Help.
This is a plant in my front yard garden.
No, I did not plant it.
Base housing did. And they expect me to keep everything in said garden alive.
I’m not sure if I should cut it, water it, or sell it.
I’m kidding on the last part. I’m not in an episode of Weeds.
But what is it?
I’m worried if I pull it out that housing will pound on my door demanding to know why I got rid of the rare Baquish plant.
(There’s no such thing as a Baquish plant. I made it up.)
(Then again, there COULD be a Baquish plant. I don’t garden so I wouldn’t know.)
Anyway.
Odds are, housing wouldn’t plant anything expensive so it can’t be rare.
And it looks like a weed.
So, should I pull it up?
Or prune it?
(Isn’t that a funny word? Prune. It’s not just something you eat. It’s something you DO. Haha...okay, maybe I’m just amused with the word.)
(I’ve been drinking too much sweet tea.)

I was going to say the same thing. It totally looks like a weed. Granted, I'm not an experienced gardener, but if you don't like it (check) and it looks like a weed (check) then I would totally pull it out. Plant something nice and easy or put one of those ceremic frogs there. I dunno..But it looks weed-y to me.
ReplyDeleteI'd say definitely a weed. Rip em out. And if it isn't - it should be. That thing is ugly.
ReplyDeleteIt sure looks like a weed to me.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the base could send someone over to "advise" you.
I'm going with weed. I'd jerk that sucker out in a heartbeat!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a weed to me. I like Intense Guys suggestion of seeing if someone from base housing can help identfy it!
ReplyDeleteThose are weeds, go ahead and pull them out. You need to check what zone you're in and find something low maintenance and probably drought-tolerant to plant there. Or you could just leave it and not plant anything.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is a weed. I love seeing beautiful flower gardens. I pretty much kill all plants and flowers, but I love seeing them in others yards.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a weed, but I hear someone will be home in a few days - let him start taking care of the 'gardens'
ReplyDeleteYep, a weed. It looks bad, yank it out!
ReplyDeleteI hate gardening too, so I'm no expert, but it sure does look like a weed to me!
ReplyDeleteWeeds.
ReplyDeleteI'm 99.9% sure that's a weed. Although you're right, it could TOTALLY be a Baquish plant.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm gonna go with weed.
Pull that weed!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's going to bloom soon, and then go to seed. If you hate it, pull it before it has a chance to spread seeds all over the place. BUT, at the base of it, I think I see another plant, with some rounded leaves and small pink flowers. That one is not a weed; it's a wild geranium and makes a great ground cover, no maintenance required.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you ask your neighbors? It might be a fun way of getting to know them.
ReplyDelete(My first guess was peppermint, but on second look the leaves appear to be slightly wrong.)
Weed. But if it's really hard to pull out it was a plant! ;)
ReplyDeleteI vote sell it just because that whole line of your post made me giggle :)
ReplyDeletei do NOT do green plants.. gardens.. flowers.. whatever!! hate it all!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a weed, too! Well that's what I first thought when I saw the picture and started reading your post.
ReplyDeleteI say pull it. (Well, maybe check with someone first.)
I'm going with weed as well.
ReplyDeletePull it up, but do it in the middle of the night so no one sees you and replace it with something pretty.
Pretty sure that is a weed. Rip that baby out!
ReplyDeleteJust rip it out. Get a nice pot with some flowers and put it in the same spot. Then when they die you can throw them out. I have no green thumb so that's about as far as my gardening skills go.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys!
ReplyDeleteI will rip it out this weekend then.
If its wilting in need of water its a keeper it growing no matter what its a weed...yank it!
ReplyDeleteAt my house the kids get upset if I rip weeds out if they have one little blossom on them or even remotely resemble an actual plant that someone would want growing in their yard. Needless to say, dandelions thrive in my backyard.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy ripping that weed out, you lucky girl.
I'd say weed too..and like someone said, weeds tend to pull out easily. If it isn't a weed it should be, it is ugly.
ReplyDeleteI had something growing in front of my house too. Turns out it was a squash plant!

I'm going with everyone else - rip it out. Then put pretty rocks there and call it a rock garden. Rock gardens are known for their VERY low maintenance.
ReplyDeletelooks an overgrown perennial or something left over by the previous non Gardner. I dunno what a perennial is really. i just wanted to use fancy gardening talk like I knew what I was talking about.
ReplyDeletelooks ugly and weed like. Go ahead and use those muscles in those arms of yours. You know the ones you use to dip your fondue fork in the cheese at the melting pot. Pull it out.
Replace with a bird house? Bird Bath? Frog family on a bench? or how about a funny looking garden gnome? i can picture Natalie saying hello to gnomeo on her way in and out the door!
Here in Aviano at the commissary. There is a random garden Gnome chillaxin on a little garden gnome bench. I need to take a picture of it and show you. It's so random.
If you're like me in the gardening department (and I'm pretty sure you are) leave it alone. It will die its own slow natural death from your neglect. That's what happens to everything in my yard anyway.

I think it looks nice :) ...But I can ONLY GROW weeds, so...?
ReplyDeleteAnd that could be one of the finest lookin' weeds around!
wish I could help, but i don't know half of what is growing in own yard...I've probably ripped up perfectly good plants, in favor of what didn't recognie as weeds.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like "Lamb's Quarter" or lambsquarter weed - also called Wild Spinach, goosefoot, pigweed, and fat hen.
ReplyDeleteAnd its edible.
congrats....you've grown a really big...WEED. although, yes, it is one of those flowering types of weeds so people mistake it for a wildflower.
ReplyDeleteGo ahead, yank er out. because a) it's ugly, and b) its stealing all the nutrients from your pretty geranium groundcover that should/would be spreading nicely otherwise.
It's ugly. Get rid of it.
ReplyDeletelol it looks like a weed to me...pull it up :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a weed although can't get good look at leaves etc, definitely pull it before it gets a chance to seed. Be careful not to pull out the pink flower though and pull the crab grass to the left of it by the hose too. Doesn't look like they put any high maintenance plants in there so should be pretty easy to take care of.
ReplyDeletePull it! Then replant something else in there otherwise you'll have a big empty space. At least the greenery does look good, just not that kind.
ReplyDeleteLOL it is a weed, I'd rip that sucker out!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure it is a weed. We had one growing in front of my house for years, because we thought it was a plant. Until someone told my mom it wasn't. Oops!
ReplyDeleteI don't like going against rules simply for fear of fees. I also don't like gardening. Therefore, I would keep walking by it and ignoring it. :) All creatures need love, right? Let it grow! Probably not helpful if you want your yard and greenery looking nice.
ReplyDeleteAh, the joys of base housing. Enjoy the guessing game! Your base housing looks pretty decent!

Not sure what it is...except it's kind of big and ugly! I'd vote pull it up!! I'm more of a flower girl!
ReplyDeleteHa, too funny! I'm sure the weed is long gone by now. :o)
ReplyDeleteI haven't been by in a LONG time. I hope all is well!

I think it looks like a weed!
ReplyDeleteA weed and I doubt is base housing even cares about it. What you could do is pluck it, put it in a pot, and give it to the base commander's wife as a present! See what they do with it!
ReplyDeleteI would have to agree with the weed consensus, though if you're like me then you will just let your weeds flourish. :)
ReplyDeleteI would also have to agree. It looks like weeds to me. I think the small plant with pink flowers is a plant and the big things are weeds. I would pull it out myself.
