So It's Labor Day

Happy Labor Day!

We couldn’t decide what we wanted to grill so we have hamburgers, bratwurst, and hot links.

I ought to get some potato salad, too.

OH and some sort of dessert.

What are you having on Labor Day?

(And are you planning on wearing white after Labor Day?)

(I am.)

  1. I will wear white after today. Knowing the weather in Texas it will turn back into Satan's oven in a few days and white will be totally appropriate.

  2. I'm doing nothing -- I'm exhausted, between Irate Irene, mother issues and toting the boys everywhere. I FEEL like a hurricane myself. Hurricane Sandra! There's a blog I should write! So just posted a new blog, then today is all about getting boys ready for school which was delayed in starting tomorrow. A lot of cathcing up to do, now that we actually have POWER back.

  3. I don't even wear white BEFORE Labor Day. Okay, I used to, but those pants don't fit any more. I'll wear white shoes, but only because they are my tennies. It gets cold and snowy here, so we have to show some respect for the seasons. :-)

  4. I don't wear a lot of white (mostly because I spill everything) but I've never been one to follow this rule. In Florida no one really does because it's always hot and white is a good way to beat the heat.

  5. I'll wear white 24/7 but not white pants. I'm too old for that!

And we've been grilling since Friday. I think we did the grill proud.

  7. My mother's birthday party was yesterday, so we are cooking up everything that will go bad if we don't. :)

OH... and left over wedding cake... so much cake...

  9. We're not doing anything exciting, and I'm making the anti-American meal of spicy orange chicken. We sorta forgot that today was Labor Day for the most part! lol

  11. I took the kids to a pizza buffet. We are in such a high fire danger right now (Bastrop is all ablaze right now) that grilling out could very well cause our house to burn down.

  12. Chopped pork BBQ, cajun fries, grilled corn on the cob, salad, and of course- sweet tea! Only because I am 40 weeks pregnant and my husband has no other choice than to indulge my last few pregnancy cravings ;) Oh and we have Caramel Chocolate Cake for dessert.. perfect Labor Day meal, I think! Hope you have a good one!

  14. We are actually "laboring" today! Guess it's as good a time as any to finish those last projects before school start!

  15. God, I can hear my mother in my head "you can't wear white after labor day unless it's winter white". Funny how that sticks with you. Here in the south where the summer isn't over yet, I am wearing white as long as I can.

  16. It's Labor Day?? Just kidding.

We've nothing special planned, just trying to get through another hot and humid day.

Of course, I will wear white - I just bought a new pair of shoes and they MUST be shown off!

  19. We actually had shrimp soup that my husband made. . . but we went to a huge cookout on Saturday, so it's okay! And regardless of the time of year that it is, I doubt I'll ever wear white until my kids are in high-school. No matter how hard I work to avoid it, they always manage to touch me with their grubby paws :/
