Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your diary. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either.

----------------------

To be bummed that I can’t get an iPhone 4. See, I upgraded my phone about a year ago so if I want the $199 price, I have to wait until I upgrade again. Otherwise it’s $600. And I don’t poop out money so it’s a no go…boo…I can get one in April 2012.

To have really enjoyed The King’s Speech. I highly recommend it. That’s the type of royal story I’ll gladly watch.

To wonder why Kate Gosselin still has a show.

To like the idea of pajama jeans (comfort!) but I will never wear them out in public. Unless it’s really early in the morning since I’m not totally alert. I could spot the pajama jeans and be all, “Pants!”

To miss Gilmore Girls. There really aren’t a lot of funny shows like that one. I do like Cougar Town though. And Happy Endings has been making me chuckle.

To love popping in Sleepless in Seattle when I’m in the mood for a feel good movie.

To have stocked up on Cadbury Crème Eggs when they went 50% off. I currently have 10 in my drawer.

To love restaurant rolls. The ones at Texas Roadhouse? Fantastic. Red Lobster? Yum.

To be tempted to get a waffle maker.

To have given my children’s teachers a small gift (think chocolate, candles…) in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. If you can’t afford a gift, perhaps have your child write a thank you note to their teacher? If you homeschool, buy yourself some chocolate for a job well done ;)

  1. One of the first AND WORST arguments the wife and I had was when I ate her roll at a restaurant.

I didn't know it was her favorite part and THAT was why she was "saving it" for last. I just thought she wasn't going to eat it.

    HUGE mistake.

  2. I grabbed some of the Cadbury Eggs at 50% off too! YUM! Gonna miss them when they're gone!

  3. The King's Speech was a really great movie! Now every time my husband or I get angry, we say, " Don't make me go all George the 6th on you!" Loved it!

Kate: Could you please raise you kids the way the rest of us do: Put your kids in front of the TV not on it! Enough is enough already! ;)

  4. Hmmm...I might have to see Kings Speech now, thought it looked lame. You might have convinced me otherwise!

PS - I feel the same way, its a toss up currently between the waffle maker and bread maker.

  5. I love the rolls at Logan's, O'Charlie's and Red Lobster... yum.

  6. A waffle maker - as in a waffle iron? If you don't have one- get one! We eat breakfast food for dinner all of the time!!

  8. I wonder about Kate Gosselin too. I can't stand to watch her show anymore. I feel really bad for her kids....

  9. I want some of pajama jeans.. but I can't really imagine them actually looking like jeans. If you get some.. let me know! and I miss Gilmore Girls.. so much. I loved everything about that show.

  11. We have a waffle maker, haven't used it in a while, have to pull it out - thanks for the reminder. Come on over, I'll make waffles for you! (no rolls though)

  13. I often go to restaurants based solely on their rolls.

  14. Completely with you on Gilmore Girls. I've bought a few seasons on DVD just so I can still indulge!

And we brought my son's teacher some flowers today planted in a pot that he painted for her.
Thank you to all the teachers out there!!

  15. I love my waffle maker...you should defnitely get one!

    Chocolate candles?! FUN!

  16. I can eat SIX of the logans rolls- they're my secret vice and the ONLY reason I even go there.
Does that make me "addicted to food"?

  17. LOVE Red Lobster rolls. Brian hates them and I just can't comprehend it.

I too want a waffle maker. I just wonder what it would do to the breakfast expectations in my house.

  18. What a great idea for a blog post! I too am in with love Cadbury Creme eggs. I love Sleepless in Seattle, Gilmore Girls and Cougar Town and totally agree with the Kate Gosselin comment. She's frightens me a little bit. You should TOTALLY get a waffle maker. We use ours a lot more than I ever thought we would....especially now that we have children.

And now I want to go to Red Lobster.

  21. I really miss Gilmore girls too! I kinda feel like I lost a good friend when that show went off the air (I was obviously a little over invested!)

I really like this Tuesday post - glad you started it.

  22. Loved the Kings Speech! My daughter ate my cadbury egg and I'm still pissed off about it! I think you should pick some flowers from your neighbors yard or along the route to school and give that to them for teachers appreciation week.

