Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your blog. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either. Just make sure you link up and that the post you link up is a Hey, It's Okay Post. Grab the button if you'd like!
-----------

--To try not to roll my eyes when people tell Tommy he's the man of the house when Tom is gone. It's not the 1950s and we don't use the term "man of the house" in this family. No offense to those who do, but a penis does not mean much more in this house.

--To hope we never have to deal with lice again. Read about my daughter's experience with it here.

--To have finished reading Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. It's creepy. I've realized her books are creepy. But addictively creepy.

--To love the Target Cartwheel App. You can save 50% off a toy daily in November.

--To be grateful the kids are still cavity free. They saw the dentist on Saturday (yes, the day after Halloween) and were all clear. They've yet to have a cavity. *Knock on wood* It's probably because they mainly only drink water. Tommy only likes water. Everything else is "too much" in his mouth. Natalie likes her juice and Sprite but it's limited.

--To have a giveaway for an Orkin blanket here! It'll keep you warm in the winter. Or it can be a Christmas gift.

--To be using InLinkz for the first time. It seems to be "the" link up to use, so I'm jumping on board. Let me know if it's not working though. HTML can still baffle me.

--To have eaten candy for breakfast over the weekend. And maybe Monday. Maybe today too.

--To be excited that I found some delicious goodies at the commissary. I LOVE the white fudge Oreos.

  3. omg lice....i am TERRIFIED of that. i always nag kayla about NEVER putting anything in her hair that is not from home and if any kid is constantly itching their head to STAY AWAY FROM HIM. then i sat her down and discussed lice with her, what the treatment is and even went so far as to tell her that we would probably have to shave her head if she didn't listen and get lice!

  5. That first one cracked me up and I completely agree! I am terrified of one of the kids getting lice. I hope we never do. (knock on wood) I love the Target Cartwheel App! I save quite a bit with it! Also, I know you don't drink coffee, but Halloween Chocolate goes so well with it in the morning!

  6. Ok, well I tried the new InLinkz... I learned something new. I am just not that dedicated to my blog! ha! I've enjoyed all the Gillian books I have read so far, I will have to try Sharp Objects. I worked in child care on and off for 10 years... Lice... nasty. Glad you got a handle on them and quickly!

  7. The "man of the house" comment is so cheesy. It's like asking dads if they're "babysitting" when they're home with the kids.

  8. Yeah for no cavities and no lice! We've had both at my house, but the teeth thing I'm going to blame on asthma! Those treatments are bad for your teeth!

  9. I agree - Gillian Flynn's books are creepy but I keep reading them!!
And I love having candy for breakfast/lunch/snacks!!!

  10. Pumpkin spice milanos... mmmmm.... I am addicted to anything pumpkin! And that is awesome that your kids still have no cavities!! At almost 30 (I turn 30 in like 3 weeks), I still have only had one cavity which I think is pretty amazing, so hopefully when I have kids they inherit my good teeth and don't get cavities often!

  11. Absolutely LOVED Sharp Objects! I already put in a request to get Dark Places- her writing is creepy and twisted but I love it. And yay for being cavity free!

  12. I have the Target app but stopped using it bc I didn't feel like I was saving anything ...thanks for the tip on November toys though! It will be helpful for Christmas

  13. I haven't read "Sharp Objects" yet! I'll have to get to it!

Am I the only one that is flunking the Cartwheel app? I can't seem to use it properly. How do I activate an item on there so I get my discount? I have the items in my cartwheel thingy...and I have the items in my ACTUAL cart...but I still get no discount. Am I supposed to scan them somehow? It's probably just me, right? Blergh! --Lisa

  16. White Fudge Oreos are always special! I buy them every holiday season.
And that is so funny about the dentist appointment right after Halloween. Scarlet goes tomorrow but Cassidy is bringing her, thank god.

  21. Sorry, I've avoided your lice posting on purpose. I can't.

I adored Sharp Objects. I inhale Gillian Flynn's books.

Also dislike man of the house - and especially to say that to a kid. Come on.

  22. 50% off at Target?!

I remember having cake for breakfast for the first time. I felt like I was breaking all the rules! Then I discovered sweets in the AM is the best thing you can do but I've been having too much lately.

Which leads me to the white fudge Oreos which look sooo good. As do the pumpkin spice Milanos!

  23. We had so little trick or treaters, I have 2 large bags of peanut butter cups. I really need to get them out of the house before I eat them all!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I haven't really gotten used to the Target App. I need to start. I've been using the WalMart one, thought - that one is awesome!

  25. White fudge Oreos!! I had no idea they existed, but must find them now.

  26. Have you seen the COOKIE DOUGH Oreos? I. Die.

All of Flynn's books are creepy. I found Sharp Objects creeped me out way more than Gone Girl. Are you going to read Dark Places? Also very, very creepy!

  27. Yikes! I'll definitely cross my fingers you don't have to deal with lice again!

  28. I just love you. Your man of the house comments/feelings/eyerolls are on point. Penis does not equate power, thanks.
