Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your diary. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either.

----------------------

To think that grown adults who call themselves Divas need to quit doing so. Someone needs to tell them that it’s no longer cute to refer to oneself as a Diva when you are over the age of ten. Sorry.

To really want to see the new Adam Sandler movie Just Go With It. I’ve said this before but it’s still true.

To not be sure if I like the new show Off The Map yet.

To love sweet tea. The Red Diamond sweet tea is delicious.

To have terrible posture. I’ve been told this a lot throughout my life. My bad.

To miss Dunkaroos. They were this snack that came with honey shaped graham thingies and you dipped them in frosting. I imagine they went away because the uppity mothers complained that it wasn’t a fulfilling and healthy snack. Look, they can go off and feed their kids organic carrot sticks, I’ll feed my kids Dunkaroos. If they still made them, that is.

To have thought a lot of what Ricky Gervais said at the Golden Globes was hilarious. (Granted, making fun of appearances is rude..) I didn’t watch, but I saw some snippets online and well, if celebs don’t like to be made of, they shouldn’t do ridiculous things. It’s Ricky Gervais, what did people expect? Want someone calm, get Jennifer Garner to host.

To love shopping at Kohls. I love a deal.

To have been confused as to why Kourtney Kardashian was on the cover of my Parenting magazine. I get she’s a mom but....

To think Carrie from Sex and the City should have ended up with Aidan. Mr. Big was too rich and too magoo.

  1. I am happy Aidan didn't end up w/ Carrie...I think he was too good for her.
also, Ricky Gervais was AWESOME, LOVE him LOL

  2. I agree with Bird Shit. (Did that sentence really come out of my mouth?) Aidan was too good for Carrie. She screwed him over big time.

  3. This is true. Poor Aidan. Remember when he shouted, "YOU BROKE MY HEART!"

  4. I LOVED Dunkaroos and, this is probably sad but over the last year, have had no less than 5 separate conversations about how I wish they'd bring them back.

Not a Mr. Big fan and not really an Aidan fan either. Mr. Big was too swarmy and Aidan was too good for her. I still need to SATC2.

  5. I think the Parenting magazine just wants any celeb that will agree to grace their cover...

  6. OMG I forgot all about Dunkaroos!! I used to love those things!!!

  7. I can't decide about Off The Map either...hmmm I do think that the red headed girl who left but came back the 1st episode was Victoria in the 1st Twilight movie

DUnkaroos?! I forgot about those...thanks for reminding me and making me laugh!

  8. So funny, I just went to Kohls and saved $112 on a $45 purchase. How awesome! I have to clothe my son, so doing it at a discount makes me SO HAPPY!

  9. Wikipedia claims that dunkaroos are still available, e.g. in Canada. You'd have to ask someone to smuggle them for you?

    ReplyDelete
  10. I just hope the new Sandler movie isn't like the last one, Grown Ups, where they show all the funny stuff in the preview.

    ReplyDelete
  11. They still make dunkaroos, or at least in alabama lol. They only sell them at the dollar general. Those things are amazing!!

    ReplyDelete
  12. We can buy dunkaroos at Dollar General out here!!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I love your It's Okay list...

    We can get Dunkaroos, too.

    LOL...at Dollar General!!

It must be a Dollar General thing.

Any Kardashian on any magazine is bit much...especially one on a parenting one. Gah!

  14. I am normally a big, big fan of Gervais, and I thought some of his lines were hilarious. But I think he just went a bit too far. Angelina Jolie isn't exactly known for her stellar sense of humor. Go after people who can take it, or who aren't there. Like gay Scientologists. :)

  15. red diamond sweet is the best ever. i have no idea what ricky gervais said but i'm pretty sure they knew what they were getting into.

    ReplyDelete
  16. So with you on the DIVA thing! Ugghh!
I tried watching Off The Map but it just couldn't keep my attention.

    ReplyDelete
  17. They still make Dunkaroos in Canada!!! Send me your address and I will hook you up with some Dunkaroos!

  18. I don't know about Off the Map either, I just can't decide!

BUT I don't know where all you people live, but they still have Dunkaroos here in Ohio. You have to go to either K*Mart or Dollar General, but they make em :)

  19. I'm still chuckling over Kourtney comment. Bwahahaha. So true...

  20. Came to comment on the Dunkaroos and saw several people beat me to it.

They have them in North Carolina at Dollar General as well. I'd be happy to send you a box. :)

I had this conversation with a friend of mine who was also lamenting the disappearance of Dunkaroos. When I pointed him in the direction of Dollar General (in Kentucky), he thanked me by tagging me in a photo of him holding them up triumphantly on facebook.

    It was pretty awesome.

  21. Man, I had no idea you could find Dunkaroos. I guess Wyoming is just a sucky state, I always look and never find some.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm a southern gal so naturally I love me some sweet tea. Red Diamond is the only one that comes close.
My posture is horrible too. That's why I'm constantly telling my daughters to stand up straight.

