My husband is deployed, and I like to send him packages. If he asks for something specific, I make sure to include that. But sometimes he's all, "Just surprise me!" So here's what I normally send in boxes like that. If he requests something specific, I make sure to send that, but otherwise I try to make the boxes as exciting as I can.
Here's what I recently sent:
A funny t-shirt! My husband likes Rick & Morty. I found this on Amazon:
I saw this at Walmart and thought of him:
The dollar spot at Target always has fun stuff to include in a box. My husband has always loved Ariel, so I found this duck for $1:
I always find some sort of snack to include:
You can never go wrong with Girl Scout cookies:
Check out these The Rock sanitizing wipes. They amused me:
Finally, I figured he might want to try out this Cheetos Mac and Cheese, which is actually delicious:
I found these Pringles and figured Tom might enjoy them. I don't think he plays Halo much, but still:
Basically I include a bunch of fun items that I spot in stores. I always hope they put a smile on his face. Also included are sometimes drawings from the kids. They always miss him when he's away and look forward to when he returns.
It must be hard when he is away and it is so nice of you to send him love from home. Here is hoping he is safe and the trip goes fast.
ReplyDeleteWhen my brother was deployed, I loved sending him boxes. Our church would also send boxes to several. Anything that doesn't melt is always a great food item to send. God bless your husband and your family. The family serves along with them.
ReplyDeleteSending boxes is a lovely idea and reminds loved ones that they have loved ones waiting for them at home. The cookies must be yummy!!!
ReplyDeleteI love how personalized everything was. I think that finding things that will bring a smile to his face is the way to go!
ReplyDeleteThis is fab! I never know what to send, even though my husband tells me everytime "don't send anything!" because it'll most likely get crushed oooooooooor never arrive. I will say, the random box of unique snacks were a hit with his whole flight!
ReplyDeleteSuch great ideas to send in a care package! Treats from home are the best!
ReplyDeleteThe Rock sanitizing wipes is a great idea. Hehe. It's like sending TLC to your man from afar.
ReplyDeleteI love all the ideas you put in your care package, it must be hard being without your husband for so long. Thank you both for your sacrifices.
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet, I'll have you know the ariel duck is so freaking cute ahhaah I need it
ReplyDeleteIt seems that gifts that are good for deployed military personnel would also be good for peole who travel for work.
ReplyDeleteI love this! Such a variety I never would have thought of.
ReplyDeleteThese are such great suggestions. I did not know what I should put in a box. You have found some great items here!
