Yoga.
It seems everyone around me loves to do it.
Some have even asked me to join them.
I always decline and say I'll stick to just wearing the yoga pants and pass on the actual yoga.
Why?
Let me share the reasons.
1. I would laugh seeing everyone fold or bend in different directions. Butts waving in the air is hilarious to me. Feet dangling in the air is hilarious to me. I'm told I have the humor of a 12 year old boy. I can't help it.
2. If someone farted while in a hilarious position, I'd die laughing. I'd disrupt the class and the instructor would ask me to remove myself. Farts are funny. I don't understand people who don't react when someone farts. Again. I have the humor of a 12 year old boy. Maybe an 8 year old.
3. I am not flexible enough. I'd fall over. I'd probably make the person next to me fall over. The entire CLASS could fall over. Oops. Also, I find as I age, my bones make crackling noises more often like a bowl of Rice Krispies, and I don't want to alarm the class.
4. If the instructor asks everyone to find their inner tranquility or starts with the "ohhmmm" chanting, this would make me explode with laughter. The only time I find my inner tranquility is when I'm devouring chocolate. Or a giant piece of cake.
So no, I could never do Yoga and it probably is best that I never join a class.
It's just not my thing.
Is it your thing? (Ohmmmmmmm)
I never do the meditation part because once I actually fell asleep.
ReplyDeleteI feel this on a deep level. I tried yoga once. Between my lack of flexibility and severe lack of coordination, it was not an experience I'm anxious to try again. LOL
ReplyDeleteSo I love yoga but only yin yoga. It is really helpful with flexibility and has been a game changer for me.
ReplyDeleteI love yoga, but pilates is so much better. LOL!
ReplyDeleteAhahhha omg overt reason I was thinking “yep” “same” we must have the same sense of humour
ReplyDeleteIt's not my favorite exercise, but the stretches do feel really nice! I don't do it super often, but I always mean to.
ReplyDelete"The entire class would fall over." haha! This whole post made me laugh, maybe because I too am inept when it comes to yoga. I did some solo online yoga videos during the shut down and that's about was much as it gets for me.
ReplyDeleteHaha this is so funny I would love to do yoga but I think I would end up laughing also.
ReplyDeleteI love all the reasons why you don't do yoga! lol I do yoga even if all my joints are creaky! Hahaha
ReplyDeleteI'm not flexible too but I've been wanting to try it and I finally got to start a few days ago and I'm loving it. -LYNNDEE
ReplyDeleteYOU AND I ARE THE SAME PERSON. I think yoga is a joke. Literally. A joke. I cannot stop laughing at it! hahahha! I have been kicked out of yoga classes before!
ReplyDeleteI would say that you don't have to be flexible to do yoga. I am so not flexible from all of my running but yoga helps my body to stretch out. Sometimes I cannot do half of the things the instructor does but it feels good to try
ReplyDeleteI too feel this way with yoga. It to is way to slow for me.
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not my thing too. I would laugh too. But I love silence and I love to meditate.
ReplyDeletedying!!! You're hilarious!!! How about you just meditate instead lol...
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny! I love yoga, though. It keeps me stress-free.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. I couldn't do yoga as well, I'm not flexible enough and I'd definitely keep laughing all the time disrupting the classes. :)
ReplyDeleteI have tried it several times and I am not great at balance, but I do enjoy the stretching part of it
ReplyDeleteI have tried yoga before a couple of times and have enjoyed it. Don't have a place near me and I don't want to commute too far to do any fitness activity.
ReplyDeleteI have always wants to get into yoga. However, truth be told, these are some of the reasons that I fully can't get into it. ~lol~
ReplyDeleteFair enough. I always find myself in hysterics when farts occur during stretches!
ReplyDeleteI can honestly agree with a few of these lol and my two main reasons for not doing yoge would be lack of ambition and no balance. Kelli A
ReplyDeleteYou're funny, thanks for the laugh! I've been doing yoga for a while and now I can't do it with others, thanks to your hilarious post lol
ReplyDeleteI really relate to this. I can do rudimentary yoga, but just barely. I have zero balance or coordination.
ReplyDeleteHaha, that's pretty funny! I do like yoga a lot and actually need to get back into it!
ReplyDeleteThat's also me hahaha. Yoga is not me for me too because of those same reasons. But I love the pants.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's kinda hard. I tried doing yoga by watching videos on Youtube, it's not for me either.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you the moves are quite hard and I am not that flexible and I’m a curvy girl at that. I guess some people have it in them! Who knows haha
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny! I laughed at all the reasons you gave. I guess I would also die laughing if someone farted while holding a funny pose.
ReplyDeleteWe think a lot alike lol. I’m not super flexible and have a hard time keeping a straight face in any yoga class, so I tend to do other classes instead.
ReplyDelete#2 is literally why I can not do yoga in public spaces either, LOL! Only at home!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand that Yoga is not for everyone. Personally, I don't do yoga because I just don't feel the need to, I also prefer faster body movements. Something less calming and slow.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, this is such a funny post! I must admit though that I'm also like this the first time I saw somebody doing yoga and especially when I tried it myself haha.
ReplyDeleteI did yoga here at home for a few days following an online video. It was interesting although my body felt so stiff. :) -LYNNDEE
ReplyDeleteI would love to try Yoga. But my body is too stiff for this exercise lol

ReplyDeleteI have something special for you today because we all enjoy watching movies. As an obsessive movie poster collector, I was recently drawn to a collection of antique vintage movie posters. These historic works of art have vintage movie posters for sale given my basic movie theater a new lease on life since they so brilliantly capture the essence of cinematic history in a way that no modern recreation can ever match.
