Birth Control

And to think, all this happened because I told her she couldn’t watch another episode of Yo Gabba Gabba. I had to, for my sanity. There is only so much DJ Lance a person can take.

  1. Excellent. This will save me a lot of money this month.

  2. I don't know how these shows are like crack to kids. They are ANNOYING TV addicts!!

  3. Oh and I thought it only happened in my house! I don't get Yo Gabba Gabba. Either you have to be a toddler or high to get past the strangeness of it all. We're a Max & Ruby house -- although I plot the death of Ruby on a daily basis.

  4. Oh so true. I can't stand Yo Gabba Gabba but my son loves it. The only reason I give in and let him watch it is because it has some good lessons .... like not biting your friends. ;-)

  5. I have yet to catch Yo Gabba Gabba on TV. I don't even know what they look like!

Natalie is one of those lucky ones. She can weep with all her might and still be adorable!

  6. At least it's not Teletubbies, am I right?

  7. Oh dear, she does look miserable. I know that face! I make it when my hubby interferes with my reading time :-)

  8. How can someone so distraught still look so adorable?

  9. Now that little girl takes that show seriously. ;)

  10. Just waits til she start watching iCarly!

  11. =( Here I was thinking something SERIOUS was going on...I'm sure she LOVED that you were taking pictures of her all the while lol

  12. Oh, the drama in that first picture . . .

    ReplyDelete
  13. I get much the same reaction when I turn the TV off here.

  14. Look at that face.

    You're suck a big meanie.

    HA!

  15. You crack me up. I'm sure she was thrilled that you documented her behavior on your blog! Ha ha!

  16. Did she get the drama from her Mama? I just have to ask!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I dont know. I'd rather listen to Yo Gabba Gabba than a kid screaming. lol

  18. When the do the production of "Gone With the Wind" in preschool, she's a shoo-in for Scarlett.

  19. A to the MEN!

But she really is quite adorable, even in the throws of her tantrum. Furthermore, I love that you're taking pics of her, during the tantrum, all for the blog. SO something I would do. "What? You're laying in a puddle of tears and are physically hurt? Hang on, just gotta snap a pic for the blog." It's a problem I have. hehe

Oh, and I agree, Yo Gabba Gabba is wacky to say the least. I use the opportunity to go do something in another room, whilst they're entranced by DJ Lance and the gang.

  20. If you start now - you can wheen her off TV altogether...

...and this would give her a reason to sit on the toilet for as long as it takes (reading a book if you are lucky) to get things done!

  21. Oh man! Look at that face!!
I love the hand on her chest in total despair...poor thing.

I'd love to tell you those tantrums over TV stop in time, but the 7YO and the 37YO are masters at throwing themselves on the floor to have to stop TV to ~gasp~ EAT dinner. Jeesh.

  22. That face is just so sad! But I don't blame you. I can not stand yo gabba gabba!

  23. Clearly you just about killed her by not letting her watch it (as evidenced by the pictures). But she is pretty frickin cute and probably hard to resist. Good for you sticking to the No Yo Gabba Gabba stance! :)

  24. I am so glad my kids are past Yo Gabba. And, that I have boys. But if it makes you feel better, it's not exclusive to girls. last summer, my son screamed at the top of his lungs (so the whole neighborhood could hear) "Murderer!"

When I could hold in the snicker I asked "What exactly did I kill?"

"My Dreams!" he shouts back, and then storms off into his room.

Oh, the joy never ends. -J

  25. Under the table must be her safe place for tantrums. Thanks for the birth control lol

  26. Oh my gosh. I know the feeling about Yo Gabba Gabba. It's the first thing my kid asks for when she wakes up.. seriously, she must dream about it..

  27. She is so cute even when screaming!!

  28. Perfect! That does look like an excellent dose of birth control!!! =)

  29. I had the same experiance earlier today because i wouldne let my little one wear glue from his sisters gluestick like it was chapstick

  30. A mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do!

  31. Natalie is cute, even when she cries!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Haha you totally just ruined life as she knows it. My nephew had on a similar face on his way to naptime this afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  33. These will be great to show around when she is 13.

    ReplyDelete
  34. haha!! Oh how sad! I love the first picture, it's like you have broken her heart!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh my goodness!!! :) Poor thing looks like it is the end of her world!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I love that instead of freaking at her you grabbed the camera. We were staying at my ex in-laws one time and my kids were fighting over who would be first... somehow they both ended up crying on the toilet together with pee on the floor... I took their picture before I made them help me clean up! I will haunt them with it forever! :) Way to go Mama!

  37. I can't believe you captured her in mid-tantrum like that! You rock!

  38. She's gorgeous! I have two year old twins and they are addicted to Little Princess. YGG was big on the hit list for a while but it's been replaced. I just look on the bright side - one day they will feel that passionate about something worth while.

Just have to say how much I'm loving your blog

  39. In the middle picture, it looks like you napalmed her village or something. And tell me, this was one of those "now that I put my foot down I have to stick to my guns even though, for the love of God, I should have just let her do what she wanted in the first place" sucky mom-moments? And yeah, I agree that: she's gorgeous even when she looks like she's in a TV movie about a happily adopted baby being returned to her birth parents against her will, I say No Gabba Gabba too, and Max is OK in my book, but Ruby is a pill.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm hotlining you NOW to the Child Welfare People. Or DFS, or whatever... Some outrage, denying her another episode of YGG. Really-- and you call yourself a mother... Sheesh!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I love that you take pictures of her in the depths of her trauma. You're keeping them as a warning to future potential baby daddies, right?

    ReplyDelete
  42. That looks like an award winning performance for sure!

However, it is a tragedy when Yo Gabba Gabba leaves the screen. Ha!

Clearly my brains have been scrambled!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Funny I cry when Yo Gabba Gabba comes on TV

    ReplyDelete
  44. oh my!!
i think this is why i love my cat so much!!.. lol

    ReplyDelete
  45. We told my 8 year old that DJ Lance was her real father one day... she had a similar reaction LOL

    ReplyDelete
  46. I used to have sudden flip out/my brain is gonna snap/turn off the tv right away/moments when my kids watched that over & over too!
and Is it just me, or does DJ Lance look like Obama?
AND I agree with the other Post about Max & Ruby....Where are their parents??? Grandma bunny just stops by every now and then, WTF?? that always bothers me for some reason.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh yes, the dramatic child ;) I know the feeling!
