Doughnuts. I love them. I don't really have a fave doughnut place as they all seem to be delicious. The Mom & Pop spots tend to be the best though.
Voodoo Doughnuts just opened not too far from us. We have been to a Voodoo Doughnuts before. A few years ago we went to the one at Universal Studios. The doughnuts were tasty enough so when I heard there was one downtown, I knew we had to stop in. It's located right down the street from the Majestic Theater, so after a show you can just walk down and get a treat!
Mind you, there will probably be a line so bring your patience.
I noticed everything was pink, which I liked. Reminded me of The Barbie Movie (which we are SO going to see!)
There's lots of cool stuff to see:
Natalie matched with the inside:
We loved the chandelier:
Obviously there are doughnuts, but they also have drinks. You can also get merch:
There are TONS of doughnuts to purchase. I didn't even know which ones to get. In the end, we got The Homer, Portland Cream (my fave), Grape Ape (sounds weird, but my son loved it) and the Voodoo Doughnut.
They have a turning display case so you can see what the doughnuts look like up close. And yes, there are vegan ones!
I probably would NOT get the Voodoo Doughnut again. It didn't have enough filling and tasted kind of dry. I imagine they make a ton of them since they are probably one of their most popular picks. It looks neat though!
We will be back because there are other doughnuts I want to try.
You can go here to see if you have a Voodoo Doughnuts near you!
Have you ever been to Voodoo Doughnuts?
First of all its pink! Secondly, I don't know if I could ever just choose a couple of those yummy donuts. Thirdly, your daughter is just beautiful and last, its all pink!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool place! So many flavors to choose from; not even sure what I would choose! I don't think I've ever seen a grape donut before!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great place to visit. I'm a biggggg donut fan so I know I would be standing in line...lol What a name though, and a grape ape donut...whoa!
ReplyDeleteI need to go here as they have vegan donuts! Now if they only had gluten-free too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your experience trying Voodoo Doughnuts in downtown San Antonio! I've never been there before but your post makes me want to check it out. The different flavors you described sound amazing and it's great to know they have vegan options too.
ReplyDeleteThose donuts look amazing! I have never been to this place before. I definitely need to see if there is one close to me. I'd love to check them out.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of them, but we don't have one anywhere near us. Actually I think the closest would probably be the one is San Antonio.
ReplyDeleteI used to visit my father who was in the Navy and stationed in San Antonio every summer when I was a teenager. It is a lovely place for sure and I so want to try these delicious looking donuts!

ReplyDeleteWe have a VooDoo Doughnuts in Fort Worth. I have not been yet to try them. I tried another brand similar to them and wasn’t impressed for the price. They were dry. It was called Hurts Doughnuts. I’d much rather go to a local shop over by my house. She does some fancy stuff too but not like these.
ReplyDeleteIt appears they closed the one in Fort Worth. But they do have one in Dallas.
DeleteThe Homer and Portland Cream seem like winners, while the Voodoo Doughnut itself doesn't sound quite as appealing despite the cool look. Maybe I will try the vegan variant if I have the chance to visit this donut outlet.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time hearing about Voodoo Donuts! It's such pretty place and the donuts look delicious!!
