How The First Week Without My Husband Is Going

So my husband deployed.

How did my first week go?

Well.

--Natalie came running inside and was like, "I got hurt."

I flipped out at first, because she's always getting hurt. Then I realized it was only a scrape, so I rubbed Neosporin on it. It's looking much better now.

--I dropped this bowl on my toe.

It hurt. I cursed.

--I also dropped dinner.

Maybe it's Karma because I used a paper plate and am damaging the environment. I also cursed.

--My cat also randomly looks at the ceiling so I assume there's a ghost in the house.

Stop it, Max. You're scaring me.

So it's really no wonder why I bought all this:

I feel better now.

  1. Girl, last Saturday, I mopped the kitchen floor. It dried. I went to the fridge and grabbed a little tub of blueberries. Then proceeded to watch them (in what seemed like slow motion) topple out of my hands and hit that clean floor and bounce and roll to every square corner of the clean kitchen floor.

I swept them up, but apparently missed some. Because I have blue splotch marks all over my kitchen and leading down the hallway. Someone stepped on something blue and tracked it all over the place.

    It was probably me.

Thank you for YOUR service, too.

  12. Hi love.

#1. Animals are awful and creepy and hear things that aren't really there all the time. I feel your pain. Just pretend it's like a dead relative or something coming to check on you. Unless that creeps you out more. Then just tell the cat to f-off.

#2. You are cooking and cleaning and tending your kids wounds instead of crawling into bed and telling the world to go to hell. You're one heck of a mom and wife. They are lucky to have you.

#3. My heart goes out to you. I can't give you a hug or anything but I do hope you know we're here, looking forward to your posts, and ready to listen to whatever you want to say.

    STAY AWESOME.

  15. Oh, my goodness... isn't it freaky when animals stare off into space like that?? So it's not just my goofball boxer then.

Awww, I'm sorry to hear you had a rough week. But hey, at least you didn't break another dish when the food spilled? I dunno, trying to find a silver lining :) XOXO

  17. Thanks to my four cats, I'm 100% convinced that our house is haunted too. Glad I'm not the only one, but sad that we both ghosts :(

    Hang in there! xo

  20. Mm.. I've never seen strawberry 3 musketeers! And that scrape looks big so at first glance, I might freak out.
I'd definitely cry over spilled dinner.
And I'm a bit behind but I think you also got a stomach bug too after this post, right?
    Un. Cool.
