My Dear Letters

Guess what?

I fly home tomorrow!

This means I can get caught up with Big Brother. My parents refuse to watch such nonsense and Dad even said when a commercial came on for it, "You don't really watch that, do you?" Yes, Dad, sorry. Your daughter likes watching grown adults behave like hooligans.

I don't have much else to write about so I'll do My Dear Letters. These are letters I wish I could send.

---------
Dear Oklahoma,

Stop being so hot. Are you trying to show off? If so, you made your point. 15 days of being over 100 degrees? That's enough.

Signed,
A-Rather-Not-Sweat-All-Over,
Amber

-----------

Dear Toddlers and Tiaras,

You still frighten me. Little girls should not know how to move better than I can.

Signed,
A-Slightly-Traumatized,
Amber

----------

Dear One Day book,

I did not like your ending. Please change into something cheerful.

Signed,
A-Doesn't-Like-Crying-While-Reading,
Amber

PS--Please let the movie be as good as the book.

----------

Dear Hugh Hefner,

I'm glad you're not dead.

Signed,
A-Doesn't-Like-Hoaxes,
Amber

----------

Dear Vaguebookers,

Stop posting things like, "I'm so sad," on your Facebook unless you plan on explaining WHY you are so sad. I'm nosy and want to know what's going on. Don't tease.

Signed,
An-incredibly-nosy,
Amber

----------

Dear Airplane That I'm Flying On Tomorrow,

Please get us to Oklahoma safely. No turbulance. And no annoying people seated around us, ie, the people who like to lean their seats all the way back. Natalie would poke their eyes out if they dared.

Signed,
A-Personal-Space-Applies-On-Planes-Too,
Amber

--------

Dear Melting Pot,

Why do you have to be so good? I pigged out when I ate with my mom there today. But how can I stop myself when the desserts look like this:

Seriously.

If there is a Melting Pot near you, go. If anything, just get the dessert.

Signed,
A-I'd-Be-Happy-If-The-Melting-Pot-Wanted-To-Pay-Me-In-Free-Food-To-Review-Them,
Amber

  2. Even the Melting Pot's SALADS are good, and that says a lot about the place.

  3. Our Melting Pot closed!!! =(
I hate vaguebooking. I also hate when people do nothing but whine on there. I mean we all have bad days but the constant "my life sucks" stuff gets old!
Toddlers & Tiaras scares me too. And I cannot.stop.watching.

  4. I hope your flight home is uneventful and ON TIME! And the Melting Pot? MMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

  5. Have a nice calm fight home!

...and yes, lets hope things cool off a bit!

  6. How come your Mom's Melting Pot stayed open and ours didn't; huh?
I'm so sad. Tiaras etc. scares the beejeebies out of me. Those mothers (and fathers) are insane. How can a 2-yr-old know what career they want? Am I that backward? Safe flight. Come visit when you can -- and, don't whine...

  7. I hope you have a great flight - safe and calm. AND that you can take a nap!

  8. I stayed up late finishing One Day last night. I could NOT believe the ending - I do not like any kind of non happily ever after endings!!

  9. I love Melting Pot! I went last night also and it was so good:)

  10. I find myself wanting to vaguebook whenever I really want to vent about something that I know I'm not supposed to talk about to anyone. However, I always refrain myself because it really is annoying!

And the Melting Pot, yum! We have one about 45 minutes from here but it's over a bridge I never, ever have a reason to take, so we just never think to go there. Thanks for the reminder.

  11. Those facebook statuses drive me crazy!! Just say what you mean, or don't say anything at all!

Every time you post a picture from Melting Pot I say I have to go...those desserts look out of this world!

    Have a safe flight!

  12. Just found out we have a Melting Pot about a half-hour away. Must plan a visit!

  13. Don't like the Melting Pot. How is it going to a restaurant if I have to do all the cooking?
    But the desserts are OK

  14. You missed the rain here in OKC the past two days. It cooled off considerably right after it was done. Of course...it's warm again. Ugh.

    Safe travels home!!!

I still have yet to go to The Melting Pot here....sad.

  17. I have lived near Houston for 8 years now and I always swear I am going to try the melting pot... but havent... knowing my sweet tooth I would only want the desserts..

  18. I think Vaguebooking is the same as fishing for a compliment. It's like people think, "I will only be specific if people prove that they like and care about me and ask me to explain." Issues!

  19. Toddlers & Tiara's is a sick show. Little girls are not supposed to look like sex symbols. Do you know how many child predators watch that show and get off on it? Tons I'm sure. It's just not right. The Mom's need serious help.

  20. Oh, the Melting Pot ... my fave fave fave. :) I tried tweeting about them a lot one day to see if they'd send me a coupon for a free meal ... no dice. ;)

    Vaguebooking? LOVE.IT. You're a genius.

  21. I'd be a stay-puff marshmallow if there was a melting pot near us!

And if the weather here is any indication, it's a good thing you're leaving Oklahoma. I think they're just starting to heat up again.

  22. vaguebooking drives me nuts! I tend to block people like that so I don't have to see their half-assed statuses.

  23. Melting Pot--Yum!
Heat wave in OK & TX--ridiculous
Vaguebookers--totally brings out the worst in my nosiness. i think I might have to write a whole post on this topic.

  24. My friend introduced me to Big Brother last year and now it's my guilty summer pleasure. I <3 it!

  25. I made it home safely, thank you :) No new post tomorrow as I need to unpack and all that fun stuff but a new one will be up Monday!

  26. I wish you a pleasant, stress-free, on time, no delays, no mechanical malfunctions, only happy people onboard allowed plane trip!!

    A girl can dream, right??

    ReplyDelete
  27. Glad to hear you made it in safely. No eye poking required?

  28. I haven't been to the melting pot in ages. But change that.

  29. I have been wanting to try Melting Pot for a while now. It's slightly out of the way but seems well worth it!! :)
    And...hate those posts by vaguebookers!!!

  30. If you think Oklahoma's bad, I live in Texas right now, and my job, where I'm at four days a week, doesn't have AC. :(

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm nosy too, no cryptic Facebook messages please.

  32. Dear Melting Pot,

Why don't we have you in this side of the world?

    Happy weekend! :D

  33. If you think the flight is bad....I got the 12 hour scenic grand tour, all the way from St. Louis...through all of Missouri....all of Oklahoma...and 2 hours into Texas. Not fun. And I'm hating the weather in this area too. It's not even August yet....

    Perpetually Me

PS I hope I left this on the right blog...for some reason, more than one is showing up and it's confusing me.

    ReplyDelete
  34. PS I meant to add that our scenic grand tour means that we drove 12 hours, rather than take a flight. Because it's "so much easier" that way. ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I hate "vaguebookers" too :) (I like that term!) Why even post something? You're wasting my time! :)

I have lived in this town going on 4 years, and have STILL not checked out The Melting Pot... :(

  36. I loved one day up until the ending. It was just too sad!
