Hey, It's Okay

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. You can link up any day of the week. All you have to do is make a list of what you're okay about. Simple! Please do not link up a post that has nothing to do with Hey, It's Okay. It's rude. To the lady who keeps linking up religious posts that has nothing to do with this: stop it.

Hey, It's Okay....

....to have a giveaway for a DVD/Blu-Ray combo of Max 2: White House Hero here.

....to be weirded out when people say "Happy Memorial Day." There's really nothing happy about it.

....to have had a low key weekend. I mostly read books and watched Gilmore Girls. Oh, and I ate.

....to be excited that House Of Cards starts today on Netflix. Yay!

....to have been underwhelmed for the season finale of Scandal. What happened to Olivia?

....to be impatiently waiting for a bunch of books to become available at the library. I have tons on hold.

....to need to pick up more chocolate because the kids get out of school on Thursday and I'm afraid. Some people love having their kids home all the time. I am not one of those people. I need my quiet. My son is quiet, but my daughter? Is not.

....to love my new library book stamp shirt. It goes perfectly with my book purse. (You can buy the shirt on Amazon here. It's an affiliate link which means if you purchase I get a small portion of the sale and maybe in like 1 year I'll earn enough to be able to buy a book.)

  1. There are A LOT of people out there who don't understand what Memorial Day is all about. And that is really sad.

  2. I finally have started buying books again and I'm so happy. I usually don't go this long without reading...my brain was beginning to ooze out the door. Hahaha.
I hope Tom had a good weekend. Thank him for his service. :)

  3. I love this - so much of it is true, I was talking to my parents about our local library at the weekend it is downsizing as not many use it anymore which is kinda sad.

  4. I felt bad about "celebrating" Memorial Day this year. At least at the baseball game we went to there was a moment of silence! I've been trying to figure out what mental illness Olivia has. What a strange character! I'm excited to watch House of Cards!

  5. I love your list! You know, about Memorial Day..it is a sad day, but I think that the men and women who sacrificed their lives for us would be happy that we celebrate their sacrifices to keep us free. I don't get the sales though. Pointless. I love your it's okay list. I'm going to have to keep one. Today, it's okay for me to catch up on Good Witch season 3 and chill out.

  6. Uh Oh! I don't know when to tell my husband about HOUSE OF CARDS - because once I do... I will never see him again until he finished the entire season!

  7. I've been hearing so much about House of Cards. I need to check it out so I can be in the loop.

  11. I am so excited about House of Cards! I just got the notification that it's available. Yay!

  12. I'm not that excited for House of Cards. I had a hard time getting through season 2 and didn't finish season 3.

  13. I love this short post! We tend to beat ourselves up over so many things...and most of it is okay!

  14. You are right, there are nothing happy about Memorial Day, but we have to remember all those who sacrificed their souls for others to survive!

  15. This is a great idea. I will have to check out House of Cards this weekend. We are supposed to have some rain so I will be stuck inside all weekend.

  21. It’s okay to fail, but just make sure you learn from it. This is something I learned over time.

  22. Ok, seriously your new purse and shirt are awesome and so totally you! I also need to replenish my emergency chocolate and caffeine, because chaos is home to stay after Thursday!

  23. I thought I was the only one with lots of books on hold at the library. The impatient side of me thinks that maybe I should buy one or two just to get by. The practical side says wait!

  24. Really, everything on your list is just okay! I this week, it is okay for me to get little sleep. Work has been so demanding but as you said, its' okay! It puts food on the table.

  25. What a fun list and idea! It's totally ok to have a stash of chocolate in the house - It helps keep us sane!

  27. So fun and love this series of yours. I hope you enjoyed your weekend. I miss going to the library. Also love your t shirt and so cool with your book bag.

  28. So many people don't understand the meaning of Memorial Day, it isn't just a day for a cookout. I can't say I was underwhelmed by the Scandal finale but can say I didn't expect it to go the way that it did.

  29. Scarlet will have camp for most of the summer but not Des. I'll need chocolate too!!

  30. We don't observe Memorial Day where I live but we do have a Day of Valor for those who died during the second World War. I think it's definitely not a day to attach the word "Happy" to, so I don't really get why people do that. I guess they forgot why it's observed in the first place.

  31. I don't like the 'Happy Memorial Day' thing either. You're right. It's a day of reverence, certainly not happy.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well I guess most of the people just go and greet about the Memorial Day for the sake of social media. Not even knowing the real reason about the day. Wasn't able to see the design of your shirt, your too shy to flaunt it? and oh by the way, I love your bag! -ANOSA

  33. This is really important, take out some me time, to wear good dresses and to love your outfit because it's you who carries it. Go, take some me time, for shopping and food, it is the refreshment lifeline

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ok, being a librarian I am definitely going to have to see that stamp shirt. That is so cool. Although long gone are the days of stamps. But I love it still.

  35. We didn't celebrate memorial day here. We just spent time in the house and with family. It's a reminder to me to be thankful for my family, because some don't have theirs!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I salute to the all that has fought for our country. It is a day of remembrance.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I am with you about the whole Memorial Day thing. You made me smile about the whole chocolate, kids out of school, and being afraid.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think that shirt is rad. Of course kids today won't even know what it means - but old people like us will!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Ahh, without you, I wouldn't have known that HoC was starting this week. Ha! Ooh, I hope you get all the books you've put on hold soon!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh that book purse is so lovely! And the shirt is so cool Maybe it's time to go on the library.

  41. Hahaha my hubby is obsessed with scandal and really any type of crime show! I'm not usually into those shows but scandal is a good one!

  42. Growing up with just about every male in our family serving the military, the whole Memorial Day thing can be tedious hearing people who have no idea talk. Sounds like your weekend was good!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I agree with you about Memorial Day. People think it's just about BBQs and backyard parties and they have forgotten the real meaning of this observance.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm also underwhelmed with Scandal lately. It's OK
