Maple Street Biscuit Company At Alamo Ranch Review

Ah, biscuits.

I love them. 

So when I heard there was a place called Maple Street Biscuit Company that opened nearby, I knew I wanted to go. I mean. Biscuits!

There's also fresh squeezed orange juice. I didn't get this because I needed Diet Coke, but if you're into fresh juice, it's there.

Here's the story of Maple Street Biscuits. Pretty cool, huh? 

The space that it's in is pretty small. But there is outdoor seating. Also, there are no waiters. You order up front and then you're asked what name you wished you had been called. I picked Elizabeth. So when our food was ready, they called Elizabeth. I heard some amusing names being called out. Like I swear there was a Doofus. So you can have fun with it. But I was caught off guard and had no caffeine so I went with Elizabeth, which is a name I always loved. Next time I might be funny and say something like Darth Vader.

My mom and daughter got the kids meal because it sounded like the perfect amount for them. They got eggs, plus a biscuit and fresh made jelly. That jelly is GOOD. You can buy the jelly as well and I might have to do this next time because YUM.

I knew I wanted more food so I got the Five & Dime which was chicken, sausage gravy, a fried egg, plus a biscuit of course. 

Was it good? Yes! The biscuits were flavorful. Sometimes you go to places and the biscuits have NO flavor. This is NOT the case here. The chicken was well cooked and the gravy? Yes please. There is a lot of pepper so if pepper isn't your thing, you might want to go for the shiitake mushroom gravy. But I was a huge fan of the sausage gravy and would certainly get it again. 

We also got the iced cinnamon biscuits. They were also flaky and fresh. They are only available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday though so if you go during the week, you're out of luck.

When you're done eating, you clean up after yourself. There are stations to drop off your plates and silverware. It doesn't bother me at all but if you're some person who doesn't want to clean up after yourself, this isn't the spot for you.

Will we be back? Yes! I need more of those biscuits. And gravy.
