If you've never been to The Melting Pot, you must.
There's CHEESE.
And CHOCOLATE.
It's fondue. Hence why it's called "A Fondue Restaurant."
I recently went with my Mom.
It is set up like a fancier space, but you don't have to dress up. I've seen people in jeans and t-shirts. I always like to dress a little nicer but it's certainly not a requirement.
And you don't have to make reservations, but I would to be on the safe side. It can fill up because everyone loves fondue.
We usually like to do the cheese, meat, and chocolate fondue but you don't have to do all 3. Some people go in for just the cheese. Others for the chocolate. If you're on a budget, I'd do that option.
There are coupons and deals that go on certain days so be sure to sign up for their mailing list.
And yes, there's a large cocktail and alcohol list. I tried this Tropic Haven Punch which was coconut rum, sour mix, pineapple juice, passion fruit puree, blue curacao, and red bull. It comes smoking with dry ice, which was neat.
I rarely drink, but once in a while I like to order a fun cocktail and this was a tasty one I like my drinks to NOT taste like alcohol, and this was just that:
But back to the main event.
The fondue.
There are different cheese fondue styles. I believe this was the Wisconsin Trio and it's magnificent:
You get breads and fruits and veggies to dip in it. If you run out, you can get more.
Behold:
After that, we got salads and then the meat and seafood portion arrived. You pick your cooking style--there are several--we go for the coq au vin one.
There are different meat/seafood combos, with some veggies as well.
Plus they bring out dipping sauces.
I especially love this garlic & wine seasoning, and yes, you can purchase your own if you wish:
You get all sorts of things to dip in it: fruits, Belgian waffles, marshmallows, brownies, cake...
I drool just thinking about it.
The Melting Pot generally opens at 4, so the next time you're looking for a unique date, check them out.
You will not be disappointed.
