Stop Hoarding The Toilet Paper

For the love of chocolate.

STOP HOARDING THE TOILET PAPER.

I am sick of going down aisles and seeing this:

I am glad that stores are refusing returns on toilet paper. Maybe that'll stop the hoarding. Most stores now only allow one package per house. But when this all started, there were people walking out with carts FULL of toilet paper and I was like:

I mean, did they expect to suddenly poop all over the place? Who needs 1000 rolls of toilet paper? Why not save some for others?

It's gotten to the point where I've joined Facebook groups to find out what stores have toilet paper. But by the time I see the posts, it's too late. I have not seen toilet paper on shelves in about two weeks now. People say in order to find some that you have line up at 5 AM and be there when they open at 8. I mean?

STOP HOARDING THE TOILET PAPER

I never thought I'd see the day when toilet paper was non existent. Do we have to go back to chamber pots? Some people have gotten bidets. I already told the kids if we run out that they'll just have to use the bathroom and jump in the shower.

Maybe the people who have an abundance of toilet paper will start sharing with others? That would be kind. If I find a huge pack, I plan on asking my local neighborhood group if anyone needs a roll.

So have you seen toilet paper on the shelves lately?

  2. social media really brings panic to everyone. here in our country, the top most item that was being hoard was the alcohol, but thank God that the government and also the stores are limiting the items to buy as of now.

  3. here in the PH, it's actually funny for us that people are hoarding toilet paper outside our country. in my country, we are using "tabo". haha. you might want to google it. it's being passed here as meme.

  4. That is so true, it's crazy! We've also found it really hard to find toilet paper here, as well as masks and hand sanitizer. - Ola @ WanderWithOla

  5. I haven't been to the stores but I know the stocks have been low. Isn't it strange how everyone buys what everyone else buys?

  6. Seriously, it's out of control. And can we add PPE like gloves and masks to this? We're running out of them at my job and we actually NEED those.

  7. Rapid Fire Pizza where I live is giving away a roll of toilet paper with a $20 purchase on Friday. A local bakery made toilet paper cupcakes. It is just getting strange now.

  8. A couple of weeks ago I purchased toilet paper out of need. Since then, I've been giving it to friends and family in need who haven't been able to find any.

  9. Oh girl you are so right!! I don't get it either. There is no sense doing that!!! I'm glad I had just gone to Same about a month ago and grabbed one of their giant packages of toilet paper. I hope this holds us until I can go in the store and see some. There is none to be found in my area of Florida. Stay safe.

  10. Holy smokes, you are so correct! Luckily I still have some from my Costco trip before this craziness began. I fear it won't be over when I run out. I haven't seen any in stores or online for a couple weeks either. Happy toilet paper hunting...

  11. I am glad that I have plenty of toilet paper and a bidet. My frustration was flour as the stores had none. My friend who is a baker, has too much and is giving me some.

  12. We had a delivery of 6 today and I took a HUGE breath as we were getting low and it has been weeks since any arrived with the shopping! I don't know what people are doing with all this loo roll!

  13. This whole toilet paper thing is so ridiculous!!!! I seriously have no idea why people feel the need to suddenly hoard toilet paper?? What I do is ask the stores when they are expecting their next delivery of toilet paper, and then I make sure I'm one of the first few there that day. I've never had to stand in line or get there really early either. Best wishes on finding some.

  14. I so agree with this. So frustrating, even though I haven't had to buy toilet paper because I had just bought a huge pack at Costco. The same thing happened with bread and all I kept thinking was how many people ended up throwing it away because it went bad while everyone else went without. I am sad that our society has been so backwards. We should all be better than that.

  15. Gots say, “for the love of chocolate” is the most creative way I’ve seen a blog post started in a while. That really made my day. As for the rest of the post, thank you for bringing up a serious issue. Times like this will only be gotten through by kindness and consideration of others.

  16. I'm so beyond annoyed with people. I hope all of those TP hoarders get paper cuts in their nether regions.

  17. I feel like that Amy Schumer GIF every day, all day. Especially now. My husband and I laugh because we cannot figure out why they would need more than the normal amount they would buy. I love the whole "if you need 200 rolls of toilet paper for a month, you needed to see a doctor long before now".

  18. I honestly don't understand what is the idea of hoarding toilet papers, like why!! This is totally not needed.

  19. I don't understand the need to hoard toilet paper. My husband is a grocery store manager and they haven't received any toilet paper in a couple of weeks because their warehouse is out.

  20. I heard a lot of this on Social Media. That we are running out of toilet papers. I don't really get it why they need to hoard all the toilet papers.

  21. I love this article, one of the first things which was totally sold out in Poland was toilet paper.I wonder whether we go to the toilet more often now ...?

  22. The toilet paper situation has gotten ridiculous! We all need to think before buying, so there’s enough for everyone.

  23. I don't understand the fascination with hoarding toilet paper. Tissues I'd get, not toilet paper.

  24. seriously! Before all this started I ordered a big pack on amazon - took a while to come but I am set!

  25. My friend and I had to drive to another town to find them because we were pretty sure all the stores in our area were sold out. Though I have appreciated seeing the "toilet paper themed merchandise" that people have created, definitely helped add to the fun.

  26. oh yes! I don't know what it's happening to people! Why the toilet paper?!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Its pretty crazy that this is the one think that is missing everywhere. I dont get it!!! I have about 5 rolls left then I'll have to venture out and hopefully find some!

  28. I agree. Why? Toilet paper of all things. I just wrote a post on DIY wipes and a toilet paper alternative because so many people are out.

  29. I totally understand that people need a toiled paper but hoarding it is not understandable. I am glad that right now all supermarkets are only allowing to buy 1 pack of toilet paper per household.

  30. I honestly cannot understand either. It took me almost two weeks to find a pack of toilet paper. I can't believe people sometimes.

  31. I've never got this. Heck most of us are going to be eating less and using less anyways. And you can always wash you bum in the bath tub if need be. Refusing returns??? Who would attempt to return toilet paper.

  32. Babushka actually got the last package in her local store. Sometimes the small blessings turn out to be big don't they?

  33. Someday a psychologist will explain why people went loco for toilet paper. We had just done a normal Costco shop before people went crazy so we're good for a month or so. I hear our Costco has it in stock so I'm not stressed about TP.

  34. There are lots of toilet papers in here. Alcohol is always sold out here. Same scenario, we need to line up really early to buy one.

  35. Thank goodness people haven't been so bad at hoarding, although flour and yeast are very difficult to come by. I don't understand why people are hoarding toilet paper though.
