Should You Stay At Port Orleans French Quarter?

We're back!

We were in Walt Disney World and as always, it was a fantastic time.

We did stay on property to take advantage of the transportation to the parks. We decided on Port Orleans French Quarter, which is a moderate resort. We have stayed here several times before and love it. It has that exciting New Orleans vibes and is Princess and the Frog themed.

Here is why.

1. The beds are comfy. And it's cool that they are raised so you can place your suitcase underneath to stay out of the way. We found there is plenty of space in the standard rooms. Plus, check out that theming. These rooms can actually sleep 5 as there is a small pull out couch.

2. There are boats that take you to Port Orleans Riverside, which is the biggest resort nearby. You'll find the Princess rooms and different vibes over there. We have stayed at Riverside before, and it's gorgeous. The boats also take you to Disney Springs, which is a huge plus.

3. There's a cool pool area. You'll get a dragon slide and these guys leading up to it.

4. The food court has delicious options like gumbo, shrimp & grits, and jambalaya. We tried the gumbo and yum, fantastic flavors. It's made fresh so you're not getting frozen slop. The shrimp & grits were also fantastic.

5. The resort is small and cozy. You'll never walk far if you stay at Port Orleans French Quarter. All the buildings are close to the food court and buses.

6. The lobby is gorgeous! You'll hear New Orleans jazz in the background and it smells incredible. The ambiance is fantastic if you want to sit & relax and take it all in.

7. The colors around the resort are Instagram friendly. Need videos? TikTok content? You'll get it all at Port Orleans French Quarter.

8. Mickey beignets! People come from other resorts to get these and I understand why. They are made fresh and are fluffy and scrumptious. We ate SO many of these! You'll find them next to the Sassagoula Food Court in the Scat Cat Cafe. Oh, and on select nights, there's a Scat Cat Lounge where you can listen to jazz bands while munching on Mickey beignets (or cocktails.) (But we went for the Mickey beignets.)

We always have a wonderful time at Port Orleans French Quarter. Everyone is polite and we love how small the resort is. Yes, you can get a military discount on select rooms, which is an added bonus.
