Things That Annoy Me Thursday: Is There More At The End Of Movies?

"Should we stay? Lots of people are staying? I never know if we should stay!" I whispered to Tom after the credits started popping up for Frozen.

It seems to be the thing these days for movies to have special clips at the end of the film when the credits are finished rolling. The thing is, not ALL movies do this. So sometimes you're left going, "Should I stay? Or should I go now?" There needs to be a message at the beginning of the film of something, "Stay at the end of the film for a special feature." But there never is. So you NEVER KNOW.

It turns out there WAS a special clip at the end of Frozen. But how would we know? Plus, Tom is the type of person who doesn't like to wait. If a movie is over, he's not going to sit around and watch a two minute feature.

We also took the kids to see Free Birds. There probably was something at the end of that too.

I'm going to see Catching Fire this weekend. Is there something at the end of THAT? Please let me know now.

Seriously.

Stop it, movies.

Let people KNOW what's going on.

  1. Funny you mention that because I hadn't heard about the Frozen one at all. However when the movie ended, they didn't turn the lights on! People all left in the dark. I know from my experience with movies and concerts, that usually means a special ending or encore.
    So we stayed.
Then the lights went on! Fake out? So we started to leave until a man saw us and said, "No, stay. You're right. There's an ending."
    And we rather liked it!

  3. The AMC movie app tells you if there are things in the credits, and the best times to take a bathroom break. You can also buy your movie tickets and get movie listing. It's a great app

  5. There is also a site called aftercredits.com (I think that's what it is) that tells you if there is anything during the credits and/or after the credits. I always check that before the movie starts.

  6. Actually, my husband and I enjoy staying all the way to the end of every movie. He likes to read the credits. I like to make fun of him for reading the credits! :)

  10. That's on my list of reasons we hardly ever go to the movie - we just buy the DVD - if you ever need a movie I'm sure we have it!!!

  11. Although I have noticed that sometimes even when there is a special ending after the credits the theater staff still come in and start cleaning while you are sitting there!

  13. I mainly only wait around for the Marvel ones, because I'm a big geek like that :) Sometimes I find them on YouTube after, though, so all is not lost.
