That Time My Kids Were Beetlejuice And Lydia For Halloween

How was your Halloween?

Did you pig out on candy?

Did you begrudgingly carve pumpkins?

(The pumpkin strings freak out Tommy. Some kids with autism don't like the way certain things feel.)

My kids were Beetlejuice and Lydia. I was surprised on the amount of adults who had no idea who these characters were. Go watch Beetlejuice! Seriously!

My kids had a mini photo session with a local photographer. (Jessica B Photography.)

I love how the photos turned out. These aren't the full size photos, FYI, but you get the point.

                                                                     "Beetlejui--"

The kids got a lot of candy.

In fact, Tommy ended up with FULL SIZE Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

He made me a deal. I could have them if I let him stay up until 1 AM.

Fine, whatever. For all I know he stays up until 1 AM anyway. Gimmie.

I'm also one of those parents who let the kids keep their candy bags. They can eat it whenever. Natalie was miffed that I keep taking stuff from her bag so she wrote this sign:

For the record, I've been ignoring it.

  2. How could they not know?! They look great and the photos are awesome! My kids get their candy the first few days and then, I start rationing. My kids have no self-control.

  22. OMG their costumes are amazing. Did they sing Tally Me Ba-na-na too? Jaxon made me a sign about his candy too. Eventually he ended up hiding his bag. But fortunately he is not very good at hiding things. :)
