Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' At Disney Springs Review

I absolutely love southern food, so I knew I wanted to eat at Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' which is located at Disney Springs. They are known for their fried chicken, so I knew I wanted to try that. Gosh, I'll be honest, there is so much I want to try. I wish I lived closer. (Check out the menu here. It's the dinner one. They also do a spectacular sounding brunch.)

Anyway, I had made reservations, so we were seated quickly. You can do a walk up, but the wait might be longer, so I do recommend making a reservation

Inside is nicely decorated and it looked like there was a nice sized bar.

Tommy loves to eat, so he was ready. We appreciated that we were given water soon after we sat down. It was HOT outside.

I knew I wanted to try the Church Lady Deviled Eggs, because look:

They were delicious. Everyone at the table were fans. I mean, you can never go wrong with bacon. They tasted like regular deviled eggs, but better, thanks to the bacon and all that topping. I did not eat these like a church lady. I sort of stuffed it in my mouth and I had a smear of deviled egg goop on my chin that was pointed out by my son. I hope the waitress didn't see. She might have. Oops. I am not a dainty eater.

Anyway. I ordered the Fried Chicken & Donuts. Tommy ordered the same thing. We both picked mashed potatoes as the side and oh my gosh, yum. I hear the mac and cheese is delicious too, so again, we need to go back and try it! It also came with a spicy syrup and I believe a pimento cheese.

Tommy absolutely LOVED the chicken. He took a bite and went, "Wow, they know flavors here."

Natalie went for the braised short ribs. They were SO tender and the biscuit? Yum. Natalie said I could have a small bite. And by small, I mean small. She gave me like a crumb because she loved it too much. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans, which were marvelously seasoned.

Everything was incredible. We will definitely return because there are other things on the menu that I feel like I MUST try. (Desserts, for one! But I was so full!)  If you're at Disney Springs, I highly recommend trying out Chef Art Smith's Homecomin.' Oh, and yes, they do military discounts!

And bonus, afterwards, you can walk off everything you eat by shopping and checking out the sites. We loved this wall.

Have you ever eaten here before?

  26. I love that mural! But, I wish Disney would have spoken out against the Don't Say Gay Bill sooner. The food looks great! I am sort of blown away by a restaurant serving fried chicken and doughnuts, that sounds like a delicious combination.

  28. Its been too long since I have been to Disney. But I intend on taking my son in the next few years. I want to go when he is a bit older and can ride everything he wants to. Some things he will have to ride alone because of my bad back.
