Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. I think I’m going to do this every Tuesday now. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your diary. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either.

Hey, It's Okay....

To love getting the Zeppoli dessert that’s served at Olive Garden. Usually I’m stuffed by the end but I don’t care. I am getting the Zeppoli. (For those who don’t know, they’re like beignets. And for those who don’t know what those are, that’s what Google is for :)

To think it’s disgusting when people spit while they are walking. Stop it.

To have been confused to see Snooki on Jay Leno. Aren’t there worthier people? (Like that dude who played Culpepper on The Tudors?? )

To love the movie Amadeus. Especially Amadeus’s laugh.

To not let your kids mess with your iPod Touch. I’m sorry, but it’s mine.

To think bees are evil. Yes, I know they do a lot of good things for us but they seriously have it out for me. Plus, don’t you remember what the bees did to poor Thomas J?

To think it’s weird when adults talk about going to a Justin Bieber concert minus any kids with them. Um....because his music is THAT good? (Doesn’t he just stand there singing “baby, baby, baby,” over and over again?)

To be excited over shopping Gymboree’s RBS sale today (for those who don’t know, Gymboree puts out a bunch of clothing from their older lines that didn't sell and marks them down...I believe the price points are $7.99 and below and yes, you may use a coupon on top of it. There’s a current coupon in the latest Family Fun and Parenting magazines.)

To look forward to the prospect of cake on your birthday (I turn 28 on Saturday. And I love cake.)

To be upset that the last episode of The Tudors airs on Sunday. I want more, dangit. I’m not ready for it to be over.

To be a little afraid of this consultant on Say Yes To The Dress. Are those eyebrows…drawn on?

  2. Happy Birthday Amber! I hope you get the perfect cake (and well, even if it has to come from Walmart).

    ReplyDelete
  3. I am ashamed to say that I like Say Yes To The Dress. Not ashamed at all to admit I love Amadeus though! That movie is da bomb!

    ReplyDelete
  4. ..to look like crap at the gym..what with the make up

    ReplyDelete
  5. Happy Early birthday! Yum Cake :)

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yeah, have they never heard of tissues? Spitting in the street is so urgh.

No not bees, its wasps that are evil.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Happy (early) Birthday! I always look forward to cake (and presents) on my birthday!

And I don't think I could have a consultant that looked like that for a wedding dress. She's a little scary...

    ReplyDelete
  8. happy early birthday. Tom should take you out for your birthday and get a great cake. Yummy, is it okay that now I want cake?

    ReplyDelete
  9. yeah she worries me too! I really don't get the Justin Bieber thing...

    ReplyDelete
  10. the drawn on eyebrow thing scares me more than Bieber... and adults listening to him just breaks my heart! They must not realize all the great music out in the world, how very sad!

    AND ....

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

  11. Oh my gosh, Amadeus is awesome... and my sister and I love his laugh. It's hilarious.

    Happy early birthday!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Ugh. I'm being forced to a Justin Bieber concert with my 13-year-old stepdaughter in just a couple weeks. And I'm SO not looking forward to it. I can't imagine why anyone would intentionally subject themselves to legions of obnoxious screaming teens ... without kids!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Justin Bieber Fever baby! Gross, and what sad people those are!

    ReplyDelete
  14. "To not let your kids mess with your iPod Touch..." YES! There are some things kids just shouldn't mess with. I say, Draw the lines, Mom.

Just found you! Am coming back. Come see me sometime.

  15. have fun at gymboree. can't wait to see the fashion show. I'll have to live vicariously because I'm poor and want and iphone 4

    ReplyDelete
  16. i don't think i'd wanna consult her for nothin!

    happy birthday!

  17. Here's my most recent "It's Okay": It's okay that I stepped in Jane's (<-- my dog) poop and tracked it into the house, then stepped in another "patch" on my way to the garden hose to wash off the first step-in, then walked through some more on the way back into the house, which no longer smells like roses. Either I have to change Jane's diet (Less filler?), or get my vision tested... LOL!

Best Okay Tuesday to ya! SF~~~~~*

  18. It's okay that you like cake. I like it too. Yum.

    ReplyDelete
  19. That consultant scares that crap out of me. Happy Birthday Week! My birthday is tomorrow and I can't seem to get pumped about it.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I love cake even when it's not my birthday (BTW, happy birthday!).

