Hey, It's Okay

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. You can link up any day of the week. All you have to do is make a list of what you're okay about. Simple! Please do not link up a post that has nothing to do with Hey, It's Okay. It's rude and I'll delete the link.

Hey, It's Okay....

....to be excited that there's a new Cookie Dough place opening nearby called Scooped. We're going this weekend! The grand opening is Friday.

....to need to carve pumpkins this weekend. I keep putting it off because it's so messy and not my favorite thing to do.

....to have tried a new restaurant called Krause's Cafe. Or at least, attempted to try it. I was there with Tom, my Mom, and kids. We're shown to a table and no one came to take our order for over 20 minutes. It wasn't busy either. So we just got up and left.

.....to need to watch the new episode of The Walking Dead. But judging from my Facebook feed, it was rather dull. No one seemed impressed.

....to be too lazy to make my own pumpkin roll. I always buy one fro H-E-B or Walmart. I won't lie. And then I'm all, "Look what I made!" on social media, but most people know I don't make things like that on my own and are like, "Where did you buy it?" Ha!

....to love going to Buc-ees! It's a Texas thing. It's a giant gas station and store. The mascot is (obviously) the beaver. My husband found a bumper sticker that says, "I brake for beaver."

  4. I've really been in need of one of these posts, especially since I feel so guilty when others are suffering so bad right now and I am not. I'm also hungry for pumpkin rolls now....

  5. Ooo...this reminds me that I haven't yet made a pumpkin roll this season! I'd better step into the kitchen and get baking! Have a great week. :-)

  7. Well at least you've watched the previous seasons of Walking Dead. I haven't seen even the 1st episode, omg i'm in a cave for so long :D

  8. Amber,

We used to carve a pumpkin with the kids when they were young and boy, oh boy what fun memories I have associated with this annual event! It's truly a messy, smelly (I don't like the scent of raw pumpkin) job but still I wouldn't trade it for anything. We haven't carved one since the children all moved out. I did manage to set up my Peanut's collection "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" yesterday. That's about all the Halloween decorations I do. We hope to watch the newest episode of TWD this weekend provided there's no problem with streaming from AMC. Sometimes new seasons are slow to get going. I hope the writers aren't getting bored with the script and empty handed for ideas. I've never made a pumpkin roll but have been tempted. I do make a nice cranberry pumpkin bread which is awfully tasty. :) Thanks for hosting "Hey, It's Okay" and have a great week, my friend!

  9. I have to carve the pumpkin as well. We bought a really small one, so I'm curious how it will turn out. Have you seen the latest episode of Bob's burgers? it was amazing

  10. We are carving our pumpkins this weekend, too. It's not like we could carve them any earlier because they would rot. So messy carving this weekend it is.

    1. I've seen some awesome designs with paint, glitter and tape people seem to get so creative with decorating and of course carving.

  16. Another great hey, it's okay post. Thanks for sharing your take on your world this week - and that it's okay to buy store-bought pumpkin rolls!

  17. I agree with delaying the pumpkin carving. I'm never in a rush to do anything messy. I also heard the walking dead was dull, but I'm not into the series anyway. Hopefully it gets better as the season progresses.

    ReplyDelete
  29. We haven't carved pumpkins in years. Our secret is using paint or sharpies. All the fun without the slimy mess! I miss the pumpkin seeds but not the mess! It's okay!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I wish we had a cookie dough place near me. We are carving our pumpkins this weekend. We always have a family competition.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I feel for you about the pumpkin carving. Although, my kids are old enough not to make a huge mess, it's still enough mess to make me shake my head in displeasure lol!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ah, it's no fun when you happen to get bad service at a new place. At least you gave the restaurant a shot!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I had planned to carve pumpkins tonight also, but I'm just not feeling like getting into all of that this late.. Plus I roast the seeds so cleaning the seed is another project by itself! Mmmm, pumpkin roll sounds great!

  34. Hey its ok to take a mommy time out. We get to energize ourselves after a getting our hair done as it feels like we got a massage.

  36. It's pumpkin carving time especially with Halloween just around the corner. Yeah, there's not much buzz on the latest walking dead.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Great idea! I'll do this in my blog soon. I haven't seen the latest episode of walking dead. Maybe in the weekends.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh this is such a great idea! I think I might have to do this on my blog too :) I've never watched the Walking Dead.. I've just never been interested in gory zombie stuff lol. I also keep putting off pumpkin picking/carving because it's messy and it's been hot so my pumpkins will just rot/melt on my stoop!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Carving pumpkins isn't my favorite either. i'm doing it this weekend because it was requested that all guests bring a jacolantern to a halloween wedding I'm going to. For this, I'll make an exception.

  40. Oh, did I miss the walking dead episode..I shall check it out. Krause's Cafe was really a sad experience, they should be very prompt if in their servicing if they are new. Great, we went to our native home this weekend and met all relatives and old friends. It was fun.

  41. Take me to the new Cookie Dough place ASAP!!! I need to catch up on The Walking Dead!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I love your attitude.. you don't need to worry about what others think or take things too seriously. I am a fan of Walking Dead, although the show has been frustrating me in the last couple seasons because I think the characters need to get their act together!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. We had the same experience. Waiting 10 to 20 mins in taking our orders and no one came out. It's really crazy. But you got me, yummy cookie dough.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hey is it ok that I dont watch the Walking Dead? It is ok for me but that new cookie dough place sounds awesome! Totally ok!
