Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. I think I’m going to do this every Tuesday now. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your diary. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either.

Hey, It's Okay....

To cringe when grown adults speak in a baby voice to each other.

To not understand the rules of golf (I want to learn. Someday. I thought the rule was just to get the ball in the hole (teehee enter dirty joke here) but apparently it’s much more than that.)

To wonder why people don’t wear their seatbelts.

To say to your kids when they are whining about having such a tough life, “At least you haven’t been stuck in a mine for over a month like those men in Chile!”

To hope that nothing else breaks in the house (my computer tried to over the weekend.)

To hate how everything seems to be 3D these days. I don’t need everything up in my face, thanks.

To be excited for Survivor to start again this week.

To also be excited for premiere week the following week! Hello Grey’s Anatomy, The Middle, Modern Family, Cougar Town... (And tonight Parenthood starts!)

To wonder why parents allow their preschoolers to sit up front in the car with them. Isn’t that, I don’t know, dangerous?

To be excited for the new Nicholas Sparks book to come out today (I pre-ordered on Amazon.com!)

  3. SOO excited for Grey's Anatomy!!!!!! And I dislike 3D movies so much. Not only do they give me a headache, but I don't want to pay $4 more for it!!!

  8. I can't wait for Fall TV! Is Parenthood REALLY on tonight? I think there is a mix up and it's starting next week with all the other premieres.

  9. To wonder why people don’t wear their seatbelts.

This - I never understood why people thought it was OK to cruise around without one.

  10. I'm with you on the preschoolers thing! Isn't that also kinda illegal? It's nice to know there are so many out there who really "care" for their kids!
I'm also with you on the 3D. My 115 pound dog, 2 cats, and 2 toddlers are in my face enough, I don't want everything else there, I don't care how entertaining it is! LOL!

  11. I can't wait for the new TV season! I have a neighbor who lets her 7 year old in the front seat! SCARY! Happy Tuesday

  12. I hate that they charge $11 for that 3D movie and often you have no choice but to see it that way. I have a friend that's a famous actor, he's in a western movie that'll be coming out some time next year. Producers wanted it shot in 3D. Are you crazy? It's an old time WESTERN. Needless to say it wasn't shot that way, good for the movie, even better for my wallet. -J

  15. awesome post! I also don't think every thing has to be in 3D!! It hurts my eyes! www.thehealthyapron.com

  16. As the wife of a paramedic, it amazes me how many people still don't wear seatbelts. He was on 2 rollovers this weekend, and the only reason people lived was because of seatbelts.

    It's one of my soapboaxes!

  17. Really looking forward to Grey's Anatomy!

Totally agreed on the baby talk. My husband thinks I'm an idiot for talking that way to the baby, much less to him! And well, he just doesn't have the knack for baby talk. He's tried it, but its cringe-worthy!

  18. Not only is a toddler in the front seat DANGEROUS!!!! In Minnesota it is illeagal.

This law requires a child who is both under age 8 and shorter than 4 feet 9 inches to be fastened in a child safety seat or booster seat! Under this law, a child cannot use a seat belt alone until they are age 8 or 4 feet 9 inches tall — whichever comes first.

  19. Freakin parenthood! I could just die I am so excited!

    and modern family? YES, PLEASE!!!

I am going to use the mine thing on my kids.. although they'll be too young to understand it!

and lastly. I hate when ANYONE talks in baby talk.... EVEN to babies. yuck!

  20. Sometimes living in a mine in Chile would be a break...

It would be a way to get away from the "baby talkers".

  21. funny, just yesterday I had to drive 20 minutes to get to a non-3d version of despicable me (I have about 8 theatres within 10 minutes of my house so driving far is a big deal for a movie).

    here's mine - http://parentplanet.wordpress.com/2010/09/14/hey-its-ok-6/

  23. YAY SURVIVOR!!

Twitch and I went to see a movie on the weekend (not 3D), and I was also disturbed by all the previews of 3D movies. Can we say OVERKILL?!

  24. I love this feature you do, no really, I do.

And I agree with all of your "it's okays".

My husband is all gaga over the new shows starting, but I have run out of steam lately for watching them. WHAT is wrong with me?

  25. I am SO excited for my shows to be coming back!!

Adults speaking in baby voices is CREEPY!!

And, no seatbelts...and kids in the front. Totally don't get it.

  30. I totally agree about the 3D thing. Why do I want to see everything in 3D? It's not that big of a deal.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I agree with the 3D thing too. Why not give us all a chance to be 2D instead. I'd look a lot better.

  32. I'm so excited for Parenthood tonight! Love that show! I'm really sad that Big Brother is over tomorrow though (I know, I'm pathetic).

Yes, preschoolers in the front seat? SO Dangerous!

  36. There's someone else that hates all this 3D crap! It's really starting to get on my nerves too.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hey...its Okay...to crawl back in bed and pretend I'm sick.

    Right?

WTF is up with the front seat thing? Really?! Might as well just let them crawl up in the back windwo and lay down, slam on the breaks and see how far they roll....sounds like fun to me! <---yes that was sarcasm just incase anyone was planning to stone me

    ReplyDelete
  38. 3D scares me, but, so does pretty much everything else too.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Amen to the kids in the front seat-- what part of DANGER don't the parents get?

I sure hope Modern Family keeps up its quality! We totally loved that show last year!

I was gone for a week and I sure missed reading your blog!

  40. The kids sitting in the front seat drive me almost as crzy as the parents that let their children bounce all over the car, while they drive with their seatbealts on.

But I am also very ready for Survivor, my husband even informed our son that on Wednesdays from 8-9 he no longer has a mother, because I will be stuck ;)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I love these - and agree with every single one. That's okay, isn't it? :-)

  42. Can't wait for new TV either!!

  44. I know the rules of golf...but I don't play. I drive the cart and make fun of how bad my hubby sucks :o)

3D is so overrated, and I'm totally over it, which is why the hubby goes by himself...I don't think it's worth the extra money (and I'm too cheap!)

People not wearing seatbelts are just verifying natural selection...same with smokers and alcoholics!
