Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your diary. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either.

----------------------

To think it’s funny how people find it appalling that I’ve changed my kids on a bathroom floor. On a changing mat. Sometimes the line for the changing table is long and you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do.

To be sad that so many post offices are slated to close. I hope they don’t close the one on base. That would stink.

To have discovered I like FRESH guacamole. Not the stuff already made in a container. But FRESH. I went to One The Border and they made fresh guacamole in front of the table and it was amazing. I want more.

To not like online abbreviations. A lot of people use DS or DD for Dear Son and Dear Daughter online. I type out son and daughter. Much easier.

To always check the site retailmenot.com before I buy online. They have tons of coupon codes there.

To want to try the new lemonade Wendys is serving. I love lemonade but I’m too lazy to make it myself.

To like my first real adult cereal. Special K with Red Berries. I still love Lucky Charms though. But that Kashi crap is still years away for going in my bowl.

To be thankful for all the helpful notes I received in the previous entry on how to do a bun.

To hope Natalie makes it into PreK. She was on a waiting list and I find out today if she’s in or not. Please. For the love of chocolate, please. Momma needs a few hours of quiet.

To be looking forward to the new American Pie movie. And no, it’s not a straight to DVD one. It’s called American Reunion and it’s about the high school 10 year reunion. All the original characters are back. (Stifler!)

  1. Oh, I absolutely *hate* online abbreviations. It's so much easier to read something with actual words than trying to figure out if DF is "dear father" or "dear fiance" or what. UGH.

My husband speaks in letters. He'll actually say "lol" if he thinks something is funny. Drives me up the wall.

  3. I'm with you on the Special K with Red Berries AND the Lucky Charms. They're magically delicious.

  4. I love fresh guac too. Once you have it fresh, its hard to go back to the other stuff. Oh I hope Natalie makes it into prek! Fingers crossed for your few hours of quiet!

  6. DD, DS, and DH just make me feel ALL KINDS of stabby.

Also, Kashi will never touch my cereal bowl.

  7. I never knew those DS abbreviations. And yea, not much a fan of the "grown- up" cereals either. Love me some Corn Pops and Frosted Flakes.

  8. I hate those abbreviations too. Don't know what they all mean.

  9. I HATE the abbreviations! I always have to google what something means, and then it brings up a ridiculous list of what it COULD mean.. ugh!
**Comment on Bess's comment: My MIL always says 'OMG' - annoying! You're in your 50's, not a tween!

*I always do a coupon code check before I buy stuff! I have saved so much money that way!

Cinnamon Life/Honey Nut Cheerios is about as grown up as it gets for me! :) *although, I did like one of the Kashi's cereal - the honey almond? - I put it in my yogurt when I pretend that I eat healthy ;)

  10. You just made my day... AMerican Reunion??? I can't wait!

I like Special K Cinnamon Pecan and Vanilla Almond, but truthfully, I'm not a big cereal eater. I'd rather have yogurt or a bagel.

Good luck with the PreK! Hope she gets in!

  11. fingers crossed that she gets into prek.

I've changed my children on the floor too. I hate waiting in line, and there is always some mom who needs to take forever.

  12. The the DS, DD, DH stuff annoys me too. I just like to write it out. I've tried to like Kasi too, but it's just too bland.

  13. I love American Pie. I can't wait for the next one. Woo hoo!

  14. Our Post Office is closing. :(

Our town only has 1800 people, and there are still 2 more post offices within 5 miles, so it makes fiscal sense to close it.

Still sad to see it go. It's been open since the town was founded in 1836.

  17. Fresh guacamole is addicting...made without pre-packaged ingredients, just spices from your own pantry and a tad bit of sour cream.

My homemade guacamole is something everyone always begs to eat when they come to visit. If they only knew how NOT difficult it was to prepare! haha

  20. Love ALL the flavored Special K's. Did you know they make a chocolate one?

  21. I used to change my daughter wherever we were. Middle of the food court at the mall, once while we were waiting for a bus in DC and many places at Disney World. If you don't like it, don't look.

  22. I love guacamole and special k red berries. they are too staples I always have :)

  23. That Special K cereal is good- have you tried the one with chocolate? It's good & your forget that you are eating healthy.

  24. Is it okay to have not known nor cared what DD and DS meant?

Fingers crossed that Natalie gets into PreK!

  26. I love reading a blog like yours where I don't have to open up a second window to google what all the abbreviations mean. What can I say, we showed up to this internet thing a little later than everyone else. KWIM? Ha ha, kidding.

  27. I didn't know about the American Pie reunion. That's great news. Also thanks for the tidbit to check that site out for coupons. I use Ebates myself but who knows? Great post today!

  28. Fresh guac is 10 times better than the packaged stuff!! Yummy.

  29. I don't even USE the changing table in the bathroom. I usually take her out to the car when we are at the mall. Simply because I have extreme germaphobe issues when it comes to public restrooms. Even for myself. ::gag:: I also live in Redneck Central, so only the Good Lord knows what has happened in that bathroom...::gagX2::

  30. I do not like online abbreviations, because my memory is like a crack baby and I can never recall what they stand for...it's frustrating. ;)

Hope Natalie gets into Pre-K! Fingers crossed!!

  31. Fresh guacamole: food of the gods!

I hope Natalie makes it into the program-- I feel your pain!

  32. Did I mention that though I love Design Star on HGTV, that gal, Cathy with the crazy eyes makes me want to do damage to my TV!!!! Does anyone else want her to just close her eyes or open them, but quit going back and forth from squint to Marty Feldman????

  33. OHhhhh I am so addicted to Special K with Red berries. I eat it at least 2 times a day (everyday).
    I Loooooooove it!
Thanks for the coupon website....I'll check it out!
Good Luck getting Natalie into Pre-K!

  34. Dude. Special K with red berries is YUM! And I've changed my kid on the floor before, too. I didn't ENJOY it, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

  35. 1) You are a saint for introducing me to retailmenot.com. I love Kohl's coupons!!!
    2) All Special K cereals are amazing; they're all I eat. The Cinnamon Pecan is my favorite, and the Chocolate one (once I got over the disappointment for it not tasting exactly like chocolate) is good, too. And the vanilla almond! And the berry! MmmMmm!
    3) Thanks for the new American Pie tip!
