I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. I think I’m going to do this every Tuesday now. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your diary. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either.
Hey, It's Okay....
To love singing along to songs by ABBA.
To wish the show Gilmore Girls was still on.
To sometimes just let Natalie tear up the tissue all over the living room because it gives me ten minutes of quiet.
To really hate when the cat stares intently at the corner of the room at night. I assume he’s staring at a ghost and this freaks me out.
To need a gay male best friend in the area so I could call him and he could assure me that no, ghosts are NOT in the house and would I like him to come over and sing ABBA songs with me?
To be amazed that there are some people who have never witnessed the wonder of Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea.
To be ready for fall food such as caramel apples, apple pies, pumpkin rolls, etc....
To be offended when someone outbids me in eBay.
To be looking forward to that new shows called Blue Bloods and My Generation that is set to premiere at the end of the month.
To have totally bought a few items from Gymboree’s Baby Sale ($10 and $20 price points, people! And if you had a 20% off coupon like I did, it’s $8 and $16!)
To miss the original Nintendo. I rocked at Duckhunt, Contra, and RC ProAm

Nothing to be ashamed of there. In fact, I am quite impressed with the shopping win. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteI've never watched Anne of Green Gables...and have never even heard of Anne of Avonlea!
ReplyDeleteShall you disown me now?? :p
Hi
ReplyDeletewhat a great idea, I can think of a few things. Oh and Anne of Green Gables, I remember watching it with my daughter.
Greap deal on the shopping! Gosh I was just thinking theres a few things I frequently think hey its okay to...this is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, may be your gay friend would be scared by ghosts too.
ReplyDeleteBut why a gay friend?
Nominated you for a Blogger Choice Award 2010. I love your blog
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the Gilmore Girls. Now that's TV.
ReplyDelete:)
Oooh! I have an original Nintendo - and LOVE it. The graphics are horrible, but at least it doesn't make you dizzy like the new crazy games!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I LOVE ABAA...loved Mama Mia too! Yeah, that cat thing would freak me out too and I absolutely LOVED Anne of Green Gables and I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to enjoy them :)
ReplyDeleteI am so ready for Fall!!! And I hate being outbid on ebay...it really ticks me off!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen Anne of Green Gables....... yeah.
ReplyDeleteWe have an original Nintendo. It's awesome! We even have the power pad thing with the track and field game. Talk about the original Wii.
ReplyDeletePerfect list! I miss Gilmore Girls too - it should have never ended.
ReplyDeleteI am all wrapped up watching reruns of Gilmore Girls, I never realized how great it was when it was on the air. I just watched the finale, it totally could have ended better, in my opinion. And Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea were a couple of my go-to sick movies when I was a kid. I absolutely love her, and I also read the 5 bajillion page book more than once :)
ReplyDeletehaha!
ReplyDeletei soooo know what you mean.. doug will be on graveyard shift, and bella (my cat) will jump into bed with me.. then intently STARE for minutes out into the hallway... SO NOT COOL!!!
Oh, Gilmore Girls. Loved it so much I bought all the seasons on DVD. And fall food sounds so great!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Gilmore Girls. I pop in my dvds every so often!
ReplyDeleteMmmm...caramel apples. Now I'm hungry.
ReplyDeleteI soooo need a gay male friend! I want to know how one goes about meeting one of those. They should have an online "friend" service where they match you up. Maybe we could start one and get rich!
ReplyDeleteFall truly is the best time of year.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am one of those who knows nothing about Anne of Green Gables. I have already determined that I have a vagina fail.
YOU are hystarical!
ReplyDeleteI totaly wish the Gilmore Girls was still on too!
:)))
we are SO much alike!
I need to buy the original Nintendo on eBay - I love those games!!
ReplyDeleteI let my son rip tissues and sometimes worse because it gives me 10 minutes of quiet too.
ReplyDeleteI could sing ABBA everyday! I also miss The Gilmore Girls. I've been tempted to buy the box set, but its really pricey.
