39dollarglasses To The Rescue!

I tend to misplace things.

A lot.

So when John from 39DollarGlasses contacted me about reviewing a pair of glasses, I jumped at the chance. And yes, you can get glasses for only 39 bucks, hence the site name. Here is what the site says about them:

“We use top quality Polycarbonate (thin & ultra-light) Lenses. All of our $39.00 complete pair packages are made using polycarbonate lenses; the lightest, most impact-resistant material made. With an index of refraction of 1.59, they are much thinner than standard (CR39) optical lenses. They also come with both 100% UV and tough scratch-resistant coatings applied to both sides of the lenses, as well as polished lens edges, at no extra charge.”

I was excited about another pair of glasses because let’s be honest: I’ll probably lose the current pair that I wear. I’ve lost glasses before. I set a pair down and completely forgot where I put them. And since I have like -200 eyesight I couldn’t see a thing and was in a state of panic. (Okay, maybe my eyesight isn’t THAT bad but it’s pretty close…eat your carrots, folks.)

So anyway.

An extra pair of glasses is a good thing.

I was impressed with the site since there were so many glasses to choose from. Metal eyeglasses, plastic, sunglasses, rimless, even glasses for children. The list went on and on.

I ended up going with the semi-rimless glasses.

I liked these:

And these:

I ended up going with the Cozumel glasses. You can’t go wrong with black frames.

Want to know what I loved about the site? How there was a photo of a model and you could try the glasses on different face shapes. For instance, it would show you what the glasses would look like on an oval face, or a triangular face, etc..

And bonus? All the glasses are priced affordably. 39dollarglasses sells high quality discount eyeglasses and yes, there might be other sites boasting cheaper prices, but 39dollarglasses last longer because they are made with better materials.

Want your own pair of glasses? Check out the site. You can even save $5 if you join their mailing list. Or you can use this code and save 10%: 434QXX

I know my glasses will last a long time. Mainly because when I was taking the picture, Natalie ripped them off my face and there wasn’t even a mark on them. You have to understand, my daughter can be rough. So if you are in the market for new glasses, check out 39dollarglasses!

(And a shout out to John, who was incredibly patient with me as he had my glasses made. He needed my Pupillary Distance measured to make my glasses look just right and I had no idea what he was talking about. I said something like, “I’m sorry, I don’t speak eye,” and he walked me through all the needed steps.)

So, do you wear glasses? Is your eyesight as bad as mine? Or do you have perfect 20/20 vision?

  4. I do wear glasses. I have the thin plastic lens and plastic frames. They're much lighter than my old wire framed glasses. I don't think I'll ever switch back!

And my eyesight is horrible! Horrible.

  5. Having an extra pair of glasses is crucial. When they're affordable like that, you can do it too!

  6. I wear contacts, but I was just at the eye dr. and she said to pick up a cheap pair of reading glasses. Hmmm. I'll have to check this place out.

  10. OOooh - I'll let my daughter know!! She no longer gets vision coverage through her insurance. I paid over $300 for her last pair, and that was over 4 years ago! (Being adult now, she is able to take much better care of them!) But it would be nice for her to have a back up pair. She's legally blind in one eye and HATES contacts. This is perfect!!

  11. Ohhh, I love your new glasses! I had Lasix but now I'm so old I need reading glasses...no, I'm not happy about that.
I'm totally checking this placee out!

  12. Thanks for the tip. I'm legally blind so if I set the glasses down...well...the children and hubs search for me, because I'll never find them. You look uber cute in those glasses. I love em'.

  14. 20/20 vision? In my dreams! I use my contacts on a daily basis - but that's mainly because my glasses are so old (my prescription for them is probably three prescriptions ago....) that I really shouldn't be wearing them out while driving and what not - it would be dangerous.

I'll have to look into this site.

  15. Love the second pair. Very cute!

  16. Haha, I don't speak eye either. I have one pair of glasses, but I wish I could afford as many glasses as shoes!

  17. I have pretty good eyesight, but it's getting worse so I have to wear glasses when I read or use the computer, you know, like an old lady. I usually forget where I last had them or drop them on the floor, again, like an old lady, so a well-priced second pair sounds like a good plan.

  18. I'd heard of CoastalContacts but not this one. I don't need glasses since I have not lost mine yet but I know several people who would like a new place to shop.

  19. I wish they'd contact me! I need new glasses!!!

My eyesight isn't that bad... I don't qualify for Lasix, but it's bad enough that I can't see distances that well... especially at night... the colors on the traffic light all blend together... it's very pretty ;)

  20. I have an astigmatism, diagnosed in 9th grade (I rocked the gigantor lenses of 1991), but after being pregnant and having my son, my vision definitely crapped-out. I mean it's not terrible, but I need prescription sunglasses now.

  23. Cute glasses! I've never ordered them online before.

  24. Actually I wear contact lenses. But I must admit I don't think I could order glasses online - I sort of like trying on different pairs at the shop!

  25. I wear contacts about 99% of the time, but at night and on my lazy days @ home I wear glasses. I'm blind without some type of help with my eyes, haha. I'm blind as a bat!
