I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your diary. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either.

To have cheered when Patrick Jane finally killed Red John in the season finale of The Mentalist. (Sorry if I spoiled it but it’s been out for nearly 3 weeks at this point…)
To be excited for Big Brother to come back. Yes, I know it’s a terrible show but I can’t help myself. At least I don’t watch The Bachelorette.
To have not cared about the MTV Movie Awards nor the fact that the Breaking Dawn preview was shown. Yawn.
To be glad I’m not anal about my nails breaking—they look horrible thanks to all the packing and taping I’ve been doing for the move.
To be disturbed over what goes on in Toddlers and Tiaras. I mean, okay, sometimes I do watch but it’s like a train wreck…with lots of makeup and fake eyelashes.
To know I will bitch about how hot it is in Oklahoma when we get there.
To have wanted to cheer when I found out there was a Target and a Kohls by our new house in Oklahoma.
To desperately want The Melting Pot since they gave me a coupon for a free chocolate fondue for my upcoming birthday. (Yes. There is one of those near my house in Oklahoma as well....)
To wonder why Paris Hilton has another reality show. Remember on her first one how she was like, “What’s Wal-Mart? Are there just walls there?” What’s next? Her asking, “What’s Target? Are there a bunch of targets there?”
To REALLY hate packing. I know we have movers coming but we've been packing the things that mean the most to us ourselves.

I can't believe that Paris Hilton is 30-years old. I still see her as a 21-year old tramp.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am watching The Bachelorette right now. I am hanging my head in shame.
Paris Hilton is 30?!?! Really?!?!?! That is really sad.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, great list. I agree with everything. I really liked the Twilight books. The movies on the other hand, just bad. I watched the first two and couldn't care less about seeing the last two.
oh, Toddlers and Tiaras freaks me out! I still watch it though.. but a 6 year old getting her eyebrows waxed and microderm facials?? it's just scary... and I'm with you.. **yawn** over the MTV awards and Breaking Dawn. Loved your list today!
ReplyDeleteOklahoma was pretty warm during the summer we were there, but it's also windy which helped with the heat. In OKC there is a Melting Pot! We visited there a few times when my husband was in pilot training in Enid, OK. They also have a pretty good mall in OKC that we would escape to since Enid was not an exciting place:)
ReplyDeleteLove the list. And funny you mention The Melting Pot...I heard somone talk about it last week. I had never heard of it before that.Appearantly we have one in Houston (about 30-45mins from me).
ReplyDeleteToddlers and Tiaras is def creepy...but can't help but watch. Maybe because it makes me feel better about my kids?! :)
Never watched Batchlorette. It's just looks dumb, and those people bug me.
I wish we had a Target... closest one is 90 miles and that sucks
ReplyDeleteToddlers and Tiars is a scary show! Who would do that to their kids?
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are moving to a wonderful neighborhood! Good luck with the packing!
Moving sucks and there doesn't seem to be any way to avoid it! If you want help unpacking and settling in when you get here (I'm great at kitchens and organizing.) drop me a line. Seriously! I'd love to meet you and I'm more than willing to help!
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch the last season of Big Brother because I the season before I kept feeling like I needed to turn the tv off when anyone walked into the room! Maybe I'll watch it online, in my office, with the door closed ... and headphones! :)
I don't know why Paris Hilton is even "gossip-worthy" - she just seems to be a waste of air (and skin).
ReplyDeleteI hope you move goes well!! Hope Tom is doing the heavy lifting!! (And I don't mean the eyebrow waggling).
Oh ... and all I've seen of Toddlers and Tiaras is the ads but I think that borders on child abuse! They are stealing those little girl's childhoods and setting them up for massive self-image problems in the future!
ReplyDeleteI was stoked about The Mentalist finale too!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, you will bitch about the heat, especially this year, and it's not even summer yet. And to think, you will be farther north, and therefore cooler, than where I live - in Mississippi. Be prepared to need 2 or 3 showers per day, depending on how many times you leave the house.
Paris Hilton has a show?? I thought no one wanted anything to do with her anymore...I mean she doesn't actually "do" anything.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about moving. It's super stressful and exhausting. Good luck!
I am addicted to Big Brother too! Watched every season, thats okay. I do watch Bachlor/Bachelorette too and that is okay. It is not okay that Paris has another show!!!
ReplyDeleteI live in OKC and just found the Melting Pot here.....lame. Of course I thought of you when I saw it. What part of OK are you moving to???
ReplyDeleteAll those stores and restaurants. Will you be singing the theme song to Oklahoma!?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Paris is subjecting the American people to another of her train wrecks of a show- ugggg
ReplyDeleteLove TWILIGHT- I was very late in coming to the party but now I'm hooked! I prefer the books, but can't resist watching Jacob rip his shirt off all the time <>
The Melting Pot ROCKS!! I hope you can enjoy your gift certificate after toe move & relax!
I was going to suggest you look up Beth Zimmerman and either the ladies at Testify Blog or The Real Housewives of Oklahoma when you get moved, but I see at least Beth is already here. :)
ReplyDeleteDude, we don't have a target or a khols in my neck of the canadian woods. But we do have iggloos...kidding. Just polar bears.
ReplyDeleteParis Hilton makes my head hurt. And so does Toddlers & Tiaras now that I think about it. Where in Ok are y'all moving? We were at Ft Sill for a while, and yes, it is bloody hot!
ReplyDeleteI am with you on Pairs and Toddlers. They are some scary shows.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the move. Sounds like you will have all the essentials there.
I heard about Paris's new show and wanted to stab the eyes out of whomever decided it would be a good idea to give that girl a show again.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't watch most of that crap either.
ReplyDeleteI am excited that Leverage is coming back soon.
You and your Melting Pot! You're totally going to gain 10 pounds in the first month you live there JUST from going to that restaurant until you've gotten your fill!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had Melting Pot in years but I love it! You'd better go!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm no expert on hiring a moving company cause we've always just moved ourselves, but I've heard from numerous people that they generally do not allow you to pack anything yourself due to liability. Therefore, if you do pack things, they are just going to unpack it & re-pack it to their standards. Hope I'm wrong so that you didn't just do tons of work for nothing, but thought I'd give you a heads up because I've seriously had tons of people tell me this.
Movers tomorrow!!!! When does Tom go back to finish up his Korea gig?
ReplyDeleteParis Hilton just makes me giggle --- I always think of her as a walking advertisement, "When in Paris, Stay at the Hilton."
ReplyDeleteHere in Texas, she'd not last five minutes alone...too dependent, ignorant and soft in the head. Poor little advertisement.

