Hey, It's Okay

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. You can link up any day of the week. All you have to do is make a list of what you're okay about. Simple! Please do not link up a post that has nothing to do with Hey, It's Okay. It's rude.

Hey, It's Okay....

....to be grateful that Hurricane Harvey didn't cause much damage in San Antonio, where I am. It's terrible the damage it has caused in other places and the people affected are in my thoughts. You can text HARVEY to 90999 to donate $10. It should show up on your next cell phone bill.

....to be glad that my kids had a good first day of school. I was especially worried about Tommy. He doesn't like the chaos, but he said he did fine. He asked for help when he needed it.

....to have loved the finale of Game of Thrones, but I can't believe we have to wait over a year for new episodes.

....to think Taylor Swift's song is okay, but prefer her older ones.

.....to have started to watch the show Atypical on Netflix. It's about a high school boy who has autism. Naturally, I can relate.

....to have skipped the VMAs because I barely know who the artists are anymore.

....to have told my son Tommy, who has autism: "If anyone messes with you, let them know that when your mother is through with them that I'll make Cersei look like a wimp."

  2. We will all be waiting for the next year of Game of Thrones. I'm just happy for cooler weather and almost recovered from knee surgery. So yep hey I am okay.

  3. Hate T.Swift's new song - it's stupid. I really don't care about ANYTHING MTV anymore - because it's way too CELEBRITY based and I just am not immersed with that culture anymore. What makes those people THAT MUCH different than us, other than them getting more attention?!

  4. I like reminders like this! It's OK to be human and that is a good reminder. I am grateful that I do not live close to where the hurricane is and that's OK. From here I can help them in ways I couldn't if I lived there.

  9. This is a great idea, especially since it's Monday! People can be so judgmental and a reminder that we are all human and doing our best is always good!

  10. Everybody is one a Game of Thrones fever and yes, my friends are sad too that the next episode is in 2019. Hope there's not much damage with the recent Hurricane.

  11. I know I might be in the minority, but I love Taylor's new song! I missed the VMA's too because I can't stand most of those people anymore. I have only started GoT and my daughter got upset, so now I have to wait for her lol. We just have TOO many shows to watch and catch up on. I'm going to have to jump on this Hey, It's Okay posting thing because it definitely puts things in perspective!

  12. It's good to hear you weren't too badly effected by the hurricane. I've seen so many people who can't believe they have to wait so long for the next GoT.

  15. This is a really awesome idea! Hey it's ok I have never watched any games of throne episode and I cannot see why people like it so much. Hey it's Ok, I do not love Tay Tay anymore!

  17. I haven't watched any Game of Thrones episodes. I also missed the VMA''s except the Pink acceptance part. My daughter mentioned Taylor Swift and her new transformation but I didn't really care.

  18. So glad that Tommy had a good first day! And I'm so sad that I have to wait another year for GOT. I felt like I binge watched the season even though I had to wait a week.

  19. I loved that GOT finale. It was soooo exciting and so many reveals! Do you know which organization the Harvey $10 text donations go to?

  21. This is a great reminder. I am happy to hear you are doing okay with the hurricane. I was shocked to learn we have to wait over a year for the next season of Game of Thrones.

  23. I love little reminders like these! I am also grateful that our kiddos had a great first day of school! Everyone was happy going to and coming home from school!

  24. I agree. Everything you mentioned in this post is A-Okay with me too. I like the one you told your son, that is someone messes with him. I was the same way too when my kids were little. I told my children to let me know if someone is school was giving them a difficult time. They hurt my kids, I hurt them even more. Mothers are that way I guess, and hey, its okay!

  26. I also dislike Taylor Swift's new song! It feels so weird seeing her act like that!

  30. I stopped bothering with MTV years ago when they stopped playing music. Speaking of music I haven't heard the new Taylor Swift song.

  31. I have a 16 year old with autism. I loved watching Atypical on Netflix.

  32. I don't know who Cersei is.. but have you ever had to make her look like a wimp? I don't think I'll handle any teasing/bullying of my kids. I'll freak! It's inevitable.

  33. Glad to hear your kiddos had a good first day. My 4 oldest have started school already but my youngest boy will be starting next week.

  34. I am right there with you on some of these, I just heard the new Taylor Swift song and am not into it. I love her other albums though! My kids start school next week and I am trying to let myself be OK with it. I love having them home, but also love the peace and quiet and higher productivity I have when they are in school.

  35. I love this so much and agree with all of these! I think it's really beneficial to write things out like this almost daily for your own sake. Love it!

  36. I feel bad about the hurricane, but IMHO it is more bad when we experience super typhoon here in Asia especially in the Philippines. That's why we learned how to be alert, prepared anytime of the day.

  37. I'm so glad you were spared! I just watched the season finale GOT last night and from everyone's reaction, I was expecting a lot more!!

  38. I love these hey it's ok segments. But I have to say that I am with you. It's going to be too long before the Game of Thrones comes on again. And as much as I am looking forward to next season of Westworld that's just too crazy. Hopefully what I am hearing is right and it will be 6 feature length movies they play in season 8.

  39. This are good things not to sweat and to be thankful for indeed. I will have to check out the Atypical on Netflix. Thanks for sharing Hey it's okay.
