--To appreciate all the soldiers out there who have fought for their country. You are not forgotten. I wish the government would always make sure our veterans were safe and taken care of, because they deserve only the best.
--To not feel sorry for Teresa and Joe Guidice (from Real Housewives of New Jersey.) They were sentenced to go to jail for fraud, and they deserve it. I do feel for their kids.
--To be nearly done with Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. I recently finished Sharp Objects, which I liked. Dark Places is just as good.
--To have taken Tommy out on a date when Natalie had a birthday sleepover last weekend. We went to Golden Corral. On Friday she's going to Kid's Night Out at her gymnastics and Tommy requested Chilis. I love being able to take my kids out one-on-one. I feel it's important.
--To be proud of Natalie for moving up in her gymnastics class. Her teacher said she does beautiful work on the bars, so she's been moved to Rec Gym 2. I was always terrified of the bars.
--To have to wait to see Big Hero 6 until Tom gets home from deployment training. It looks funny. We also want to see the new Penguins movie.
--To be happy that an Old Navy is opening up by the house. Yay! They have cute clothes.
--To still have a giveaway for an Orkin blanket here. Also, if you know someone who wants to learn how to keep their house tidy, check out my review on The Life-Changing Magic Of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo here.
--To have introduced the kids to Beetlejuice:
They liked it. Natalie thought Beetlejuice was rude. Tommy thought Lydia was "very beautiful."
We are so excited to watch Big Hero 6! Hopefully this weekend! yay!
ReplyDeleteSomeone asked me the other day what I got as a veteran.... I looked at them and said "bragging rights". The amount of people that are shocked that that's about all we get still astounds me.
ReplyDeleteBig Hero 6 was so good. Totally cute and will play on your emotions in true Disney form. Also, stay until the credits end. They do a Marvel ending with a small clip at the end.
Thank you to Tom for his service. Thank you also to you, Tommy, and Natalie for putting up with it.
ReplyDeleteorder old navy shizz today - HUGE sale; 50% off or more on a ton of stuff. i just placed an order and shipping is free over $50!
ReplyDeleteI think it's awesome that you get to have one-on-one dates with each of your kids!! :)
ReplyDeleteI would probably die if an Old Navy opened up really close to my house... I would want to spend so much money there. As is I want to go buy a bunch of things but I need to save for the wedding we are going to in Mexico at the end of the month. Also, glad to hear you liked those other books by Gillian Flynn... Gone Girl made me so angry by the end that I had debated not reading any of her other books even though some of my friends told me I would like them!
ReplyDeleteSo funny the view that the kids have on Beetlejuice.
ReplyDeleteLove that you and Tommy are getting some dates while Natalie is busy - I love doing stuff with just one of the boys at a time.
How long do you have to wait until he gets back? Hope you get to see BH6 soon! I saw it with my kids because my husband did not want to go to the theater and I told him he missed an awesome movie that he'll totally love.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that you make time for your kids one-on-one!
ReplyDeleteHappy veterans day to your husband! Tommy is starting to look a lot like your husband.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThank you to your husband for his service! He is very much appreciated. And you are as well. IT's because of the wives and kids that they keep going. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI want to see Big Hero 6!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love taking my kids out one on one. Last Tuesday, Scarlet had off for Election Day so I took her to breakfast when Des was at school.
On Thursdays, the first day Des doesn't have school, I like to take him out for lunch. We get soup!
I love that you introduced them to Beetlejuice! Also, you should be proud of Natalie, that's fantastic! I also love how happy Tommy looks on your "dates".
ReplyDeleteAh Beetlejuice - such a great movie! Love that you go out on dates with your kiddos. Thanks to you and your husband for his service!
ReplyDeleteKid date night is important. I don't get to do it one on one as often as I'd like.
ReplyDeleteTesting. No more pop up comment thingy.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are dying to see Big Hero 6! Hopefully we can go over the winter holidays when school and weekend activities slow down.
ReplyDeleteOh, I LOVE when I get a one-on-one dinner date with the kids. It's so much fun! I actually cried when they moved the Old Navy that was 5 minutes from my house to a location 20 minutes from my house. That was my GO TO place. It was devastating. I'm happy you are getting one close to you!! --Lisa
ReplyDeleteIt's okay to feel annoyed with the nurse in Maine who didn't want to be quarantined after coming home from Liberia.... she should understand how people are afraid of ebola.
ReplyDeleteI love beetle juice because it's the only movie where someone has my last name. And it's the coolest character, of course. I don't feel bad for Joe or Teresa either. The kids? Sad.
