The Water Lantern Festival In San Antonio

It's no secret that my daughter Natalie has loved the movie Rapunzel since she was a little girl. She watched it so many times that she memorized the movie.

She had the dress, the wig, the toys...she even had an 18th Rapunzel themed birthday.

She even had a Rapunzel photo shoot at Walt Disney World when she graduated:

So when the water lantern festival came to the area, she immediately thought of Rapunzel and her lanterns and decided to go.

Of course her look was inspired by Rapunzel:

I didn't go, but Natalie said everyone picks a spot by the water, and are given lanterns to decorate. There is food and merch to purchase as well.

She also wrote this, which I thought was sweet.

Everyone puts their lantern into the water, and they look beautiful:

The water lantern festival is held in different locations, so you can check to see if there's one coming near you. Buy tickets early online because they will be cheaper!

Natalie said it was a fantastic experience. She hopes to do a floating lantern festival in the future but would do this one again. As you can see, it is a spectacular site seeing all the lanterns floating in the water.

Have you ever gone to a water lantern festival?

  2. What a fun event! I have heard of lantern events that were released into the sky but never on the water, very cool.

  3. Oh wow, it sounds like Natalie had a wonderful time at the water lantern festival. The message that she wrote on her lantern certainly was sweet. It seems like a popular event, there were so many lanterns on the lake.

  4. That was such a sweet, heartfelt post — I love how Natalie’s Rapunzel inspiration weaves so naturally into her experience with the lanterns, making the festival feel both magical and deeply personal.

  6. I've seen such water lantern festivals in K-drama and Chinese dramas only! I hope we have such events here in the UK, near my city too. Love Natalie's message ❤️.
