In early June, we're headed to Los Angeles!
I was there years ago. I'm talking years and years ago. I was under 10, so I barely remember it. My kids have never been.
Normally we always head to Walt Disney World in the summer. This time, we wanted a change so we decided to visit Disneyland.
We're also headed next door to California Adventure, which is kind of like Hollywood Studios in Florida. In California, the parks are right next to each other, so it makes it convenient. We'll be making a stop at Downtown Disney as well.
I purchased tickets to the nighttime show Wonder Of Color Dessert Party, so that'll be fun. We love desserts, and we get to sit after a long day of walking since we have reserved seating.
We're spending 3 days at the parks. We have another day where we'll be exploring Los Angeles and we're trying to cram in as much as we can.
First up is the Warner Bros Studio Tour in Burbank. So many shows & movies have been filmed on the lot. Our absolute favorite is Gilmore Girls. We cannot wait to see where the show was shot. You can actually walk around Stars Hollow. Friends was also filmed there! With the Studio Tour, we get to ride on a trolley and be shown around different spots where famous scenes were filmed.
After that, there's a cemetery called Forest Lawn right across the street where Matthew Perry who played Chandler on Friends is buried, so we'd like to pay our respects.
In that same area there's a restaurant called Smokehouse that was built in 1946. Old Hollywood stars would visit often, and movies & shows filmed inside. Most notably, La La Land, which Natalie is obsessed with. We'll have a meal there and take a Lyft to Griffith Park Observatory which is free and is another popular filming spot. (Yup, again La La Land also had scenes shot there.)
If we have time, we'll do Hollywood Blvd because Natalie wants to see Marilyn Monroe's star and signature in the cement.
It'll be a full trip, that's for sure, and we cannot wait. Naturally I will be sharing all about it here and my social media accounts.
Have you ever been to Los Angeles?
I've not had a chance to visit Los Angeles yet but it's somewhere I'd love to visit. California Adventure sounds like fun and well placed. It's somewhere I'd enjoy with the kids.

ReplyDeleteI grew up in LA and the only advice I have is bring lots of patience for crowds and it is most definitely not as clean as the movies show it. Disneyland is a blast, but feels incredibly tiny since I went to Disney World lol. Have fun!