  23. Oh Amber, I think we could be such good friends. I think much of the same things from your Tuesday lists!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I've been in a total SatC mood lately. I'm glad you agree about Mr. Big. I hated him throughout the ENTIRE series. Ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Just the word Dunkaroos makes me happy. Now that you've reminded me of them I'll have to look at the local Dollar General.

I thought Ricky Gervais was hysterical. I will admit to cringing a bit at some of what I heard but I think it was more the actors reaction. If there were EVER a person who needs to get a sense of humor it's Angelina Jolie, that girl takes her self way too seriously.

  26. I miss Dunkaroos too!! And I love Kohls.. but the closet one is 2 hours away :(

    ReplyDelete
  27. i think carrie should have ended up with burger. i liked him better than big or aiden.
and agree. women calling themselves divas in public is ridiculous. keep it in the bedroom or ditch it all together! stupid woman.

    ReplyDelete
  28. we still have Dunkaroos here in AL... do i need to send you some?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I was cracking up at Ricky Gervais. Thought he was so funny.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ricky Gervais was hysterical and it had to have been good for ratings.

Big and Carrie deserve each other. I didn't like either one of them in the 1st movie and haven't seen the 2nd.

  31. In fact, he was a BIG ass.

Bwaaahaaaahaaaa!!! I am on FIRE today! Tips can be sent directly to my Paypal account.

  32. What a great concept for making a list. Can't say I disagree with a single thing you said. You're spot on about Ricky Gervais, Kourtney Kardashian and Carrie from Sex in the City. I love the way you write with such wit and intelligence too! Thank you so much for paying a visit on my SITS day!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Kohls does have some amazing deals sometimes. I'm not above shopping there!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I havent seen Dunkaroos in forever...wonder if they still have them here?

Anyone that calls themselves a diva as an adult is really just trying to use code for "Hi Im a bitch!"

    ReplyDelete
  35. I have terrible posture too! Better posture is on my list of resolutions, but one month in and there's no progress. Ah well. At least we have long hair to cover the slouching, haha.

    ReplyDelete
  36. we still have dunkaroos here. And yes my boys love them.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Wow.. for once I lucked out because Dunkaroos are still kicking around here. I buy them as a little treat for myself every now and then. Do you guys still have Golden Grahams cereal where you live? I will trade you if you do.
Also, I have bad posture and think Carrie should've been with Aidan too. Glad I'm not alone on those.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Team Aiden ALLL the way!!!! I am on the fence about Off the Map too... The first episode I watched did not Come close to Grey's or Private Practice...

    ReplyDelete
  39. You can still get dunkaroos on amazon! Gotta love Amazon! Here is a link that'll take you straight to them! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EMOCL2?ie=UTF8&force-full-site=1
Love your blog! Thanks for all the laughs!

  40. Dunkaroo's were awesome! Forgot all about them.

And yes, Carrie should have totally been with Aiden in the end.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I hate that whole diva thing....it gets on my nerves. Here's a tea for you to try....Sweet Leaf...it's awesomely delicious. Adam Sandler movie is usually an uplifting thing to look forward to and Kohl's is just great!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I love the Milo's sweet tea. It is awesome

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ricky was hilarious, although he pissed off a lot of people, no doubt!

    ReplyDelete
  44. What do you mean I can't refer to myself as a diva? I'm 42? Come on, I can totally pull it off...and not appear completely looney-tunes....
And I loved Ricky Gervais too. I think those Hollywood types are too sensitive for their own good.

    ReplyDelete
  45. So, it's totally okay that roughly 90% of your "ok list" made me laugh out loud in the face of my computer and left my dogs and husband wondering "What's HER deal?"

    That's okay, right?

Is it also okay that I am currently eating my weight in Nacho Cheese Doritos?

Or am I just pushing my luck on that one?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Is it ALSO okay that your second commenter started her comment by saying "I agree with bird shit?"

    Ha ha!

I mean, it's okay with me... but, then again, I agree with ALL kinds of poop. It's sort of good for you and such. No need to praise bird poop alone...I'm an equal opportunity appreciator of all types of poo.

    ReplyDelete
  47. PEOPLE, people, people...In my humble Opinion. Yes Carrie got what she deserved. Mr. Big will always be way awesome! Carrie couldn't handle Aiden's life.

    Love to all!

    ReplyDelete
  48. anyone who has seen/heard Ricky Gervais should NOT have been surprised.
and Luzianne sweet tea is sooo good!

  49. I think I like Off the Map now, but I'm not sure. I figure I'll keep watching for a few more epis and decide.

I love sweet tea too. I've never heard of Red Diamond though, I wonder if I can find that here!

Kohl's is my favorite store to shop in :) Love it!
