Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your blog. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either. Just make sure you link up and that the post you link up is a Hey, It's Okay Post. Grab the button if you'd like!
-----------

--To have been grossed out by the naked Kim Kardashian photos because she looked incredibly sticky.

--To hope I didn't offend anyone with my Single Parents Have My Utmost Respect post. I got a comment saying that the post could come across as offensive. I truly didn't mean it that way. I did receive 3 e-mails from single parents thanking me for the post at least and positive comments, so I'm glad most people understood what I meant.

--To have taken Tommy out on a date when Natalie was at Kids Night Out. We went to Chili's. You can see photos on my Instagram account.

--To hate when people use their car horn to say hello to others. It always makes me jump. I am a jumpy person, you see.

--To not be looking forward to dragging out all the Christmas stuff next week. I love it, don't get me wrong, but my garage scares me. I really should organize.

--To LOVE the signature hot chocolate from Panera Bread. Try it. You won't be disappointed. It's better than the Starbucks hot chocolate.

--To have not been thrilled with the snow we got on Sunday. Natalie was very excited though. On Monday, school was canceled because Oklahoma doesn't know how to deal with snow or ice. The people are like, "What is this stuff?" They go into a muppet Beaker-like panic. So we got a snow day.

  2. I too was grossed out by Kim K. I also don't understand the huge deal? She took her clothes off...great she did that when she made the sex tape...
Also, I too was not impressed with the snow Sunday/Monday. I woke up so grumpy because I do not like being cold!

  3. I grew up in Northern Utah, so the fact that they closed the school for the dusting of snow you got is funny to me. Although, I live in Arizona now, and my kids got a rain day earlier this year. Totally serious. I was annoyed, because I thought they might get the day off, so I checked everywhere, and then when I didn't see a cancellation I woke the kids up. To have it cancelled 10 minutes after they were up. I just wanted to sleep.

  4. I jump at car horns too. and can't believe you got a snow day!

  5. I hate when people honk to say hello too! I always think there's going to be a wreck or something. I also HATE when songs have honking in them or when commercials on the radio do... or when DJs use honking sounds for their traffic reports Ugh. I always immediately look around to see why someone is honking and think I'm about to get hit! :-/

  6. A snow day for that? Oh no no no.

I'm never excited to decorate. If I wasn't with MFD I'd have a tree and like two other things out and that's it.

I think some people are easily offended. I hope those people never read my blog.

  7. I'm surprised that people took your post the wrong way or thought anyone would be offended - I think some people just look for ways to be bothered!!!
It makes me laugh that y'all had a snow day for that amount of snow - I know that places in TX had even less and still had a late start yesterday.

  8. I didn't have a problem with your post- in fact, I always say that I don't know how single parents AND military spouses do it. My husband travels 2-3 weeks at a time and it sucks and I complain about it but it is definitely not on par with year long deployments and single parenting.

  9. That's how it is in MD when it snows. People can't deal with so much as a few flakes on the ground. Everything closes. It's such a joke!

  10. I didn't find your post offensive at all. I thought it was truthful and on point. I'm in San Diego. The entire world would shut down if we got snow LOL.

  11. Yes, honking to say hi is distracting. It is supposed to be used to get people's attention when they are about to hit you or they are just sitting at a green light when I am ready to go. Even then, I don't like it when they lay on the horn. A quick little beep is just fine.

  12. Eeeww Kim... why? that's all I could think. oh and, You're 15 minutes were up SO LONG AGO.

Our bus was 40 minutes late today. which means my kids, and more importantly ME - were outside in the cold and blowing snow waiting. waiting. and waiting. gggrrrr. At least it did arrive and school was not cancelled though. because all I wanted was a coffee and a hot bath in solitude when I got back home half frozen.

  13. I miss being a kid and being excited about snow. Now, I freak out at the first sign of a damn FLURRY.

  14. The post was not offensive!
I tried the signature hot chocolate last year, after hearing about it from you. I wasn't disappointed! Well I bought it for Scarlet who ate the marshmallows and left me the rest.
Also, the Kardashian photo is ridiculous. It would be one thing if it was real, and not heavily photoshopped.

  15. We got a snow day and I woke up to no snow. So Kentucky gets scared at the possibility of snow. Its crazy. As a single mom I knew where you were coming from.

  16. Cracking up at the two flakes of snow that closed school. And that people have sleds out! ;D Glad your girly had fun in it! Also, I kept thinking Kim K. was going to slide off things all day. Ick. And Ick.

  17. I hate car horns. Not a honker. Your post wasn't offensive at all -that commenter was overreacting big time. Snow is pretty rare here too, so it's quite the novelty when it happens! And I loved the picture of tommy cracking up in your post about your mom and son dinner - so cute.

  18. Seattle panics when it snows too - although we are surrounded by a million big hills which have to be driven on, so there is that. Hot chocolate is my favorite, thanks for the tip. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought Kim K. looked kind of gross.

  19. Those KK pictures just gross me out, but most of the spoofs have been pretty funny! I just don't understand why people need attention that badly. And that's said by a blogger who puts a lot out there!

  20. Say no more! Stopping at Panera immediately for some hot chocolate today! YUM!-Ashley

  21. I didn't know panera had hot chocolate! I will definitely be checking it out!

  22. wait...who the hell uses their car horn to say "hello" to people?!?! That's odd!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am so not ready for this snow either!! It isn't even close to December yet, it should NOT be snowing anywhere yet! And I haven't tried the Panera Hot Chocolate, but I may just have to make a stop there tomorrow!

    ReplyDelete
  24. No snow here yet either but it can stay that way for all I care. I don't need it right now at all. Is it okay to fall apart completely occasionally?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Panera's hot chocolate is so much better than Starbucks! My garage is terrifying. I'm not looking forward to having to get the decorations out of there, either.

  26. Eek a snow day! We never get those in LA. Not even a heat wave day.

  27. YIKES! I didn't think your post was offensive at all. The car horn thing scares me too. I always think someone is honking at me and I have a mini-heart attack immediately
