Inside Natalie's Closet: Halloween Costume!

It’s no secret that I love buying my children clothes. So occasionally I’ll do an entry where I show pictures of their latest outfit.

Today I’m showing Natalie’s Halloween costume.

She’s a Peacock Princess!

The costume is from Gymboree.

Aren’t the wings fabulous?

I asked Natalie what she thought of Jennifer Lopez becoming a judge on American Idol. She’s all, “Huh?”

Then I asked what she thought of chicken nuggets and she got happy again. The girl lives off of chicken nuggets. I’m surprised she hasn’t turned into a giant piece of chicken.

She did some poses.

And then was all, “Can I turn on the hose?”

I was all, “Sure, if you want me to spin you around my head by your ankles shouting curse words.”

Natalie was like, “Um?”

Then she continued, “You can’t do dat to me.”

I said, “I actually can and will. So don’t get me wet. I’m wearing my good Mudd jeans.”

Thankfully she made the right choice and backed away from the hose.

She actually started to run around the yard going, “I’m a peacock princess.” Only she left out the “pea” part so you can imagine what the neighbors must have thought.

Anyway.

She sort of blends in with my car.

Sweet.

  2. What an awesome costume!!

The good thing about having three boys is that I have gotten at least two wearings out of every Halloween costume I've ever bought. This year, for example, Coby is going to be a fish. The same fish costume that Colin wore, and Cameron wore. Cameron is going to wear the Cookie Monster costume that Colin wore last year. I do get my money's worth! :)

  5. I LOVE that costume!! Of course we can't wear that kind of stuff up here in VT....we'd freeze our feathers off. Our costumes have to be thought out bought big enough to be able to stuff a winter jacket underneath. :P lol

  9. Very cute costume! I'm thinking of doing some sort of fall fairy costume for Evie since she's obsessed with fairies & princesses & such. :)

  10. My boys are rockin' their costumes early too. That's how I justify the crazy cost of them ;)

    Natalie is adorable!

  11. She's just the cutest little peacock ever!

This reminds me of three things:
    1) Did you know that BOY peacock's are the colorful ones, girls are brown and sort of ugly.

    2) When I was on vacation we went to the zoo and there were peacocks roaming and I tried to get a picture. An up close like, I'm ON the peacock picture. I got scared because he wasn't afraid of me and he started to chase me.

    3) Last Sunday I was on my way to pick my nephews up for a day at the lake. I rounded a 90 degree turn near their house and almost NAILED two peacocks (one boy and one girl). I asked my nephews and apparently there's a Peacock Farm near their home (which is NOT in a rural area). There's hundreds on this farm and sometimes they just roam the streets. Like Peacock Gang Members.

I really never thought I would have so much to say about a peacock.

Next time I'll talk about Flamingos. I only know one thing about those guys.

  12. I LOVE that costume! I think the tights are my favorite part. We haven't bought costumes yet, I'm waiting for Party City's flyer to come in the mail so the boys can pick out what they want at home so I'm not going crazy at the store.

  18. That is quite possibly the cutest costume EVER. And Natalie grows even cuter every day. However, you really can't do that to her. I'm pretty sure there are laws about that.

  25. She's so adorable! I bought my daughter the same costume - it really is gorgeous. She's been wearing it around the house and loves to wave her wand!
I'm torn between wanting her to wear it a lot for dress-up and get our money's worth out of it, and restricting her wear so I can sell it on ebay next year, LOL.

  26. That's very funny, especially the bit about her running round the garden! Oh well. At least, if she does actually turn into a chicken, she's going to be a very pretty one!

  27. Love it! That is one of the prettiest costumes there ever was, and Natalie is adorable, of course. . .

Random thought - have you *has SHE* seen the Yo,Gabbagabba episode about teeth? There is a song that's all about smiling for the camera. . . makes me think of you EVERY TIME!

  28. Seriously adorable. She's right up there with Youtube videos of kittens.

I miss those days. Skye was a princess last year. This year, a bat. She's already planned out next year, a spider. And then, a cheetah. Can I disable Animal Planet?

  29. WHY don't they have cute costumes for boys - I want to stick G in a tutu soooooo bad.

  31. I may or may NOT (but mostly MAY) in love with that absolutely adorable costume. It is perfection. And then there is your daughter...super cute too.

I'm sure she'll be the bell of the halloween ball. And this just makes me break out in hives thinking about the fact that now I have to find a costume for my daughter. YIPES!

  39. Lovely costume!!!

My girl loves chicken nuggets too. With "dip-it" (honey mustard sauce). And a side of grapes and cheese.

Cause we LOVE cheese at our house.
    Yum.

  40. She is so flippin cuuuuute!

I have 3 daughters... all of them are going to wear tutus that I am going to make them. But I don't want them to be fairies. I love the peacock! I am thinking maybe a cowgirl for one, maybe a witch, but I am stumped as to what else. I need to start making these soon too!

  51. Shw looks awesome - still with that great smile. The big question: has she taken it off yet, and will it be too worn out by Halloween to still wear?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Great costume ... the tights are amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Oh. Dear. God.

I'm not sure how you do it. How do you find these things that are so phemonenally cute, yet age appropriate at the same time?

I really hope they make that costume for grownups. I don't think I'll look nearly as cute as she does, but I can try!
