Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your blog. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either. Just make sure you link up and that the post you link up is a Hey, It's Okay Post. Grab the button if you'd like!

To not understand when people say they don't find Drop Dead Fred funny (or tell me they've never seen it. You MUST! It's hilarious!)

To have liked the Grey's Anatomy finale, but not be on board with the whole Weber's daughter thing.

To be scared that my kids get off school on Friday.

To hope Tom and I can see Godzilla tomorrow while the kids are in school.

To be glad that other people have the same problem with shopping at Target like I do.

To have a book perfect for a beach read. You can purchase my novel, The Swimmer's Assistant for only .99 cents here! And if you have read it, could you please leave a review? I'm almost at 40 reviews! Thank you so much to those who have.

To be bummed that Enlisted was canceled. I liked that show. It was amusing.

To be excited to go out with my friend Jennifer on Friday. It's her birthday so we're going to try out KDs, which is Kevin Durant's restaurant. I could give a rat's ass about basketball, but there's southern food. And they have fried green tomatoes!

To always tell Tommy not to look so horrified when he gets a haircut. It always scares the barber. I explain that he has autism and that it's a sensory thing.

  1. Okay, I have never seen or hear of Drop Dead Fred, I'll have to look for it.

I also thought Enlisted was funny!

I totally understand your fear ... summer can be very long.

  2. I'm not a mom (just a stepmom), so it always amuses me that parents see kids being out of school with fear. I can relate, but I thought it was a stepmom thing. When she was younger, I was always terrified that she'd get bored--and it was exhausting at times! Now she's on her electronics most of the time when she's here. But I thought moms somehow had it all together and knew stuff I didn't.

  3. I'm excited about Webber's daughter and how her relationship will be with Meredith once she finds out too! I'm really excited about having three Shonda Rhimes shows on Thursdays this fall. How to get away with murder looks like it is going to be a good one too.

Hope you get to see Godzilla!

  11. A while back, I had a girl's movie night and we ended up watching DDF because one of my friends said it was her favorite movie. It's funny and all, but not one of my favorites. I just wish time could freeze so Phoebe Cates could still be in her 20s or 30s and star in lots of chick flicks. :)

  12. I love fried green tomatoes! If you get them, enjoy for me.

I would buy your book but I'm opposed to Kindles!

  13. OMG Drop Dead Fred! I totally forgot about that movie. I NEED to find it so my step-son can watch it. He would LOVE IT! Thanks for reminding me about it and the trip down memory lane :)

  15. You don't like Harry Potter. I've never seen Drop Dead Fred. Call it even??

  16. I've never even heard of Drop Dead Fred. But you have good taste, so if you say it's funny, it probably is.

I actually made sure I had both of your books on my Kindle so that I can re-read them while in Cuba...they are def the perfect beach read =)

Your kids get out SUPER early...in Ontario, school goes until the end of June. Good luck!!

  17. The end of the school year always makes me sad. I have no idea why but I get weepy. I bought your book. Now to get time to read it. I need a vacation.

  18. I agree about Weber's daughter being a bit out there. Do they have to give Meredith another sister?

  19. I watched Drop Dead Fred sooo long ago and loved it.

Im terrified of my kids getting out of school Friday!

  20. Des needs a haircut this weekend and I think I'll be the horrified one. It's always in his eyes. And I don't want to chase bangs either. No good in between yet.
I loved Drop Dead Fred but it's been YEARS!

  21. One benefit of being a full-time working mother is that my husband, who works from home, gets to deal with the kids all summer. Hahahaha to him. :-)

I will admit that I'm kind of excited about Meredith's sister/Richard's daughter. It will be really interesting to see how she affects his relationship with Meredith and even Bailey.

  22. We're bummed about Enlisted too!

I LOVED Drop Dead Fred. Seriously. I need to rewatch it. It's been too long.

My mom says I use to have an imaginary friend when I was little. I wish I could remember him.

  23. The Weber's daughter thing is stretching it a little...I guess they're really starting to hurt for a story line. I'm still upset Cristina Yang won't be a part of it anymore!

  24. I really like what they chose to do with Christina's character. I don't like that she left, but the way that she did made sense. No crazy bus death, no walking away unexplained, no plane crash. I think they were worried there wasn't enough drama, so they added Weber's daughter.

I'll have to go see if I've left you a review on your book. I did put it on my Keepers reads of 2014 list on my blog, though!

  25. Drop Dead Fred is awesome!
How can anyone have not seen that one??!!
I mean, I still call my children Mickey Fart-Parts when they pass wind! It's gold.

  26. Drop Dead Fred was my FAVORITE as a kid!!! I used to pretend I had Fred as my imaginery friend!! Made mud pies and shampoo that made my dads hair fall out and all sorts!! hahahaha

I'd very much like to purchase your book as I've actually just published my own so I'm always keen to support other authors!!
Is it available on iTunes or something as I am in South Africa and do not have a credit card! :(

    Let me know please xxx

  27. As usual, I ADORE It's Okay Tuesday (even if I am commenting on a Wednesday)
I really hope you get to the movie while the kids are in school. Nothing feels as decadent or awesome. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! (and I am THRILLED to find another Drop Dead Fred enthusiast. THAT MOVIE IS HYSTERICAL!! --Lisa

  28. Guilty-- I never enjoyed Drop Dead Fred--- but to be fair, I haven't seen it in years. Perhaps I need to give it another opportunity!

  29. I don't watch TV enough (or movies) to know what most of the shows were that you mentioned, and I have never seen Drop Dead Fred. When people talk about TV shows, I am usually mystified and lost :)

  30. I forgot about Drop Dead Fred! I love that movie so much. Now I want to see it! I didn't know Durant had a restaurant? Well, how the hell would I know that anyway. lol Ut sounds like you have a lot of fun things planned, ENJOY!

  31. I am less afraid of them getting out of school, than I am of the bill for summer camp. They only go 3 days (they are 12 and 13 and would get bored and kill each other if left home all week alone)but currently the tally is $2,600 and I'm not done with all the weeks yet. *sigh* Thankfully, they don't get out until the 20th of June.

  32. My kids have two weeks left of school. They do have Monday off though, but I do too. we all get a three-day weekend (except for hubby, because he never gets time off!)

  33. I had issues with the whole Ellis Grey/Richard Weber's lovechild thing too!
