HEY, IT'S OKAY....
.....to hope it doesn't rain on Halloween! It's showing we have a slight chance. If it does, we'll keep going!
....to think it's crazy that some places have age limits for trick-or-treating. Any age should be able to go! I've given candy to grown adults in costume.
.....to have had a blast seeing the We Will Rock You musical. If you love Queen, you have to see it! They're currently doing a North America tour. (And there's a UK one!)
....to be excited to try the chicken sandwich at Popeye's. I didn't get to the first time around, so I'm curious. Apparently they return November 3rd.
.....to have gone to my husband's work Halloween party. Natalie had said she wanted to go. Then a friend asked if she wanted to hang out and she said she'd prefer to do that. I said, nope, sorry, you said you'd go with us and it's rude to cancel. I don't want her growing up thinking it's okay to cancel when something better comes along. She ended up having a good time though! I think the candy she got helped ;)

ReplyDeleteI think trick-or-treating should be for all age groups as well. Especially, if that person is dressed in a costume.
ReplyDeleteOur local weather is showing 90% chance of rain on Halloween! UGH! I hope the percentage goes down, or is inaccurate! I agree on doing away with the age limit. It's one time a year!

We are supposed to get record low temperatures on Halloween. They are predicting the highs in the 50's and lows in the 30s. Brrr. Today, the weather channel announced the first freeze warning of the year. I'm hoping it isn't too bad or we may cut it short. I've got to go buy some candy tonight to pass out. I don't get the age limit on trick or treating. But then there are some of the older kids that are just rude at the door. I'm sure they spoiled it for the rest of the kids.

ReplyDeleteI have been doing this daily since I first saw your articles. I need this to put me in check. Yesterday it was "hey, it's ok the lady by me was washing her entire car with the sgueegee and windshield wiper cleaner at the gas station and my kids had way to much fun laughing!" I couldn't control their laughter!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't care less if it rains on Halloween- my kids are young so we dress up and just pass out candy from the porch! My favorite way to do it! #recoveringsuperwoman

ReplyDeleteYes! Teaching your children that they shouldn't cancel when something better comes along can be a hard lesson (some adults don't do it), but it shows respect to the person you already made plans with.
ReplyDeleteI'm okay with the fact that things aren't perfect. They won't be all the time because life isn't perfect.
I agree with it being rude to cancel just because something better comes along. That just leads to hurt feelings.
