Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your blog. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either. Just make sure you link up!

To have really liked Branson, Missouri. The only thing that bugged me was the traffic and the fact that people could smoke in restaurants.

To need to wrap most presents so I’m not doing them all the night before. I’ve done this before. Not fun.

To be glad that Max the Cat only left us one hairball when we went to Missouri. He tends to barf when he’s nervous.

To be excited over the new Men in Black 3 movie. The trailer was just released! (And I was in New York when it was being filmed there!)

To be thankful that Jennifer and Mindy (in the wedding attendance!) took tons of wedding pictures.

To love the regular peppermint candy canes. There are so many flavors these days but peppermint is still my favorite.

To think I am getting sick. I was up on and off since 1 with an upset stomach. Does anyone else cry when they vomit or is it just me? That being said, if I'm not better, there might not be an entry tomorrow. If there isn't, it means I've vomited. And I'm crying.

To think it's sad that Michelle Duggar had a miscarraige. It's a shame people are saying she deserved it and that it's God's way of saying she shouldn't have anymore kids. No one deserves that heartbreak.

To want to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie. I think Tom and I will be able to see it since Tom's Mom is here for Christmas. I'm just as excited over the nachos and movie theater popcorn.

  1. No one deserves to have a miscarriage. And whoever is saying she did is mean!

I also love to go to a movie as much for the popcorn as for the actual movie :)

  2. I feel bad for Michelle Duggar. I do. But it's a simple law of averages. When you've had that many pregnancies, some are bound to end in miscarriage. I read this is her second one. She had her first one early on which is what spurred her to have a lot of kids. The fact that a woman at her age has had two miscarriages out of 21 pregnancies is actually really amazing! I know that doesn't help her pain, but she's really done well considering. The analytic side of me is impressed. My track record isn't as good! LOL

  3. Hmmm. Like this list will work on one of my own. Mostly I am OK with reading your blog instead of cleaning the horse barn

  4. Wow a 3rd Men in Black. I saw the first, but didn't realize there was a 2nd.

Have you tried Peppermint Oreos? My boyfriend is a peppermint freak and he tries it all.

Yes, I too cry when I get sick. I hate vomiting.

It is very sad and I find it deplorable that people use God to inflict pain like it's her fault.

  5. I wish I could just cry when I vomit.... I tend to pee a little. attractive image, I know.
Most of my gifts are wrapped now too. But then I remembered the pain in the butt it was last year when we had to get everything out of the boxes...with those stupid, little ties and all the glue, and nails -- WTH? nails in kiddie toys....ugh. I should have just taken everything out of the boxes and just leave them under the tree.
I feel a strongly worded post directed to toy manufacturers coming on...
I didn't hear that about Ms. Duggar. regardless of any personal opinion, how heartbreaking. to lose any child - no matter how many you may already have - is awful.

  6. With each of my miscarriages has come the usual statements "it wasn't meant to be", "it's not the right time", etc.

The statement that had always hurt me the most (and I still cringe when I hear someone say it - "You can always try again".

I didn't realise there was a worse statement out there until I saw the words "It's God's way of saying DON'T try again".

Mrs Duggar has my fully empathy and sympathy for having to go through something so sensitive and painful under the constant speculation. Yes, they invited the camera in, but people need to have a little more compassion and consideration for grief!

On a lighter note - when I vomit I cry too! It's not just you :)

  7. I agree about Michelle Duggar. That family gets a lot of judgment, but the fact is they're able to support themselves (despite their size) and their kids are healthy and happy. How can you argue with that? People say they’re being punished for their choices, but they’re not hurting anyone, so I don’t see what the problem is. Anyway, I agree… no one deserves that kind of heartbreak.

  8. A miscarriage is a sad tragedy. The end. No matter who it happens to.

  9. No one deserves a miscarriage. That is just cruel.

I am looking forward to Men in Black and Sherlock Holmes too.

  10. I hope you aren't getting sick - You got two movies to see (and I want to see them too!)

  11. I plan on seeing the new Sherlock Holmes, too. Should be good times. No getting sick, ya hear?! And I think that Michelle Duggar was perfectly candid when she said that the Lord is the giver of life and can decide when that life should be with Him. And even though I think that's true, miscarriages are terribly sad. But who knows? Maybe she will conceive again and carry to term.

  12. I'm with you on the candy canes. Nothing tops peppermint!

About the smoking in Branson, I haven't come across public smoking in so long now that I know it would bother me too. Funny how fast we get used to that!

  13. I agree with everyone else about the miscarriage. No one deserves that.

  14. I am never excited to see action movies but whenever I do see them with my husband I am always entertained. I loved the first 2 MIB so I am sure this one will be great as well.

  15. (strong) Peppermint makes me sneeze. It's a perfectly fine flavor, but sneezing isn't that fun so I avoid it.

I hope you're not getting sick! I cry a little when I throw up too...it's like my body is getting rid of any excess fluid. So attractive...

A loss is a loss and should be respected, not used as a basis for judgement or critique. I think we're a little too guilty of feeling like we have some sort of rights to people's private lives even when they are public figures. Sigh. I feel badly for them.

  16. I hope you are feeling better. I cry when I throw up and not the cute little "hallmark commercial" cry, but the big ugly life is over cry. Every. Time.

  17. I'm so with you on Michelle Duggar. I mentioned that to my Mom last night and she was like, "That b**** killed another baby." I just stared at her. I was like, "That was the meanest thing I've ever heard in my life. No one should have to suffer through the pain of miscarriage."

  18. I agree with you about the duggars. I was reading comments on one of the articles, and it made me so sad to see people being so heartless.

  19. I agree, I feel so terrible for Michelle Duggar. It's hard enough having to go through a miscarriage...even worse when it's in the public eye. And, wasn't she pretty far along? I can't imagine the pain they must be feeling.

I hope you're feeling better soon. I tend to swear when I throw up because I'm so mad that I am.

I love Men In Black...even the second one...and I don't usually like sequels. I didn't even know there was a third one coming out, thanks for the heads up!

  20. I agree on the Michelle Duggar miscarriage. Having family and friends who have had painful miscarriages, when a child is cherished from the first moment, miscarriage is sad, no matter what # child.
