If I don't see the point of a homework lesson (seriously, what is Natalie supposed to learn from this?), I probably won't make my son do the homework. I don't remember having more than an occasional, rare homework assignment until 5th grade. Even then, I only had homework assignments on 3 days a week and I negotiated with the teacher about turning in homework a day late because his homework days conflicted with dance practice. :)Life After Grad Schoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17378153313459238978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5910185897876102936.post-37455562439306955412014-08-28T19:18:45.537-06:002014-08-28T19:18:45.537-06:00I haaaaated homework in school. If he is really being obstinate, I let him know I will write a note letting the teacher know of his difficulty to complete the assignment. That always works. But I am up front w the teacher. I feel he needs to get the consequence from her, not me. He had a hard time last year when he lived with his birth mom. He never did any homework and he failed. So he is repeating the grad with us and trust me I watch him like a hawk. He will do good and get through this year without any issues. It sounds like it will be a long long year for you. Maybe she will eventually know the homework is something she has to do and it becomes routine and less fights on your hands.
