Easter is coming!
It might be a little different this year, but thankfully I shop early so I had a lot of stuff set aside. Others are available via Instacart or Target Pick Up.
My kids are older, but they still like receiving Easter baskets and honestly, I still like giving them. Since they are older, it can be trickier finding items to put in the basket, but I've found some things that I know they'll enjoy.
For a teen boy, well, it's rather simple: they like to eat, so stuff the basket with food. I know some people are anti-candy, but we are not. It's Easter. It's time for candy in my eyes. (Also, I'm intrigued by the Froot Loop sweets. I'll have to sneak a bite.)
I also suggest gift cards! My son plays Xbox so I got him this:
Also, as you see above, I got him a Mario plush toy because he loves Mario stuff!
So basically: teen boys like food! If all you do is fill it with food and cash, they'll be happy.
Next up is for a Teen Girl.
Teen Girls are all about makeup and fashion. Well, some are. I wasn't. I was into books and learning about the Titanic. But my daughter is all about makeup and fashion and many of her friends are too.
This is why I picked up some makeup items.
Teen Girls can also be self-conscious about acne, so I included this:
And yes, she also got candy and chocolate. Plus gum. Gum is always popular for middle school kids:
Again, if all you have is cash and candy, teen girls will be pleased with that as well!
So do your kids still get baskets? Or if you don't have kids, do you get baskets from your parents?

ReplyDeleteI have a passion for all who are boxes and baskets and I must say that this contains the best ideas especially if it is aimed at boys and not children.
Really good ideas! Keeping it simple but effective. I hope you have a beautiful Easter with your family!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea. So no, we can't go out and do stuff like this right now, but I forgot that you can do Instacart and Target pick up for such things. For some reason I thought it was just for essentials. Great reminder. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThese are all great suggestions! Thankfully, I was able to do in-store pickup for our basket candy, then bought a digital Starbucks gift card for my teen daughter that I'll tuck in there with the candy. Cash is definitely always welcome too if you can't get out to the stores. I've never met a teen who didn't get excited for a cash money gift!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the Easter basket filled with items that are useful rather than lots of sweet treats that are unhealthy . Gift cards are always well received as is cash.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to think of the Easter baskets. I think I need to start getting creative with this as I am not shopping

ReplyDeleteKids today are so lucky! We only got chocolate eggs and jelly beans. Jelly Belly were the best!!
ReplyDeleteGreat choices! I agree, while I don't think the baskets should be ALL candy, this is the time for candy lol After all, Easter is when some of the best candy comes out - mini eggs, cream eggs, chocolate bunnies, etc. That's got to mean something, right?
ReplyDeleteThese are all such great ideas! I have a boy and a girl, so perfect, I am doing last minute shopping today!!

ReplyDeleteMy younger brother would love an XBOX card. Good idea!

ReplyDeleteFor me Easter is spending time with family and friends and having great meals together. I think it is unfortunate that marketers around the world have turned it into another materialistic day just to get people to buy things.
