"Just be careful and don't get robbed. Plus, don't die," I told my daughter before she left for the My Chemical Romance concert in San Antonio.
I wasn't going. I know some My Chemical Romance songs, but not enough to want to sit through a concert. Although, Natalie pointed out that Gerard Way is a theater kid, and always puts on a good show, so I probably would have enjoyed myself had I gone.
Natalie assured me would watch her purse and be sure she was not murdered.
This was her concert look:
And yes, this is a normal My Chemical Romance concert vibe. Natalie is always eager to dress to a theme. She did not get that from me. I'm content showing up to events in jeans and a t-shirt. I consider leaving my hair down "dressing up."
Natalie has different views:
She promised she'd keep me posted throughout the night so I had proof of life.
The Alamodome, the venue of the concert, can be a chaotic spot. Not to mentioned overpriced. $60 for parking! Highway robbery!
But.
Natalie's seat was magically upgraded. She had originally purchased a seat way in the back with a limited view. It was all she could afford.
Her new seat was closer to the stage. No obstructions.
She had arrived right when the doors opened, so she had time to walk around and collect goodies fans were passing out.
She took pics to pass the time:
The opening act was Mars Volta, and Natalie said they were fabulous.
And then the main event began.
Natalie said it was the best concert she has ever been to. There were fireworks. Theatrics.
