Do you know what day it is?
I don't.
During winter break, I forget what day it is and have to think about it. All the days get blurred together. I mean, the kids are out of school. My husband gets random days off at work. So it's no wonder I don't know what's going on, who I am, or what bloody day it is.
We did have an enjoyable Christmas though. It started at 9, because I do not wake early. Honestly, some years I had to wake up my kids, but this year they were ready to go when I stumbled out of bed.
My son got many video games so I can count on one hand how many times I've seen or conversed with him since Christmas:
He also got Bob Ross shirts, because he loves Bob Ross. He says his voice is soothing:
My daughter got a bunch of random stuff:
My husband got me Mr. Poopy Butthole and a Plumbus. Don't know what they are? Watch Rick & Morty.
I got my husband this shirt, because he thinks this when he has to go shopping with us. Or when we're at a theme park and all over the place and all he wants to do is MAKE A PLAN. (But it's why he's no longer allowed to come to Disney with us. It's hard for him to go with the flow.)
He also got one of those bears that look friendly at first, and then get angry:
We also got a BB-8! He's pretty cool. He's remote control, he responds to your voice, and he'll follow you. Ruby the cat is like ????
Here is BB-8 responding to us and freaking out when we say Kylo Ren:
I won't lie, paper and boxes were still in the house the day after Christmas, because I don't have OCD and I, quite frankly, was too lazy to deal with it all after getting all of Natalie stuff out of the boxes. WHY is it so complicated at times? WHY are there so many hard ties holding things down? WHY did I keep losing the scissors?
I felt like Angry Snowball:
But you know, who cares if the house is messy? Memories were made!
And that's what's important.
How was your Christmas?

Merry Christmas! What a lovely set of presents! There's tons of them! I hope everyone is happy.
ReplyDeleteThe mess following Christmas is almost not worth it. It causes me SO MUCH STRESS to have to find homes for all the new stuff that comes into my house.
ReplyDeleteFYI there is a bob ross chia pet head at Walmart. haha I love that dang shirt your son got. But yea I am sooooo disoriented and thrown off this week!
ReplyDeleteI love this!! Such a great Christmas! I swear my days are running together haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm so like you, I kept on looking at my phone today to just know what day it is then I forgot to change the date on the clock on my bedside which still reads boxing day so you can imagine how all I'm just waiting for people to start telling me Happy new year. To be honest, my Christmas was dull and just blah I am done trying to invite in-laws who spoil every mood.
ReplyDeleteRick & Morty is amazing! I want a BB8 too! My christmas was amazing! Spent it in Germany in my partner's family and it was great!
ReplyDeleteLol my Christmas scene was similar to yours this year. I couldn't leave things though and had to get all the boxes out of my way ASAP! xxx
ReplyDeleteMy house is still not put back together yet. I got hit with chills, fever, etc Christmas night and I'm just now starting to feel a little better. We had a wonderful Christmas too (except for the sick part).
ReplyDeleteAwww looks like you guys had a great Christmas and I appreciate the fun theme you had in gifts. I spent my holidays vacationing in Sedona, Arizona. It was my first time there :)
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! A BB-8...I so definitely want one! And those angry stuffed toys..hilarious, but I know I would love these, myself!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a wonderful family Christmas. Everyone received such fun gifts! My Christmas was wonderful too, but it was divided into three separate parties as we have a growing family on both sides. Finally, on Christmas evening my husband and I had a chance to rest after all the cooking, cleaning and parties. But we felt like we needed at least one full day to recover!
ReplyDeleteFun gifts for everyone!
ReplyDeleteOmg I was just telling my husband yesterday I thought it was Saturday! I’m so lost! Looks like you guys had a blast! Cool gifts by the way.
ReplyDeleteIs that the screaming HeiHei toy? One of our friends got it for her kid for Christmas... not anticipating how annoying a toddler with a screaming HeiHei could be.
ReplyDeleteOur house was the same way! Cleaning everything up wasn't as important as letting the kids play and enjoy their new toys! We also got the chicken from Moana because my son is obsessed with that movie!! It looks like you and your family had a wonderful Christmas, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI can tell your whole family are having a blast opening their gifts. This year I tried to unloose and just enjoy the holidays.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that your husband got you a Mr. Poopy Butthole and a Plumbus makes him the perfect partner for you! Rick & Morty is such a fantastic show.
ReplyDeleteI remember the after math of christmas when the kids were young. Now it doesn't take anytime at all to take down the tree and get back to normal.
ReplyDeleteI love BB8! I also love and see Hei Hei. Sounds like the perfect Christmas to me! It cracks me up that your son loves Bob Ross.
ReplyDeleteChristmas this year was different than usual. My girls were sick and we spent it home, eating soup and drinking tea. But, overall, happy and together. Which is what matters most.
ReplyDeleteIts funny, I'm feeling the same way right now. My kids don't go back to school until January 8th so I'll be feeling this way for a little over a week more. I think its funny that your son knows who Bob Ross is. LOL
ReplyDeleteI wish I could forget what day it was between Christmas and New Years, dang work! HA! I hope you had a great holiday!
ReplyDeleteAwww it looks like you had an amazing Christmas. Its great to see the children appreciate the gifts that they got even with the smallest gifts! Thats beautiful. I hope that you have an even amazing new year
