Spring Break Fun: Medieval Times in Dallas

Huzzah!

When we were in Dallas during Spring Break, we went to Medieval Times.

I had gotten us tickets on base, which meant we were automatically upgraded to VIP Royalty status.

Our show as at 5, so we got there at 4. You want to arrive early because there are lines to check in. They'll assign you a color for your knight. As you see, we had the green knight.

There are also things to look at while you wait. For instance, we got to meet the king:

You can also buy things. Natalie picked out an axe. I asked Tommy if he wanted anything and he went, "Nah."

There is lots of different stands to check out. Plus you can purchase some beverages in fun glasses. Or you can get booze if your kids aren't listening.

You can also buy light up toys. And confuse your husband when you randomly take photos. Even though he knows I blog, he still finds it bizarre that I take photos so much.

We amused ourselves as we waited. Well. The kids and I did. Tom was just like, "Uh?"

Now, something fun you can do is have someone in your party knighted. It can just be for fun, or because of a special occasion. We decided to have Natalie knighted since her birthday was coming up. It was $30 and she got a photo, plus a hat she picked out.

Soon after, the king and his people come out to say that it's time to dine.

The areas are color coordinated so since we had the green knight, we were in the green section.

There is no silverware. You eat with your hands.

Then the show begins. All the knights will come out:

Eventually all the knights will fight and there will be one standing. You cheer for your knight, obviously.

Guess what? Our knight won!

It's an awesome show that takes about two hours. Everyone had fun.

I recommend this! It's fun to do as a couple. It's fun to do with friends. It's fun to do as a family. Warning: you might lose your voice from shouting so much.

But it's worth it!

Have you even been to Medieval Times?

  3. I totally forgot about them not having silverware. It's been about ten years since I have been there. We need to take my four year old. He would love it! Did you think it was dusty? I have asthma and remember it being pretty dusty. Hopefully they've changed that in the last ten years. My son has bad allergies, so I'd have to check into that before taking him.

  5. We've taken our kids to the Excalibur show in Las Vegas, and they LOVED it. Unfortunately, they wouldn't eat anything except the pastry, so we have a hard time with going back. It makes me crazy that I pay that much, and they won't touch the food, lol.

    1. Yes, some of the food weirded out my kids, but for the most part they ate a lot of it.

  7. Yes, we went on a field trip there in 5th grade or so! I remember a king telling me to keep my crown on. Also, the chicken was delicious. I still remember that.
