do.

To have once eaten a bunch of the brownie batter just ‘cause you could. Being an adult rocks. Salmonella be damned.

To still be searching for the Snapple flavors created by Bret Michaels and Holly Robinson on The Celebrity Apprentice. I know they exist! It says so on the Snapple website.

To be looking forward to seeing Sex and the City 2 on Thursday despite the bad reviews. Hey, it’s two hours of kid free time complete with buttery popcorn. I’ll take it.

To be upset that ABC cancelled FlashForward. The ironic thing is, Ghost Whisperer will probably replace the time slot and I had been upset that CBS cancelled Ghost Whisperer earlier. ABC decided to take it on and I’m going to laugh if the show takes FlashForward’s slot. CBS? Wanna take FlashForward then? Please? Lifetime? FX? SyFy? SOMEONE!?

To love when your husband leaves you notes like this:

  3. That makes me ridiculously happy about Ghost Whisper!

  4. I love Toys R Us! I'm always amazed at how much stuff they carry and I want to buy everything. And yeah, being an adult rocks - I had 6 cherries on my sundae last night, just because I can!

  5. Regarding the balls and foreplay: Cosmo suggested "jiggling them as if you've got dice in your hand."

I told my fiance this, and I thought he was going to literally cry tears of pain at the mere suggestion.

  6. While I don't quite get the Big Brother phenom., I'm totally guilty of loving that show for rocket scientists on ABC known as The Bachelorette.

I hate myself a little when I tell people that, but I still watch it.

  7. Love notes are so sweet! and 2 hours of kid-free time is perfectly OK, even if the movie is bad.

  8. SATC2= painful. I still liked spending time with the four of them, but it was PAINFUL time.

I did this pretty much the second I got my own place, and promptly threw up. :-D

As to notes, that is ADORABLE. The Husband over here makes up weirdo songs and sings them at me. I should start recording him. You know. For the blog.

  10. Awww I love mushy love letters!

And yes, I agree about the brownie batter...being an Adult does rock...the same goes for chocolate chip cookie batter too...nom!

  11. Glad I'm not the only one that misreads upside down smiley faces. What a sweet note! Happy Tuesday.

  12. You are so lucky to have a husband who will take the time to write a note like that! Mine doesn't even take the time to make a grocery list --- I still have to do it.

SATC2 is a great movie despite the reviews. I hope you have a great time and enjoy it as much as I did!

  13. oh wow.. what a sweet note!!

    happy tuesday!

  14. Speaking as a guy (TMI alert), foreplay in "that area" is highly overrated and if you skip it, its no great loss...

    :)

  15. awww. what a sweet note. and toys r us is like a mommy break.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Well, speaking of balls...

It's okay to have snorted soda out of your nose when your husband and her friends were describing what their balls looked like after getting the big snip-snip.

  17. I am so sad about FF! I don't understand why they can't bring both FF back and V. Lost is now gone. Boooo.

  18. That note from Tom = chock full of awesome!! Too sweet.

I'm sooo mad that they cancelled Flash Forward. That was my favorite new show. And it had such an exciting season finale!! And Ghost Whisperer is so over for me. They jumped the shark when they jumped ahead 5 years. And that creepy kid with no eyebrows that plays her son? No thank you! In the words of Natalie "I no YIKE him!"

  23. It IS ok. I swear. But what the hell kind of magazines you been reading? lol

  24. I can't wait for Big Brother to start!

  25. Dork

    HECK YEAH!!!

    No joke.

I lmao at the comment about the dice a commenter left.

    :D

Or chocolate chip cookie dough. noms!

I heard that Bret Michaels may be a contender for the replacement of Simon on Idol. I admit I got giddy.

    Have fun!

Never heard of FF. Hm. At least Ghost Whisperer got picked up. :)

He wins husband of the year. What a sweetie! How much nookie did that earn him? :D

  26. Can we all have a copy of the note to leave on our kitchen worksurfaces? I guess the wrong name is a problem, but who cares.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh yes, please SOMEONE take on FlashForward??!! It was JUST getting good...though feel free to replace Joseph Finnes with someone else, no one will notice ;)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I already blogged about SATC 2. It won't be the best movie you've ever seen. But it's light and fun, and you'll have a good time if you're not expecting a lot!

