The Pink Apron

Want to see something cute?

Well.

Don’t pay attention to the crying child.

Pay attention to the ultra adorable apron.

No, I didn’t make it. Are you kidding me? If I tried to sew, I’d probably thread my fingers together by accident.

Andrea over at Las Vegas Mama made it.

And Natalie loves it, despite her tears in the photo. I believe she was pissy because I said she couldn’t have cake for dinner. Granted, I understand her disappointment, sometimes I’d love to have cake for dinner.

But anyhow, when Natalie got the apron, she was thrilled.

“A princess!” she bellowed, grabbing it.

She wore the apron as she played house.

She wore the apron as she made silly faces.

She wore the apron as she watched TV.

She stuck a grasshopper in the apron pocket and scared the crap out of her Mommy. No photo, because I was too busy yelping, “Get it out, get it out, get it out.”

She even wanted to wear the apron to bed, but I made her take it off.

Maybe the apron will inspire her to become a fabulous cook! Then she can make these elaborate dishes for me and she’ll be all, “And it was all because Andrea made me an apron when I was three.”

Are you lusting for an apron for your little one now?

If so, head over to Andrea’s blog and enter her giveaway! It’ll run for a week.

And who knows, maybe the apron will inspire your little one to become a famous cook too.

  1. It is so cute even through her sreams! The hubs bought me a sewing machine a few years back for Christmas and I have made a few things on it...it really is fun once you get enough gumption to take it out of the box :O)

  3. your daughter is just adorable =) it's so funny how kids pick up bugs and icky stuff but when they grow up they no longer like the bugs lol
I would have flipped over the grasshopper too

  4. I'm betting the happy pics will always outnumber the not so happy pics when she's wearing the apron.

Tom must love seeing it, too.

  12. Love the photos of Natalie!!! And that apron is so adorable!

Even though my son loves to help me cook, I am pretty sure his daddy would be against me putting him in a girly apron. ;)

  13. Is it bad that I'd like that apron for myself...even though I don't cook? Seriously adorable (as is Natalie).

  16. Love the apron! Too cute but don't think my 9 year old son would enjoy it quite as much as Natalie ;)

Cake for dinner, well, my father fed us ice cream cake for breakfast after family birthdays. He said it had dairy so we were good, although my conduct grades did not say I was good lol

  19. I am wanting one for me, not my kids...

  20. The apron may inspire her to become a baker and make her own cakes to eat whenever and wherever she wants! Hehe!

  21. Still laughing about that first photo!! Thanks! Hilarious and the apron is cute.

  22. Very funny, particularly the grasshopper section. I daren't buy aprons for my little ones. As they are all over 20 now, they may feel I am making comments on their ability to cope away from home.

  23. That is my reaction too, when the hubby tells me I can't have cake or chocolate for dinner/breakfast. A grasshopper as a cooking assistant would have freaked me out also. Your daughter and the apron are adorable!

  24. She looks adorable in the apron even with tears streaming down her face.

I want cake for breakfast, too.

  25. Love the grasshopper story. If she becomes a famous cook do you think she'll have cake every night for dinner? I would...but I guess she'd have to become a baker not a cook...

  26. Very cute, despite the tears! And I agree cake for dinner sounds fabulous.

  27. Maybe if I got a cute little apron it would make ME a fabulous cook??

  28. That is adorable! I would want one if I had a child. And I feel your pain on the grasshopper issue.

  38. It just doesn't matter whether Miss Natalie is a blubberin' blather or a cheerful cutie she is just adorable. Love the pics sweetie!!!

Ya'll have the most beautiful 'fall' day now, ya hear!!!

  39. Awww your daughter is so cute, whether smiling or crying. Hehe. And yeah, I totally understand her tears too. Although when you're older and you actually do eat cake for dinner, tears still come anyway after you realize how many pounds you've gained. Sigh.

I love this apron SO much! I don't have any kids, but if this was in big-people size, I would totally get one. I love pink! ;)

  40. wait- it is cute, but when I won an adult apron? My husband was all, "well, you should cook now." This isn't going to have the same effect on the kids, is it? You know, "Mom, let's cook!"

  41. I don't cook, but I love aprons.

I made one in Home Ec that was seriously pretty awesome. To this day, I don't know how the hell I did it.

  44. 2 questions:
    Cake for dinner is wrong?
And what is this clothing you call... apron, is it? Is it some sort of sundress?

    ReplyDelete
  45. I love the first picture! Priceless.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Maybe she's crying in the first photo because her soufflé fell! Darling apron ... I'd stay in it all day too!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Liked the part where she stuck the grasshopper in the pocket. Ha ha

  48. that apron is adorable. I bought G a cape thinking he would love it and I would love him in it and he refuses to wear it.

  49. Awww! My teenage son is a bit of an aspiring cook, but I'm not sure Andrea makes one to fit him :)

Great photos! Too bad you couldn't get a pic of the grasshopper, too :)
