Hey, It's Okay

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. You can link up any day of the week. All you have to do is make a list of what you're okay about. Simple! Please do not link up a post that has nothing to do with Hey, It's Okay. It's rude and I'll delete the link.

HEY, IT'S OKAY....

....to be glad the kids had a good first day of school. Natalie has a friend in each of her classes, so she's happy, and Tommy is taking AV again is excited about that.

....to have not made anything special for breakfast on their first day. I guess some people make pancakes and eggs and I'm just like, "How are you alert for that?" I am not a morning person.

....to HAVE made cookies for when they came home. I mean, they were the already made ones that you just shove in the oven, but still.

....to be going on a date with Tom on Friday. He's in the military and it's apparently and off day since it's Labor Day weekend. So we're headed to The Cheesecake Factory.

.....to have already bought some pumpkin stuff. I love it. I am ready for my first pumpkin spice frapp from Starbucks.

....to think it's hilarious that Natalie pasted a photo on top of her original photo on her Student ID because she didn't like how she looked. (Yup, that's really her in costume. Check out her Saw photos here.)

  6. This is so true. I love this. The first day of school is a big day and it's not gonna be perfect. I have learned to love the imperfections..ooh pumpkin Starbucks, you reminded me lol

  7. I think it's totally fine to NOT make anything elaborate for the first day back to school because you don't want them to expect pancakes and crap ALL the time, right?! Now you can cook em up a nice dinner, if you want, but in order for the kids to get back into the swing of things smoothly, you just gotta start out doing what will be done on the daily!

  16. You know, we make a celebration out of everything, so how are kids supposed to know when something is truly special? I love that you didn't make a special breakfast just because it was the first day of school. Wait until the mood strikes you, make a great breakfast and say it is because THEY are the special ones.

  17. I get you on not being a morning person - part of the same club. Glad the kids seem to have had a good first day back!