    ReplyDelete
  29. What a sweet note! Wish my hubby was so appreciative when I've cleaned the house. You're a lucky woman!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I was looking for those Snapple flavors too! No luck here either.

    Seriously, Big Brother....how soon?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Awww..what a sweet note. He isn't reading the male version of Cosmo is he? You know...the one that writes articles like "How to write a love note that will ensure she pays attention to your balls during foreplay" :P lol

    ReplyDelete
  32. Awww...that note from Tom. Sooo sweet. He better be careful, or he's going to have a reputation to uphold!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Holy friggen man balls! No! I say NO WAY! What on earth do they want us to do with those things?

    ReplyDelete
  34. You're hilarious -- Yes, I am doing all I can to avoid hairy man balls at all costs. But dude, I just could not stand Flash Forward for the simple reason that Joseph Fiennes' acting was SO BAD. Maybe he was having trouble focusing on his American accent, but he just came off like a weird robot.

  35. love notes are by far the sweetest thing. well unless love notes are made with chocolate-thats the best thing ever! and I think raw eggs are not nearly as dangerous as reported. French Silk Pie is a family tradition and we eat it several times throughout the year, every year... it has 3 eggs that never get cooked. and no one I know has ever gotten sick from that pie. even when my husband ate the whole thing by himself.

  36. Your hubby is super sweet. Mine often leaves love notes in my lunch or under my pillow, or stuck to the fridge... This morning, however, he got creative and used a black sharpie draw a picture on my banana. Yep, I'll let you think about that... And, moving on.

It IS ok. Thanks for this weekly post :-)

    ReplyDelete
  37. One of these weeks I'm going to join you on this!

We used to make cake batter in high school and eat half of it, then bake the other. Yummmmmm.

That is the sweetest dang note. *sniff*

  38. Do POst when you find the Snapple flavors...

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh my hell! You are a hoot! Let's face it - a man's junk is not all that pretty. Sorry boys, but it's not.

    ReplyDelete
  40. My husband has never, ever left me any kind of mushy note. If he did, I'd surely think he was having an affair or dying.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I never get those kinds of notes from hubby...I'm jealous! And if you find the Snapple flavors, I hope you'll do a post about them because I can't find them, either!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I love Big Brother too! When does it come back??

I wish I got notes that that...:)

    ReplyDelete
  43. What a sweet hubby note.

I'd just leave the eggs out if I was going to eat brownie batter...now that sounds really good.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Tom is a big ol' teddy bear! Awwwww *sniff sniff*

    ReplyDelete
  45. Just this evening I made brownies. And after I cracked the eggs I carefully washed my hands. You know, so as not to get salmonella? And then I licked the bowl.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Awww... how sweet and such a nice love note from the hubby! :o)

    ReplyDelete
  47. I like notes left for me too. How sweet.

  53. Oh my gosh!! I am soooooo excited for Big Brother! I am a total addict.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Well crap. How do I not hear about these show cancellations? I get all my TV updates from you. I LOVE Flash Forward almost as much as I like Ghost Whisperer. I know a lot of people who like it. What gives. So not OK ABC!

That note was so sweet. And Big Brother ROCKS!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Ewww balls are gross. See, you don't have to remember them to get notes like that.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Wait. They canceled Flash Forward? I didn't know that!

SATC2 - funny, funny, funny! Best line? "Lawrence of my labia!"

How cute is that love note from Tom? My neighbor used to get love notes from her husband as to wear he was putting his TONGUE later that evening, and my husband? Yeah, hon, don't forget to pick up the dry cleaning. A real romantic, that guy.

    ReplyDelete
  57. correct that: as to "where" he was putting his tongue. I got all hot and bothered just THINKING about it.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Awe how sweet is the note from your hubby! I haven't gotten one like that in a long time :(

    ReplyDelete
  59. I almost spit out my coffee at the balls one!!! And I can't wait for SATC2 either...who cares if it's bad!! It has the girls and the fashion...and no kids allowed!

    ReplyDelete