LOL--I am actually watching The Bachelorette right now while I read blogs! I'm so embarassed.
ReplyDeleteLOL--I am actually watching The Bachelorette right now while I read blogs! I'm so embarassed.
ReplyDeleteI never ate at The Melting Pot.. we have one really close to where I live... "Jerk Face! I know of a place where I want to eat!!"
ReplyDeleteParis Hilton... HA!
It sounds like you'll have everything you need in your new 'hood! Cool!
ReplyDeleteThe Bachelorette is one of my guilty pleasures, but somehow I've managed to avoid Big Brother. You MUST catch an episode of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding--it is mesmerizing.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the move! Target will have all of those must-have items when you get to OK.. .including fashion items.
I don't like packing either, but what I really hate is unpacking. Oh, and congrats on the chain stores we love near your new home. And won't the AC feel good on those hot days?
ReplyDeleteI cant wait for Big Brother!!!
ReplyDeletethe melting pot should have you do commercials! and give you free food. a coupon...pishaw...of course I haven't ever been able to afford the melting pot then there was the whole sister killing her younger brotherat one and shoving him in a trashcan here in utah last year that kinda put me off of it...
ReplyDeletehere's mine - http://parentplanet.info/?p=2483
Great list this week:)
ReplyDeleteWe got a MP here in SAV (I'm into L.E.T.T.E.R.S. this week)last year but havent been yet- J.C. sayd they're pretty good but that Colorado Fonue is better- they apparently have one in Orlando near where he used to live.
Are you excited?? It's time to go, right?
Hey Hey....I'm just catching up on all my blog friends. I am excited for you and your move to OK.
ReplyDeleteHope you LOVE it there and its a Great place!!!
And YAY on the Target & Kohls. I just shopped at both of those today.
And I LOVE Big Brother
.....wooohooo my summer pleasure!