I don't like bees either. They keep trying to build hives inside our walls and manage to fly inside the master bathroom all freaked out (well, if you built your hive OUTSIDE that wouldn't be a problem now, would it Mr. Bee?). The time africanized bees did this was really fun--especially since my daughter was 6 weeks old at the time. Yikes!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ummm, Justin Bieber? Can you say "Jailbait".

    ReplyDelete
  22. Amadeus...yes!

Just caught Say Yes to the Dress last week for the first (and probably last) time and I agree.

I'm just a wee bit younger than you (I turn 28 in December) and cake is one of the best parts...especially eating it for breakfast the next few days. =) Hey, SOMEONE has to eat the leftovers, right?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Happy almost Birthday! I turn 28 next Wednesday. It's a great month. Enjoy your cake.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I have to get dessert at Olive Garden. No matter how full I am. It's that good!

    ReplyDelete
  25. It scares me how alike we are! I was watching Say Yes to the Dress on Satuday, and had paused it in almost the same spot, and screamed when I looked up and saw "her."

    ReplyDelete
  26. Forget the eyebrows... the LIPS scare me.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Holy Crap! We're almost the same age. I turn 28 July 1st:)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I chuckled at the bee one. I think those bastards have it out for me as well.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Harry catches bees and eats them. Flies too.

    ReplyDelete
  30. you get 1000 cool points for referencing "my girl" :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Happy (almost) birthday!

The spitting? Disgusting. Work at a high school..it's like a million times worse.

And, yes, that lady scares the beejeebees out of me.

    ReplyDelete
  32. My iPod is MINE so I totally understand. I love birthday cake and wish my b-day hadn't already passed! I bet those eye brows are tattoo'd on. yuck!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Who doesn't love cake!!?! Yum. Happy early Birthday!!! And seriously, her eyebrows!! She looks like a tranny!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I hate bees. HATE hate. And I don't even know why. I've been stung before as a kid, I'm not allergic. But they just terrify me now.

Also, my birthday is in 12 days and I'm already looking forward to the cake.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The spitting thing kills me.

We have a lot of tobacco chewers here and they just hock all over the place.

I make a point to look at them with raging disgust so they understand that their manly expectorating does not turn me on.

    ReplyDelete
  36. It's pretty safe to say that the Wedding lady is just being efficient. Eyebrows to lips in one quick swoop.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I so agree with you on the SYTTD lady! And her lips and that (BEAUTY?) mark???? Yikes! If I was dress shopping and she was my consultant I think I'd have to leave! I don't like her attitude any better than her face. Gosh I sound like a shrew! :(

    ReplyDelete
  38. It's ALL okay, especially not letting your kids play with your Touch. I have one, too, and feel the same way.

Have a great birthday, and enjoy the cake! My b-day was yesterday, and can't wait for the cake (in a few days at my daughter's house.) God forbid my husband would get me a cake-- it's my favorite dessert anyway!

    Party on!

    L.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Happy Birthday in advance. I' m with you on almost all of these--spitting, desserts and yeah, she is a little scary!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think bees are evil too...nasty little buzzing bastards

    ReplyDelete
  41. I walked into Gymboree yesterday when I saw they had started the sale. But I made myself walk right back out again...lol. I spend WAY too much in that store when I go in there.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I am more scared of her mole than her eyebrows. I don't like her slick hair either.

P.S. I think we watch all the same shows!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I hate spitting too! Its gross.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm also pretty sure that bees are evil, as is that woman with the eyebrows and the lips. Does she not own a mirror, or does she need to fire her makeup artist?!

Happy birthday! Eat a slice for me too!

    ReplyDelete
  45. The spitting thing is the only reason I think capital punishment should be brought back. If I step in one more person's respiratory contents, I shall be writing to the government.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Uh, I thought you weren't buying any more clothes for your darling dotter.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Your OG Zeppoli is my raspberry cheesecake!

You seriously need to be an ambassador for Gymboree!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Wow are you in my head? Perfect OK Tuesday. BTW, i am going to have bad nightmares about that scary lady...but great TV shot. Nice.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Amadeus is one of my favorite movies of all time....and that laugh is classic!!!

