Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your blog. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either. Just make sure you link up and that the post you link up with is an Hey, It's Okay post.

-------------

To refuse to make my own laundry soap. Tide works fine for me. The other might save money in the long run but I’ll stick to Tide. (Hey, I do use coupons when I buy it!)

To be bummed that St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Saturday. Natalie has a really cute outfit. Ahh well. She’ll just wear it Friday.

To have to sit out Gymboree’s Fill A Bag sale. It starts tomorrow. Everything is 30% off, including clearanced items. And yes, you can use a coupon on top of that. There is a 20% off coupon in the latest Parents magazine.

To not be a fan of Colton on Survivor. What an ass.

To think it was funny that some people thought it was inappropriate for Vivienne Jolie-Pitt (daughter or Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt) to be out wearing lipstick. Um. Who cares? My daughter loves to put on my makeup.

To cringe whenever I have to fill up the car with gas. Actually, since I have a Honda Insight which is a hybrid, it's not SO bad. But Tom's truck? Yeah. Cringe worthy.

To love that it’s supposed to be in the 70s and 80s this week.

To hate flying to begin with and now worry that the next time I do I'll have to worry about a ranting flight attendant. There was one last week who lost her marbles.

  1. Thanks for the heads up on the Gymboree sale. I hate Colton too. I'm sure there is anyone yet that I want to root for this season.

  2. I didn't really think you could make your own laundry soap, shows how much I know! I would be too afraid of some how messing something up and ruining my clothes. So I agree to stick with my store bought laundry detergent.

St. Patrick's Day is this Saturday? Oh geeze! I completely forgot!

That's silly about people thinking its inappropriate for Vivienne to be wearing lipstick, I'm sure she was just having fun.. Unless there is a law against that too, haha.

  3. My girls are all bummed about St. Patty's day being on a Saturday too. I don't know why I hadn't thought about letting them wear their outfits on Friday. It's not like anyone will really see them on Saturday.
Thanks for that. I'll be sure to give all of the credit to you ;-)

  4. I'm kinda glad St Patty's Day falls on a Saturday and its a Saturday that I don't have J! Sounds like party time to me!

how do you even start making your own laundry soap? Doesn't is just come in a bright orange bottle? :)

  5. I'm not much of a soap maker myself. My husband is out of town on Saturday so I am off the hook for making any traditional irish fare. :-)

  6. I thought the Jolie-Pitt kiddo wearing lipstick was cute. they're little who cares?! and I'm with you on the laundry soap. I'm all for saving money but that's just weird.

  7. Why do you have to miss the sale? This just seems so wrong!!!

That flight attendant was just nutz!!!

Little girls play with makeup - what's wrong with these haters???

Who makes their own laundry detergent??? Am I missing something here?

  8. Colton seemed like a sweet little underdog in the beginning. Now he is a total assey douchebag!

  9. That flight attendant rant was so outrageous! She totally lost it!

  10. I seriously can't believe the focus on one of the Jolie-Pitt kids possibly wearing lipstick. Really? Because there are only a million things happening that are more important but okay. And hey I like entertainment news just as much as the next guy but seriously.

  11. Okay, clearly I have been out of the loop due to my kids wanting to watch the damn cartoon network all the time so I'm not up on all the latest news and gossip.

My 7-year old daughter loves to wear my lipstick. Can't believe people were freaking out about Vivienne wearing it. She's a little girl who likes to play dress up. What's the big deal, right?

I'll have to google the info on the crazy flight attendant. Now, I'm just curious!!!

  12. Made my own laundry soap before and it made my clothes gray. Went back to TIDE and all is right with the world.

  13. I could care less about the lipstick too. Some people get all worked up over such little things!

  14. Love this! I will never make my own laundry detergent, either. That is just going waaaaaay too far. I'm lucky if I make dinner. And thanks for the Gymboree tip- time to go elbow some other moms out of the way. Thanks for coming to visit me yesterday on my SITS day!

  15. I had to fill up our minivan this morning. I wanted to cry.

  16. I was bummed St Patty's Day is on a weekend too but then because it is my oldest gets to have a performance. She takes Irish Dance so the school set up a littler performance for the school to do routines in the mall. Should be cute. :)

Colton is TOTALLY an ass, I agree!

My girls wear make-up all the time. It's part of the fun of being a kid. It's not like she is whoring around, its all about play to them not being sexy, they don't know that yet.

I have a Suburban & the hubs drives an F150... gas sucks us dry for sure!

  17. Yep, I'll stick to Tide too. Ya should see the stuff I have to get out in the laundry 'round here. Second thought...you probably shouldn't see it, it's not for the faint of heart. Heeehehehe!

I loved this post...it was fun.

God bless ya sweetie and have yourself a sunshiny kinda day!!! :o)

  18. I try not to think about how gas costs here...it makes me sad. Thank goodness I drive a Grand Prix, which is pretty good on gas.

  19. I have to fill up my minivan tomorrow and I'm scared. Very scared.

  20. The other day we ran out of dryer sheets, so I took a wet wash cloth and poured some softener on - totally worked and I felt all Martha - without the shackles ...

  21. I'd love a ranting flight attendant! It will take the attention off of me.

I want a hybrid. I'm hoping to buy one soon.

We might get snow nearby us this weekend. Go figure!

  22. I am just pretending St. Patricks Day is Friday so I can give the kids some fun stuff and Lila can wear her crazy green headband with shamrocks from the dollar store.

  23. I don't necessarily make my own laundry soap, but now I've just started using Borax and soap nuts. It works well!

And the lipstick thing... I thought it was dumb how people overreacted. Let a kid wear lipstick if she wants to!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Right there with you on the laundry soap thing. I'm so glad I'm not alone on that...I was feeling like I was the only person on the planet not remotely interested!

  25. I'm sticking to Tide as well.

And you're so right about Colton. The first few episodes he was okay but he totally blew it last week. Narrow minded jerk was my too kind desciption for him.

We had to pay 4.23 per gallon last time we fueled up. Actually make that 4.24 Whats with the .9 thing? Don't they realize it's almost the same as another penny and the last I checked my final bill had even cents. What happened to the .9 there?
