Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your diary. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either.

----------------------

To wonder why Natalie or Tommy feels the need to poop in the potty right after I’ve cleaned them. Tom used to do the same. Is it a marking their territory sort of thing?

To be weirded out when couples call each other “Mom” or “Dad.” My name is Amber and if my husband ever called me “Mom” I’d tell him to quit it.

To be ready for Easter treats. Like Cadbury Cream Eggs. I’ve already seen them out but they taste the best in April.

To have not watched the Grammys. I hear Lady Gaga arrived in an egg. And that Justin Bieber lost. ;) No, really, he seems like a nice kid, I just don’t think he’s talented enough to win a Grammy.

To not understand the chick on Facebook who said that she was broke but then in her next update she said she bought a new puppy. Um?

To feel mortally offended when someone outbids me at the last minute on eBay.

To be looking forward to the movie of the book Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. It comes out in May.

To want to go back to Disney World. We went in 2008 and I so want to visit again.

To think it’s cheesy when people propose on television.

To be grateful that my kids let me sleep in until 830 on weekends. I trained them at a young age to entertain themselves in the morning because I am not a morning person. I feel like because I gave them life, then they can give me at least until 830. Only fair.

  1. the BF's brother and his wife do that "Mommy" and "Daddy" thing. And their kid is only 6 months old. It drives me nuts. Every time he calls her "Mommy", I want to strangle him.

(Well, I also want to strangle him every time he says something like, "Ask you girlfriend if..." instead of asking me directly, especially when we're in the same room.)

(But maybe he is just afraid. I seem very stranglophile.)

  2. I heart Cadbury eggs! I saw them at the store yesterday..I'm going to try to resist as long as I can. :)

  3. i started teaching mine when she was 2 to be able to wake up & let me sleep a little longer. she's never been one to look for trouble when she's alone, and now that she's 8, sometimes she doesn't even wake me up at all & i'll wake up at 10 or 11 to find her happily drawing pictures or playing with her stuff, having already made her own breakfast & gotten dressed. it's great!

  4. To not want to throw dinner parties for Valentines Day.

  5. Oh, that last one sounds great. Mine's pretty good, but every so often, we get awakened at 5:30. And mommy is not happy. (I'm right with you regarding the parents called each other mom and dad. It used to eek me out when the Reagans did it.)

  6. You didn't miss much by way of missing Gaga at the Grammys. She arrived in an orb that looked like mucus and rumor has it she spent 3 hours in there alone between her entrance and her on-stage act. Just Gaga and her blackberry. I'm so not impressed!!!

    Happy Tuesday!

  7. I didn't watch the Grammys either. I didn't even know they were on until I started seeing stuff all over the web yesterday about Lady Gaga and this giant egg. wth?

  8. I am training my 3 year old to play QUIETLY in her room - especially when she gets up at 5:15!!! And Cadbury eggs are out at the stores already! Not sure even when Easter is but it is going to be a long jelly bean season I tell you!

  9. I didn't watch the Grammy's either, but I did watch Fashion Police last night!

And yeah, Bieber, you are 16!!! Stop your whining. I'm sure you'll get a Grammy for most ridiculous hair.

  10. My grandparents used to call each other Mom and Dad. It's ok, because they were 80ish. Not before then.

I didn't watch the Grammys either. Seems to get a little more rediciulous each year. I don't disagree that Beiber is talented, but the fact that he was up for a Grammy kinda makes me angry.

Oh my kids are trained like that too. Lemme tell ya, it gets better the older they get. :)

  11. My kids are well versed in Mama sleeping in on weekends. Juice boxes, milk and cereal are within easy reach. You can have a hot breakfast but you have to wait until 9.

  12. will you post a tutorial about training your kids to let you sleep? I'd jump all over that.

  13. I always feel mortally offended when someone outbids me on eBay. Especially when it's only by a penny or two. It's like they're out to get me or something.

  14. I SO want a Cadbury Cream Egg!

  15. I love you and all, but I am sorry to say that I will snipe your sorry Ebay ass any day.
    bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!

  16. I had a cadbury creme egg yesterday. They are basically my favorite things ever.
I am also weirded out by couples who call each other Mom and Dad. Mom and Dad should be saved for your mother and father only.
And I can't wait for Something Borrowed!

  17. Just wait - one of those Will Smith spawns will win a grammy before they are even 16. I think there should be a little time to prove you have some staying ability.

  18. I didn't watch the Grammy' either but I did see a video of "the arrival" of the egg. Weird.
I totally feel ya on the ebay thing. Though, I tend to try to be one of those that outbids at the last second and I end up in a bidding war. Hope I didn't do it to you!

  19. OMG, Emily Griffen's "Something Borrowed" Is being made into a movie?!

  20. I want a cadbury egg! They are the BEST easter candy!

    ReplyDelete
  21. We decided to watch a little of the Grammies just to see what we've been missing. Conclusion: we don't ever need to watch it again.

  22. Holiday candy only tastes that good during that specific holiday. Peppermints at Christmas, candy corn at Halloween.

  23. Disney does lots of military specials just in case you all look into going back:) They offer several specials on tickets and rooms... Even my favorite- cruises:)

  24. My parents call each other Mom and Daddy. Makes me shudder! LOL! I think it starts in referring to them that way in conversation. I usually say "your dad" but once in a while I drop the "your" and just say "dad" as in "Go ask dad." Maybe I'm on a slippery slope with no hope of recovery!

I didn't watch the Grammys either! Hung out with FOOD Network all evening! :)

  25. It's creepier when you here grown people address eachother as "Mommy" and "Daddy". It's just not right... It's almost bedroom talk.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Something borrowed is gonna be a movie! Eeek....who is going to be in it? And I'm totally with you on the "mommy", "daddy" thing. Julianne started calling us Jenn and Shaun instead of mommy and daddy and some of my friends were all "just have Shaun call you mommy" and I was all "um, no...yuck!"

  27. Haha, I just came across your blog and I'm your newest follower.

I especially liked your item #2. I was just wondering yesterday, why in the heck do couples call their significant other Mama or Daddy?? Weird.

  28. So with you on the "Mom" "Dad" thing. Ummm, no.

Also, Cadbury in general. I adore creme eggs, but I call the mini-eggs Cadbury Crack.

  29. So excited about Something Borrowed. And Gaga's "outfit?" Creepy. For real.

  32. YES - Easter candy. Or even St. Patrick's Day candy... I don't need much of an excuse to eat candy.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I agree!! The calling each other Mom or Dad is just weird. LOL. And my son was doing soo great with sleeping until 8:30- 9 a.m., but that has just stopped. I am not a morning person either.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh crap! I do the daddy thing sometimes. Don't judge me!

  35. We went to Disney in 08 as well. Looking like maybe 2012... if the world doesn't come to an end first.

I see those FB status-es all the time. Best one? My cousin was griping about their cel phone bill (it covers 7 people in the house). The next day there was a status by her 15 year old daughter who couldn't understand why her sister (SIX YEARS OLD) has an iphone. Um hello? I don't even have an iphone. -J

  36. 8:30 - that is impressive. If only that could happen every morning.

    ReplyDelete
  37. How did you train your kids to let you sleep?? I will need to do that when I have kids!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I once saw a blogger do a request asking for donations to help pay her bills. Her next post talked about her 3 drinks a day at Starbucks. Not to be judgmental, but if you're having problems paying bills, then maybe you should make coffee at home, perhaps?

  39. proposals in general are cheesy! hahaha

I didn't know you followed my stepdaughter! Hmmmm...