As for Gymboree, I heart them. I didn't know they had a special sale... is that nationwide? I usually hit the outlet Gymboree just outside of Vegas. They have variations on last seasons themes (like remember the mermaid theme?? I think those seashell sunglasses were part of it. super cute!) at a minimum of 20% off.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I just don't get the whole "Justin Bieber" thing. I don't think he can sing worth crap. He's just a highly packaged baby Ken doll. With blown dry hair. The end.

Happy Early Birthday. May you get all the cake you want.

    I hate bees. Any kind.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hi Amanda! Karen Mortensen told me about your great blog! Loving it!

I also have a son with Asperger's...mine is 19 and in college majoring in Art.

I look forward to reading your blog!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Ummm, I make cake just because it's raining outside..is that wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Seriously - what is up with the spitting?? And let me tell you, all boys do it - no matter how many times you tell them it's disgusting and to stop it now!

And drawing on your eyebrows like that?! That should be illegal.

    ReplyDelete
  54. That bridal consultant is scary. I'm probably going to hell for saying that...but its true.

    I may have nightmares.

    Thanks a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Bwahhh the part of the woman on Say Yes to the Dress. My daughter and I watch that all the time, and we have said the same thing about her. I found your blog thru Four Sons....love it! New follower here! So, HI!

  56. I've never considered getting the Zeppoli before, but if it's like beignets (which I've always wanted to try) I'm in!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I like the movement, I'm going to link back to you when I post mine this weekend. Cute. Thanks for the idea.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hey, it is okay ... and now I want cake, damnit!

    ReplyDelete
  59. OK you and I obviously have the same taste in tv. I have always thought that consultant really needed a make over LMAO. Ahem... that wasn't nice was it?
And yes... Cake is the best thing on earth as long as it has tons and tons of frosting. I always wondered why they couldn't cover the entire top with flowers.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Cake! What kind? And ice cream?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Happy Birthday, Amber. Have lots of cake! And I've never tried the Zeppoli at Olive Garden, but I LOVE the strawberry limoncello martini! It's part of my birthday celebration every year.

    ReplyDelete
  62. So everyone lets my niece and nephew play with their iphones to keep them busy when we are out (or at home for that matter)....but I always tell them mine is dead. Is that so wrong? I don't want them messing with it! Maybe it's a good thing I'm not a mom, LOL! And why would any adult go see that Justin kid, seriously?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Poor poor Thomas J!!!

I loved that movie. It's kind of disgusting to think about now, but I used to have a crush on Macaulay Culkin. It's disgusting because he still looks 13yrs old!

Happy early Birthday! We'll be the same age for a few months! I'm already panicked about the my 29th! It's all downhill from 30 I think.

    ReplyDelete
  64. That consultant on 'Say Yes to the Dress' does have some freaky looking eyebrows... I agree.

I cannot imagine going to a Justin Bieber concert... ex.

I don't let Hayden mess with my iPhone. It's mine... and it really isn't a toy (well, maybe it can be an ADULT toy).

And spitting while walking is just nasty...again, ew.

    ReplyDelete
  65. It's also disgusting when they open the car door at a redlight to spit. Ick.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Happy birthday early! Here's my present for you:

    You're welcome.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I like this "Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!" Great Idea! I just might join in next week.

    Happy (early) Birfday!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I love Glamor and I adore this feature each month...you should totally do this more often :)

PS. I hate it when people spit when they talk too. I mean, sometimes it is an accident but then the person should say..."oh, excuse me."

    ReplyDelete
  69. http://www.gabbafriends.com/

um, a mom had this button on her blog. I snorted and thought of you. :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Hey, I can tie your first and next-to-last together b/c I love the zeppoli at OG too, and we went there for my FIL's bday on Monday, and they gave us the best cake I've ever had. It was better than the zeppoli, pinky swear.

    And 28? 28? *sigh* Such youngins! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  71. who cares about the eyebrows? is that dark liner on a light lip color...that is hideous!

    And

    Happy Birthday.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Justin Bieber is for Twihard moms who are upset that Robert Pattinson can't sing and need someone equally creepy/young to fill the void. *shudder*

That MOLE. It looks like a roach...

    ReplyDelete
  73. cake is definitely one of the finer things in life, and I look forward to mine next week!! Happy early birthday, June birthdays really are the best ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  74. I am totally creeped out by that consultant on Say Yes too...

and PS- I love the zeppolis! I work at Olive Garden and I get them all the time!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I look forward to this post every week lol. I love it. And yes Thomas j did nothing to those bees
