Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your diary. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either.

--------------------------------

To wonder what in the world is going on with Randy Quaid. I mean, he helped save the world from aliens in Independence Day. Why is he spouting on about a secret mafia called the Star Wackers?

To not be sure if I’d like the vanilla lavender flavored donut that a magazine mentioned.

To enjoy watching the show Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.

To not understand why people layer their beds with all those decorative pillows. I tried to do that once and it lasted two days.

To love Pixie Stix. I sort of stole them out of my children’s Halloween bags.

To have been craving chicken in a bucket for the past week. KFC anyone?

To sometimes want to go, “I’m in the depths of despair, thanks,” when someone asks how I am. Just to see if they catch the Anne of Green Gables reference.

To wonder if Nicholas Sparks is romantic since he writes such sappy books.

To wish I could afford a makeup artist.

To know that Tom and I are not mature enough to ever try that Love Dare.

  1. I think Randy Quaid has lost his marbles. He's been in trouble for a while. I did love him in Independence Day though.

Lavender flavored donuts? Vanilla yes, lavender, no.

I always wonder if Stephen King likes to be scared because of his books too.

  2. Love the Anne of Green Gables reference!

  3. I think the makers of that donut are trying too hard to be trendy. If I'm going to eat a donut along w/all of its calories, it better taste good.

  4. Imagine if Sparks is a jerk...nah!
I love Dr. Quinn too, and about that Lavender donut, we just have to try it.

  5. I've often wanted to do your Anne of Green Gables reference...or just say "I'm awful" when someone asks how I'm doing. I hate that I always say "fine" even when I"m not.

  6. I have three big dogs. Pillows last 30 seconds on my bed. As does anything "decorative" in my house.

  7. randy quaid.. i know right.. right??

  8. What?! You don't believe the Star Whackers are real?? JK. Dude's sanity has left the building.

Just say no to the lavendar vanilla donut.

I ate some pixie sticks last night. Yum.

I don't know if Nicholas Sparks is romantic, but he is most definitely rich.

I always wanted to say I was suffering from melancholy. That's what they blamed women's problems on in the 1800s. Then they gave them opium. I'm not sure how that was supposed to help...

  11. Lavender in any type of food is gross!! I've tried it a bunch of times because the server is always like "I hate lavender in things but I swear it really good in this dessert or dish" They are all liars, it always tastes like dish soap. All I have to say about Sparks is

    ♥ Amazing ♥

  13. Lavendar is apparently the big new flavor in cooking right now. I don't know. Sounds like it would taste like an old lady.

  15. Lavender donuts ... I think it would compare to sucking on a bar of soap.
I totally tried putting all the pillows on my bed but gave up too. I don't see the point in making the bed when you're just going to get back in it in several hours.

  16. I've absolutely no problem looking at Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman for hours and hours and hours...

    :)

  17. I have a whole bag of pixie stix, you can totally have them.

Would you even believe that I've NEVER seen or read Anne of Green Gables? I know...apparently I'm so fired.

Lavender? I don't think I'm a fan. Unless of course it's my kids baby wash nighttime stuff, then I'm a BIG fan. But, it doesn't scream to me...eat me!

  18. Adore "Anne of Green Gables".

I got to go to a Nicholas Sparks book signing a few weeks ago and the first four or five of his books are based on true stories, which is both sweet and intensely sad when you think about it. For the record, he is very funny and (not relevant to the romantic inquiry) a lot more buff than I would have imagined for a guy that writes books so smushy and romantic. He also gave some hints on finding a literary agent, if you are interested! :)

  19. Love Green Gables and KFC is now calling my name... thanks for mentioning it!

  20. What is a love dare?

Also, sometimes I crave chicken in a bucket too, but I try to make it myself... I have this odd quirk about not trusting fast food.

  23. that donut sounds great.
and I didn't know how to spell donut, I had to refer back to your post -sigh-
And just make sure the Anne of Green Gables isn't confused with the Pit of Despair in Princess Bride. Either way - both fabulous references.

  24. I loooooove lavender. As a SCENT. Not a food. Yuck. And decorative pillows baffle me, too. They only ever seem to consistently decorate my floor. . .

  25. I always say, "Do you want the real answer or the polite one?" I'm freaking tired!!!!!!!!!

This post and all the wonderful comments is my favorite of the day!

  26. Someone just today asked me how I was and I said "fine!" and then thought about what would happen if I told her how I was really feeling...

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh my gosh, fried chicken. I need to get me some of that now!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I guess I really don't care about some social expectations or polite idle chatter. My response is usually the God's honest truth and I always feel better for telling it. Plus I get a big kick out of the bewildered faces when they expect the standard "fine, and you?" response.

Hmmm, now I really want some greasy extra crispy and a day on the couch watching Anne. LOVE that movie! Such a tragedy that my girls don't.

  33. Lavender food? No thanks.

I too confess I haven't read Anne of Green Gables... Uh Oh...

Must know about the Love Dare....

I just mentioned the KFC craving to my guy a few days ago. They have really good commercials is the problem.

I miss Dr. Quinn - is it still on???

    Love this post! Thanks!
