6 Reasons Why You Need JoyRun If You're In The Military

This post is sponsored by JoyRun. Nevertheless, all opinions are my own.

My husband is in the military. And sometimes he'll be at work, wishing he could get something to for lunch. Obviously he can't leave because he doesn't have an office job. He's a military training instructor, so he's almost always on the go.

"You can get food now when you're at work," I told him.

He was all, "Oh, you'll actually bring me something?" and I said, "No, not me. The JoyRun app."

It's the friendlier way to get the food or drink that you need. Plus, there's NO minimums so if all you want is a $3 coffee, that's fine. There's also no crazy delivery fees.

It's usually military spouses or military members on their time off delivering the food, so it's a wonderful sense of community.

Here are other reasons why you need to check out Joy Run.

1. It's easy!  I signed up with my Facebook account, so it took me less than 5 minutes to get onto the app. To order, I simply pushed the order button and picked what I wanted after quickly putting in a credit card number.

2. You're helping people earn money for repairs, college textbooks, etc. The people who get the food or drinks, or Runners as they are called on the app, will sometimes share why they are doing the runs. So you can feel good about helping someone in your area out.

3. Many drivers can get on base! In the past it could be frustrating when you would want to order food, but the driver couldn't get on base. With Joy Run, most of them LIVE or work on base, so it's not an issue. You know if they can get on base if it shows LACKLAND in the pickup area.

4. YOU can earn money too! JoyRun rewards you for picking up what your neighbors or work buddies want. Want to be a Runner? Well, it's simple to sign up and become one. Sometimes you can even earn a $20 bonus for signing up. So check the JoyRun app and see!

5. Also, you are able to save $5 on your first order with a code. I used FREE5, but some Runners have their own personal code you can use.

6. Craving something but you don't see an option of what you want? You can Make A Request! Usually someone will offer to pick it up within 10 minutes.

As you see, I made a request for Chipotle. Now, because I don't live on base, I didn't have as many delivery options, but one popped up for San Antonio.

I used the code FREE5 to save $5 on my first order. That basically took the place of the $5 Runner's fee.

When you place the order, you'll see an approximate delivery time. Also, when the Runner picks up your order, you'll get a message saying so and sometimes they might text saying that they're on their way.

I saw a vehicle pull up in front of the house less than an hour later. I didn't want to freak her out by asking for a photo.

Yes, please TIP your Runner. If you don't have cash, you can do this with the app.

Our Chipotle was delivered in a bag and everything was correct:

Now, just a note, there is a $30 limit for orders since it's supposed to be quick pick-ups and deliveries. If you need a bigger order, you can request the Runner open a second Run for you. I had to do this, and my Runner was very accommodating, so she allowed it.

Everyone in my family was happy because they didn't have to eat my cooking.

If you know someone in the military, let them know about JoyRun. They don't have to go hungry while at work. Or, if you're a military spouse looking to earn some extra cash, check out JoyRun.

You don't HAVE to be a military spouse or part of the military to enjoy JoyRun either. Anyone can use the app! It's also popular in college towns because students can help pay off loans by becoming a Runner. Also, college kids love to eat. Naturally.

So, what would you order?

  2. I've never heard of this app but it defiantly sounds like one to download. I am not in the military but I'm sure this is definitely something I can use. What a creative way to earn what that person needs. I love the idea of having them write down what they're working towards. Text books can be so expensive so this is great for that.

  3. Shut the front door!!! Oh my goodness I’m so happy I found this! We are a military family and I can’t even tell you the number of times I’ve had to bring my husbands lunch to the company area. Now he can order it himself! Plus when we live on Post we won’t have the restrictions of what delivery services can get through the gate!!! Amazing
