Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your diary. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either.

----------------------
To not be surprised that Kate + 8 was cancelled. All it showed was the kids going somewhere or getting MORE stuff for free.

To love most of the drinks that experts say you should avoid since they contain over 1000 calories. Oops.

To hope I can go for a consultation on Lasik. I’m leaning towards ClearSight since it has fabulous reviews.

To think the DVR was the greatest invention. Ever. I mean, after electricity of course.

To really want to eat at Hell’s Kitchen. I’ve said this before but I think I’d crack up over Gordon yelling. Plus, you don’t totally starve. You have a bread basket. I’ll just load up on carbs and watch the show.

To love my pizza spicy. I add crushed red pepper and drops of tobasco sauce to mine. It’s even rumored that spicy foods help your metabolism.

To worry about Tommy’s spelling. It’s atrocious. I always said I didn’t want kids who didn’t know the difference between your and you’re.

To hate when all I get in the mail are bills.

To not have a fall/winter/spring/summer wardrobe. It’s all clothes. And they all stay in my closet. I don’t change much up aside for long sleeve vs. short sleeve. Does that make me boring? Or practical?

  1. That last one - I'm the same way. This morning I was getting dressed for work and said for the millionth time "I NEED NEW CLOTHES!" I want a fall/winter/spring/summer wardrobe because it'll make me feel adult. haha!

  2. I think it makes you practical and there's nothing wrong with that. I have work clothes and not work clothes, aka PJ's. BORING!

Its worrisome when you kids can't seem to master simple things. Keep working with him as you do and he'll come along!

I'm SO glad Kate + 8 was canceled. She is SO annoying, more so now that she doesn't have Jon to bash.

    happy Tuesday!

  3. It will be interesting to see how Kate's 8 will adjust to real life and a lack of freebies at their disposal.

  4. I have always wished I had a different wardrobe for every season! But with as few clothes as I have (especially decent items), I'm not even sure you could call it a "wardrobe" at all.

  5. Your so funny. You're husband is a lucky man.

    :)

Except for the spicy pizza thing. That's just wrong.

  6. I think it makes you practical. I am the same way. I usually just wear jeans and a shirt that fits the season I am in.

  7. Everyday I hope there is a check for a basquillion dollars in the mail. Usually just more bills. Or credit card applications.

  8. kate plus8 is no loss in my book. and I LOOOOOVE DVR. and crushed red pepper is good on almost everything!

  9. I 90% of my bills via email, so it makes the mailbox run not so depressing.
Also can't live without the DVR. I don't watch a single thing live anymore. No, I take that back, I watch a lot of live cartoons. Maybe I should start DVR'ing cartoons?

  10. I'm the same way with my clothes! All of them are always in the closet, and the only difference is the "Fall collection" includes sweaters and the "Summer collection" has tank tops. I say it makes us practical. :-)

  11. I had Lasik done and once I could get over what they did to my eyes it was the best thing ever to wake up without glasses!!

And Kate plus 8, could have seen that coming....

  12. I say the closet makes you practical. Love my pizza spicy too.

  13. I didn't even know that Kate + 8 was even still on the air!

  14. Our Family LOVES Gordan & Hell's Kitchen!! I thought all the diners leaving last night after no food or only apps was great!! I would love to go eat there as well for the show!

  15. Tommy doesn't do his work on the computer (with spell check?)

  16. I would give up food before I would give up my DVR.

  17. I don't really have season clothes either - except spring and summer I mostly wear capris and jeans the rest of the year. :)

  18. lol..
yea i don't have a seasonal wardrobe either.. but of course, when you live down here and in the middle of January it could be 95 degrees... you really MUST have access to ALL your clothes ALL the time!!!

  19. I'm totally thinking I need to give this format a shot! I love it!

Also....I just have clothes, but really we don't have 4 seasons here in FL so I don't know if that counts. I do love my DVR though more than just about anything!

  20. I do not have a spring/summer/fall/winter wardrobe. I have a stained/unstained wardrobe. And the unstained is only a matter of time before it goes in the stained.

I used to find Jon & Kate Plus 8 really cute when it first aired. Now it's just sad. Really, really sad.

  21. Ok..I tried my hand at this today and added a link to your blog! :P

  22. Yeah, karma has a way of shoving our faces in our "I'll never have a kid who..." proclamations. I always said I'd never have a kid who whines, so I was blessed with my youngest child just to make sure I knew I was not in charge of the universe.

Not that I'm complaining, she's 25 now and a lovely young woman with nary a nasal twang, but the sound of "Mo-m-o-om" on a sitcom still give me chills.

  23. I don't have wardrobes for seasons, either. It's more like, things that have stains from dirty toddlers and things that don't. You can guess which I end up wearing more frequently!

  24. Um, it is okay that we had wild coyotes hooting in our backyard last night because that is part of the joys of moving to my first house in the country. I think.

PS following you on twitter via flgirlmidwest.

  25. When we moved out to the country three months ago, we gained sanity, but lost the PVR. I'm not sure if my sanity was worth losing it :-)

  26. It's a bad world in which the drinks have as many calories as the eats. The end is nigh.

  27. Great list! I am with you on the DVR being one of the ultimate inventions. Also, I would like to add Netflix on demand.

  28. I don't own a DVR or Tivo. My VCR finally died so I may have to finally join everyone else in the 21st century.

I couldn't even make it through one season of Jon & Kate because she was just so nails-on-the-chalkboard to watch. I can't imagine what the Kate show must have been like... well, obviously not that great!

I live in an area of the country that has two seasons - colder & warmer. My colder wardrobe consists of mostly tennis shoes and my cute boots. Warmer mostly sandals. The clothes are the same in both. During the colder, I wear my jackets outside and take them off when I get to work. During the colder, I carry my jackets and put them on at work because the psychos here think since it's 83 degrees outside, it should be 68 degrees inside.

  29. My wardrobe is really boring too. Work clothes and jeans. Eh, who has the extra money for a fancy wardrobe when you've got kids, right?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't either....have different wardrobes for different seasons. All in the same closet and mixed in the same dresser.

Hopefully Kate's children can actually grow up now without the cameras following them everywhere. And have a REAL Life!

Would you believe I don't have DVR....Never have used it so I guess I don't know what I'm missing.

  31. I was just telling my bf that I want to go eat at Gordon Ramsey's kitchen!!

I didn't have a different weather wardrobe until I moved somewhere with weather. Now I have a winter and summer wardrobe bc I like tanks and long sleeves. I just layer.

  32. I still can't figure out if the iPod/iPad/iPhone tops the DVR. It's close.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm up for a visit to Hell's Kitchen! I secretly love Gordon Ramsey.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh, how I want Lasik. I haven't heard of ClearSight. I live under a rock sometimes.

I think it would be fun to eat at Hell's Kitchen, too. As long as they kept that bread coming.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I always wondered how much it would cost to eat at Hell's Kitchen -- or not eat? Do you need a special invite?

I don't know how I survived without a DVR? ..seriously.. *and sometimes, I find myself trying to fast forward the radio.. that's kind of sick...

I'll have to look into ClearSight - I've never heard of it...

Those fancy dessert drinks are awesome! Why does everything good have to be so bad?? :(

    ReplyDelete
  36. I love spicy pizza. Yum. And I don't have special wardrobes for different seasons, either.