  23. Texas Roadhouse rolls ROOOCCCKKK. I just want to eat those with tons of their butter. Yumyumyum.

shyanne from reba is in it..
and kitty from that 70's show!

  25. I was at the local drugstore BEFORE they opened the day after Easter to make sure I got the best selection of the discounted candy!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I really want to see The King's Speech! I can now con my husband into seeing it bc 'I blog stalk someone and they liked it' WIN!
I would buy the pajama jeans.. but they're $40! AND! you don't even get to 'act now and get 2 pajama jeans for the price of 1!' Just a lousy t-shirt!
*I think I have a recipe for the Red Lobster rolls! YUM!

    ReplyDelete
  27. You should TOTALLY get a waffle iron - I don't remember where I saw it, but there is a recipe for making chocolate chip cookies in a waffle iron - they cook in 90 seconds!

And I 110% agree with the Kate Gosselin comment. Ugh.

  28. MMmmm...Cadbury Creme Eggs.

I would wear yoga pants everywhere before wearing Pajama Jeans in public....but that's just me.

The rolls from Golden Corral...those things are delicious.

    ReplyDelete
  29. First things first....Kate Gosselin is a troll. The end.

Get a waffle maker, they're fab.

Rolls, of any kind, are gifts from God. Texas Roadhouse rolls, there are no words. YUM!

And finally...I have never been able to get on the cadbury egg wagon. They have always grossed me out. Not sure why, just do. But, my husband lurves them.

Finally part two....good for you for getting your kids teachers something. That is fantastic. My Mom and sisters are teachers, well fine, so am I in some way, and it means so much to them when people give them thank yous and gifts.

  30. I make a Gluten Free bread that tastes exactly like red Lobster's cheddar bay biscuts.

    Honest it does.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have like 15 Cadbury eggs out and another 15 in the freezer.

Find out if the kids will want to eat waffles---if they do, then get it! But only tell them you'll do it on the weekends. That way school mornings won't be a cluster. ;)

  32. Well, thanks for making me drool. Just thinking about those cheesy biscuits at Red Lobster is making me salivate. DELISH!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I love my waffle maker! I bought an inexpensive one and I use it to make my kids panini sandwiches as well.

Missed the whole Cadbury egg hoarding this year. Damn!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Cute post! And I love 'me' some restaurant rolls. Golden Corral also has yummy ones with honey butter.

    ReplyDelete
  35. My husband bought us a waffle maker from Macy's this weekend. I have never loved him more ;) And there's a restaurant in the South called FATZ- they deep fry their poppy seed rolls and serve them with cinnamon honey butter- YUM!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. If you buy a waffle maker, I'm coming over.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Have you seen the Cadbury Egg Minis? They are amazing and packaged in a tiny little egg carton.

    ReplyDelete
  38. King's Speech was the best movie I've seen in years. SO great to just see straight drama, without the need of so many special effects.

    ReplyDelete
  39. My Nanny used to order extra rolls at Red Lobster right before we left so that she could wrap a couple up for us to put in our purses. Sad, but totally worth it--especially if your grandmother is encouraging it.

The King's Speech? Brilliant. I am a speech therapist and think they hit it dead-on. . . not to mention that Colin Firth was genius.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I agree with you on Kate. She needs to go bye-bye.
Good for you giving a gift to your kids teachers!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I love It's Okay Tuesday! It gives me a great excuse to justify some of those crazy thoughs in my head. Thanks for giving me permission.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Get a waffle maker- I LOVE mine! Ok, ours because technically I gave it to my husband for some holiday or another because I wanted one desperately and occasionally will make him breakfast in bed so it evens out, right? And Texas Roadhouse rolls make my world go round.

    ReplyDelete
  43. We gave our daughter's teacher a mini-rose potted plant. It was like $4 at Trader Joe's!

Teachers work hard and deserve a little thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I miss Gilmore Girls too! Somehow the dialogue on Housewives of Anything just isn't up to par...

    ReplyDelete
  45. My sweetie makes the world's most amazing Belgian waffles! I'm telling you, that waffle maker would be a terrific investment. Just keep it to once a month or you will be buying a new wardrobe as well.