ReplyDeletei don't even have a little one in my own life that still wears gymboree.
ReplyDeletethank goodness my friends are still havin babies.
and we have a new gymboree store at the outlet mall.
can you smell the smoke from the burning plastic??
What a great list! I've really got to get my daughter into ABBA!
ReplyDeleteI missed the Gymboree sale but it's for the best.
ReplyDeleteha. the other day I found my son unrolling the art paper - he had done a lot of it but i was too tired to stop him. then it provided hours (or at least 30 min) of fun for me...while he and the dog ran throughout it screaming and laughing and then last night when we cleaned it up I put it in a big pile and let him jump in it like it was leaves. much like the tissue. though tissues are harder to clean up.
ReplyDeletehere's mine - http://parentplanet.wordpress.com/2010/09/07/hey-its-ok-7/
ooooh I love Anne. I haven't watched those movies in SO LONG! I think they might just be put on the top of my Netflix que now.
ReplyDeleteyour ebay comment made me chuckle -- it's definitely offensive to get outbid! =)
ReplyDeleteTotally ready for fall food.
ReplyDeleteAwww, I love the Anne movies, but the 8 Anne books are awesome too. I generally prefer books over movies, though.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA, I love the tissue thing. Not that I'VE done anything like that...:)
My cat loves to stare into space, and I get freaked out too thinking she's looking at a ghost! She also likes to chase her imaginary friends, but hey it's okay!
ReplyDeleteThis might be my favorite post of yours ever! I love Anne of Green Gables! I'm actually in the process of watching it this week. I only get to watch about an hour at a time, so It's taking a while to get through it, but I LOVE it. It's definitely one of my childhood favorites.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love Gilmore Girls! I was very, very sad when it ended.
No doubt, Fall is the best time of year. The foods are awesome, it finally starts to cool down. And you get Halloween AND Thanksgiving! What more could you want?
<3
I loved duck hunt...I kick my brothers butts at it every time!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I TOTALLY rocked at Kid Nikki, I had that game beat. I miss it.
ReplyDeleteHow do you feel about the fact that I still cringe at paying 16 bucks for something. hence, my only Gymboree clothes were ones given to me. Man I'm a cheapskate.
Love your list, and I think I may play along sometime.
If you have a wii, you can download some of the old school games via wi-fi. i'm a mario queen!!!! my son thinks mario sucks. :(
ReplyDeleteAre you not so excited for Fall you could just pee?
ReplyDeleteI got to wear a scarf for the first time last night. It was excellent.
I hope to incorporate sweaters, tights and boots very soon.
Good God, how I love boots...
You make me love Tuesdays! I adore the Gilmore Girls. I've watched the whole series more times than I can count, much to my husband's dismay!
ReplyDeleteI want to see Blue Bloods too! My sister was good at Nintendo. Me, not too much.
ReplyDeleteYMCA - YMCA
ReplyDeleteSorry, It's not ABBA, but what came to mind.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, it's all OK...and I love ABBA!
ReplyDeleteI love your mad shopping skills! You and I would be an awesome shopping team. Although - my boy is just a *tad* too big for Gymboree these days....
ReplyDeleteI hate bidding wars on eBay... unless I'm the seller, haha.
ReplyDeleteI thought my cat was the only one who did that! It scared the heck out of me. It is like the end scene of "Blair Witch" project.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are always getting beat by our son in the new video games. We would always say if we had an old Nintendo we would so show you who rules. Then our awesome neighbor gave us one with all the games. I so kick everyones butt in Duckhunt
ReplyDeleteSince they were on sale AND you had a coupon, how could you go wrong! I am SO ready for fall! And the great foods that come with it.
ReplyDeleteI am SO ready for the Fall Line-up!
ReplyDeleteScore! on the shopping!
I love Abba!
I refused to admit Gilmore Girls was going off the air when it was first announced...and have complained since it has and recorded all the reruns on ABC Family...until my hubby bought me the series for my birthday this year. I can already tell my babies heart Lorelai & Rory as much as I do :o)
